Chapter 16: Mash doesn't know
Ritsuka looked at Kama arms and legs as he did have a question he wants to ask a for a while "um kama can I ask you a question"
Kama looked at him. "Sure darling".
Ritsuka moved his arm and started to gently move it as he kissed it. "Why in your god from it looks like your arm is made out of the universe and galaxy adults form, but in yihr teen form it looks like a normal girls arm with nail polish, is it because the adult form is closer to your god from"
Kama smiled, clearly touched by the question. She looked at her arm as Ritsuka gently moved it and kissed it, then met his gaze.
"That's a thoughtful observation, Ritsuka," she said. "Yes, you're correct. My appearance changes to reflect different aspects of my nature. In my goddess form, my arm and other features appear cosmic and otherworldly to signify my divine essence and the vastness of my power. It's a visual representation of the universe and the divine realms I oversee."
She paused, her eyes softening as she continued, "In my more human, younger form, I present myself in a way that's more relatable and approachable. It's easier for people to connect with a more familiar, human-like appearance. The nail polish and other details are just a part of that—it's about fitting into the world you live in and making connections on a more personal level."
Ritsuka nodded, understanding. "So, the differences in your appearance are about how you want to interact with the world and those around you."
"Exactly," Kama confirmed. "It's about balancing my divine nature with my desire to be close to you and others. I want to be approachable and relatable, even though my true form is far beyond ordinary comprehension."
Ritsuka looked at her with admiration. "I see. It's amazing how you can adapt like that."
Kama smiled warmly. "Thank you, darling. It's important to me that you understand and appreciate both sides of who I am."
Ritsuka kissed her gently, feeling a deepened appreciation for both her divine and human aspects.
Ritsuka looked at Kama still holding her arm. So your Adult form is your full god form.
Kama just looked at him. Not really it is like middle god form.
Ritsuka just looked Confused. Ok that makes no sense, either your in your god form or your not there is no in-between
Kama chuckled softly at Ritsuka's confusion, finding his earnestness endearing. She gently caressed his cheek with her free hand.
"I can see why that might be confusing," she admitted. "But let me explain it this way: think of my forms as different expressions of my divinity. My 'adult form,' as you call it, is indeed a more powerful and divine manifestation than my teenage form, but it's not my full god form."
She paused, searching for the right words. "You could say that my adult form is a 'middle ground' where I still retain a lot of my divine power and appearance, but I'm not fully unleashing my true, overwhelming presence. It's like showing just a part of who I am, enough to remind others that I am a goddess, but not so much that it would be too much for you or anyone else to handle."
Ritsuka raised an eyebrow. "So, it's like you're holding back?"
Kama nodded. "Exactly. My true god form, my full divine self, would be something far more intense and, honestly, a bit overwhelming for most beings, even for you. It's something I reserve for when I need to fully embrace my divine role as the Beast of Humanity. The form you usually see is me balancing my divine nature with my desire to stay connected with you and the others."
Ritsuka thought for a moment, then smiled. "I think I get it now. You're showing me just enough to understand who you are, without losing that connection we have."
Kama's eyes softened, and she leaned in to kiss him gently. "Exactly, darling. I want you to know me, to love me, but also to feel comfortable around me. That's why I choose to appear in ways that won't distance me from you, even if it means holding back a bit of my true power."
Kama then looked at Ritsuka as she had a smirk and made a joke. Sense you have kissed my and why don't you kiss my 'feet' darling.
It was joke, she knew Ritsuka won't do it, but she was shocked on what happened, Ritsuka went down grabbed her leg and kissed and she just looked at him
Kama just looked a bit flustered and kinda freaked out. Ahhh, you actually did.
Ritsuka just looked at her. Didn't you want me to do it?
Kama blinked in surprise, her usual confidence wavering for a moment as she processed what had just happened. She had expected Ritsuka to laugh it off or tease her back, but instead, he had taken her joke seriously and kissed her foot without hesitation.
She looked at him, a bit flustered and unsure how to respond. "I... I was just joking, darling," she stammered, her cheeks slightly flushed. "I didn't think you'd actually do it."
Ritsuka smiled warmly at her, still holding her leg gently. "I know it was a joke, but I didn't mind. You mean a lot to me, Kama. If something as simple as this can make you happy, why wouldn't I do it?"
Kama felt her heart skip a beat at his words. She was used to teasing and playing with others, but Ritsuka's sincerity always seemed to catch her off guard. She had never expected to be with someone who would take her whims seriously and still care for her deeply.
