Chapter 5: Preparing for the Future
The massive body of Tiamat slowly transformed, taking the shape of an extraordinarily beautiful woman. She embodied mature, maternal beauty, with a face that displayed both power and tenderness. Shikama Doji, who witnessed this transformation, stared at her in awe. Yet, within him, there was no emotion other than admiration for Tiamat's beauty. His human desires were gradually fading, the human parts of his existence were being destroyed, replaced by non-human elements. Anyone else in his position might have been frightened by this transformation, but Shikama Doji embraced it with open arms. He saw himself as a larva wrapped in a cocoon, gradually transforming into a more complete being. Human instincts were things that belonged only to humans, and he wasn't even human. So why should he care about these insignificant instincts? Shikama Doji's thoughts didn't linger for long.
"You are very beautiful," Shikama Doji said with a calm smile, gazing at Tiamat.
"Beautiful? What is that?" Tiamat looked at Shikama in confusion. Ah, he had forgotten that in this era, such concepts had not yet been created. As he played with strands of her hair, Shikama thought about how strange everything was. But it was nothing he couldn't handle. He let out a helpless smile.
"I can make my home here," Shikama Doji said with a gentle smile.
"Home? What is a home?" Tiamat looked like a curious infant. Shikama Doji thought with frustration that he would have to teach her everything from scratch. "A home is a nest," he replied impatiently.
"Do you want to mate with me?" Tiamat suddenly asked an unexpected question. Even someone as composed as Shikama Doji blushed at this.
"What are you talking about?" Shikama Doji quickly responded. But Tiamat continued calmly, "When two people build their nests together, they mate. My children do the same. Is that wrong?"
"No, look, we are friends. That's why I want to build my nest near you," Shikama began to explain the concept of friendship. Tiamat happily accepted, and they sat together, talking. Tiamat was like an ignorant child, and Shikama Doji had to explain everything to her. Gradually, the day passed, and night fell. The beautiful moonlight illuminated everything. Tiamat went to create a new child, and Shikama Doji remained alone in that place, staring at the moon.
"What a troublesome day," Shikama Doji thought to himself. "The fact that the future Mother of Gods is so much like a child, it's like I'm raising a kid. But it's not so bad." He smiled faintly.
Shikama Doji continued his thoughts: "I've decided to build the Tower of Babel here. Of course, this is just an imitation. Even for me, creating the original version would be difficult. The Tower of Babel is the pinnacle of the civilization of the angels. A tower built to reach heaven, a tower that stretches to the sun. Technology that modern humans can't even imagine. I can start my experiments here. For now, I don't want to create any living beings. First, I need to ensure that I can craft the right spells to control my creations. The original Shikama Doji was defeated because of his pride. He never even considered the possibility of being defeated by his own weak creations."
He thought about the future: "I must prepare for the day when the asteroid strikes the Earth. That day will be when Gaia's power weakens. At that time, I can advance most of my plans. Ah, it seems I have a lot of work to do." Shikama Doji sighed and stared at the moon again.
The moonlight fell on his face, casting long shadows on the ground. He thought of a future where everything had changed. Tiamat, the Tower of Babel, new creations, and the day the asteroid would strike the Earth. All of these were part of his grander plans. Shikama Doji knew he had a long road ahead, but he was ready to face any challenge and move toward a future that only he could envision.