She swallowed, trying to regain her composure. "You're really something else, Ritsuka," she said softly, her voice carrying a mix of affection and wonder. "You always find a way to surprise me."
Ritsuka grinned, giving her foot one last playful kiss before letting it go. "Well, I guess that's just part of who I am. I like seeing you happy, even if it means doing something unexpected."
Kama felt a warm, fuzzy feeling spread through her chest. She had never imagined that being with someone could feel so fulfilling and comforting. Leaning forward, she wrapped her arms around Ritsuka, pulling him into a tight embrace.
"You're too good to me, you know that?" she murmured, her lips brushing against his ear.
Ritsuka hugged her back, feeling content in her arms. "I could say the same about you."
Ritsuka the relsied something. Hey system did I get any skill from Mash.
[ Yeah not yeat ]
Ritsuka just looked at the system. Huh.
[ Will she maybe part of the harem, but she has no idea, you know it Kama know it, but she doesn't ]
Kama just looked at the system. I forgot I added that to the system
Ritsuka sighed, realizing the situation. "So, even though Mash is technically part of the harem, I won't get any skills from her until she's fully aware and accepts her place in it?"
[Exactly,] the system responded. [Until Mash consciously recognizes her feelings for you and embraces her role in the harem, the skills tied to her won't activate. It's a safeguard to ensure genuine emotional connections.]
Kama nodded, a sheepish smile on her face. "Yeah, I added that feature to make sure everything's real between you and your harem members. No forced feelings or anything like that."
Ritsuka nodded in understanding. "That makes sense, actually. I wouldn't want it any other way."
Kama smiled at him, appreciating his sincerity. "You'll have to work on deepening your bond with her then. It'll be worth it, I promise."
Ritsuka chuckled. "I've always valued my relationship with Mash. This just gives me more reason to make sure it's built on trust and mutual feelings."
Kama leaned in closer, her voice playful. "And until then, you've got me to keep you busy."
Ritsuka laughed, wrapping an arm around her. "Wouldn't have it any other way."
Kama just looked at Ritsuka. Your love language really is Gentle and kindness.
Ritsuka just looked at her. I mean your not wrong
Kama then looked at him. You also don't have my kink's.
Ritsuka just blinked at that. Wait I don't?.
Kama Titled her head confused. No you don't, why do you ask?
Ritsuka looked at Kama, processing what she just said. "I guess I just assumed… with everything we've been through together, that I'd somehow picked up on some of your kinks. But if I haven't, I'm kind of surprised."
Kama chuckled softly, resting her hand on his chest. "Just because we're close doesn't mean you automatically adopt all of my quirks and desires. Everyone has their own unique preferences and... tendencies. And that's okay."
Ritsuka smiled at her, feeling a sense of relief. "That's true. It's not like I'd want to change who I am just to match someone else's tastes. But it's good to know that you accept me as I am."
Kama nodded, her eyes warm with affection. "Of course I do. Your gentleness and kindness are part of what make you so special. And I love you just the way you are, without needing you to mirror all of my... kinks."
Ritsuka chuckled, leaning in to kiss her forehead. "And I love you too, for everything that makes you unique, quirks and all."
Kama sighed contentedly, wrapping her arms around him. "You really are perfect for me, Ritsuka."
He held her close, feeling a deep sense of contentment. "And you're perfect for me too, Kama."
Ritsuka then gave her a head pat. Now go invisible and stay by my side, I am going to spent sometime with Mash ok.
Kama smiled softly at the head pat, her expression a mix of affection and playful mischief. "Alright, darling," she said, her form shimmering as she activated her invisibility. "I'll be right by your side, even if you can't see me. Just don't forget about me while you're with her."
Ritsuka chuckled, giving a reassuring nod. "I could never forget about you, Kama."
With that, Kama fully disappeared from sight, her presence still lingering as a comforting warmth near him. Ritsuka took a deep breath, mentally preparing himself for the time he was about to spend with Mash. He knew he had to balance his relationships carefully, ensuring that each of his soulmates felt valued and loved.
As he stepped out of his room and headed towards where Mash was, he could feel Kama's invisible hand briefly brush against his as a silent reminder that she was always there with him.
Ritsuka made his way through the halls of Chaldea, the familiar environment feeling more like home with each passing day. His thoughts were a swirl of emotions—he was excited to spend time with Mash, but he also knew that balancing his relationships with both her and Kama would require a delicate touch.
As he reached the common area where Mash was waiting, he saw her sitting on one of the couches, reading a book. Her face was lit by the soft glow of the room's lights, and her pink hair framed her gentle expression perfectly. Ritsuka couldn't help but feel a warmth in his chest as he approached her.
"Mash," he called softly.
She looked up, her eyes brightening when she saw him. "Senpai!" She set her book aside and stood up to greet him. "I wasn't expecting you this early. Did you sleep well?"
Ritsuka smiled, recalling his time with Kama. "Yeah, I did. How about you? How are you feeling?"
Mash gave a small, serene smile. "I'm doing well, Senpai. Thank you for asking." There was a brief pause before she continued, "Is there something you wanted to talk about?"
Ritsuka hesitated for a moment, trying to find the right words. "I just wanted to spend some time with you, Mash. I feel like we haven't had a chance to really talk lately."
Mash's eyes softened, and she nodded. "I'd like that, Senpai."
They both sat down on the couch, and Ritsuka could feel the faintest brush of Kama's presence, even though she was invisible. He knew she was watching, but for now, he focused entirely on Mash.
"So, how have things been for you?" Ritsuka asked, leaning back slightly.
Mash looked thoughtful. "It's been busy, but I'm glad to be able to help Chaldea and be by your side. Sometimes, I wonder if there's more I could do, though."
Ritsuka reached out and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "You're already doing so much, Mash. We wouldn't have made it this far without you. You're stronger and more important than you realize."
Her cheeks flushed slightly at his praise, and she looked down, clearly flustered. "Thank you, Senpai. That means a lot coming from you."
As they talked, Ritsuka noticed a subtle shift in the atmosphere. It was as if the bond between them was strengthening, a connection that went beyond simple friendship. The system's earlier message about Mash being his main soulmate lingered in the back of his mind.
He took a deep breath. "Mash… there's something I need to tell you."
She looked at him, curiosity and concern in her eyes. "What is it, Senpai?"
"I…," Ritsuka began, searching for the right way to explain everything. "I've been meaning to tell you that you're incredibly important to me. More than just as a friend or comrade. You've always been by my side, and… I want you to know that I care about you deeply."
Mash blinked, taken aback by his sudden confession. Her cheeks turned a deeper shade of pink, and she seemed to struggle to find the right words. "Senpai, I… I care about you too. You've always been someone I look up to, someone who makes me feel safe."
Ritsuka smiled gently, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. "I'm glad to hear that, Mash. I want to be there for you, in every way that I can."
The two shared a quiet moment, their feelings unspoken but understood. Ritsuka felt Kama's presence as a comforting warmth, reminding him that he wasn't alone in this journey. Even though she was invisible, he knew she was watching over him, supporting him in her own way.
Suddenly, the system chimed in with a message only Ritsuka could see.
[ Congratulations, Host. Your bond with Mash has strengthened. ]
Ritsuka mentally acknowledged the message, knowing that this was just the beginning of something deeper. He didn't need the system to tell him that his feelings for Mash were growing stronger.
Kama, still invisible, whispered softly into his ear, her voice teasing yet affectionate. "You're doing well, darling. I'm proud of you."
Ritsuka resisted the urge to smile, knowing that Mash wouldn't be able to hear Kama's words. He simply nodded subtly, letting her know that he appreciated her support.
Mash, oblivious to the invisible exchange, looked at him with a warm smile. "Senpai, thank you for being so kind to me. I feel like I can face anything as long as you're with me."
Ritsuka felt a swell of emotion in his chest. "And I'll always be here for you, Mash. No matter what happens."
As they sat together, the bond between them solidified, and Ritsuka knew that he was building something special with Mash. He also knew that, with Kama by his side, he could navigate this complex web of relationships without losing sight of what mattered most—caring for each and every one of his loved ones.
After some time, they decided to go for a walk around Chaldea, the halls empty and peaceful in the early hours. As they walked side by side, Ritsuka couldn't help but feel grateful for the life he had, even with all the challenges and complexities it brought.
With Mash at his side and Kama silently supporting him, Ritsuka felt ready to face whatever came next. The path ahead might be uncertain, but with his soulmates by his side, he knew he could handle anything.
And somewhere, deep within the recesses of the system, a new skill was quietly being prepared, waiting for the right moment to reveal itself. The journey was far from over, and Ritsuka was ready to embrace whatever came his way.
