Chapter 39: Impressed
The next day, Cheng Zhu called Wang Anquan over to his house and told him to bring his laptop for a meeting.
Now, Wang Anquan obeyed his every word, holding boundless admiration for his brother.
He felt that this summer vacation had been more thrilling than the past decade of his life combined!
Especially after their store, Keep Coming, officially launched.
As a junior customer service agent, he chatted away cheerfully every day, with more enthusiasm than when he used to talk with Chen Rongrong!
After all, many female customers would actively reach out to make purchases.
Some might ask the customer service agent, “I’m 36D. What size should I get?”
Or, “I’m flat, but my butt is perky. How should I choose?”
For special styles, some might even ask, “How do you wear this cat tail?”
How could a young, energetic guy like Wang Anquan withstand this?!
Could he have these kinds of conversations with Chen Rongrong?
—I love this job so much!
At first, he thought, I forgot to ask Brother Zhu about my pay. I don’t even know how much I’ll be earning each month.
But now, he didn’t care anymore. As long as he had food, it was enough.
Who cared about wages? They were like brothers with different fathers and mothers!
Speaking of which, Cheng Zhu had asked him to take the customer service role to train him.
In his view, customer service was about dealing with all sorts of people.
And those who sold products like theirs interacted with all kinds of people, especially the more colorful and open ones.
But he didn’t know which direction Wang Anquan would grow in.
Before 2 p.m., Wang Anquan arrived at Cheng Zhu’s house.
Cheng Zhu didn’t have a laptop. There was only a desktop computer at home.
Wang Anquan’s laptop was a gift from his family for his success in the college entrance exams.
Their family backgrounds couldn’t compare to Li Rui’s. Li Rui’s father had bought him an Alienware laptop, and he often showed it off in the class group chat.
Alienware laptops were notoriously heavy these days, but he insisted on carrying his everywhere.
Wearing slippers, Cheng Zhu went to open the door for Wang Anquan.
After opening the door, he quickly ran to his computer and said, “Didn’t we agree on two-thirty? Why are you here at two? I just started a game. Hang on.”
Wang Anquan, familiar with Cheng Zhu’s house, helped himself to a pair of guest slippers from the shoe rack, changed into them, and walked over to Cheng Zhu’s side, just in time to see him pick Yasuo for mid lane.
The young man’s mouth twitched. He knew how bad Cheng Zhu was. Even if his entire team was wiped out, he might still be happily farming minions.
Cheng Zhu put his headset and said to Wang Anquan, “Just hang out by yourself a bit.”
Then, speaking into the headset, he said to his teammate, “Didn’t I tell you I have a meeting at two-thirty with my classmate who’s doing e-commerce with me? He came early.”
Wang Anquan asked curiously, “Brother Zhu, are you duo-queuing with CEO Little Jiang?”
Not hearing clearly, Cheng Zhu shifted his headset to the side. After Wang Anquan repeated his question, he said, “No, just some noob.
“Hey! You’re still unconvinced and think I’m deceiving you? It’s your turn to pick a champion! Wait, didn’t we agree you’d pick Malphite to combo with me? You said yourself you’d let me have some fun this game!” Cheng Zhu grumbled into his headset.
Hearing the exchange, Wang Anquan figured that the person on the other end should be a guy.
But unexpectedly, Cheng Zhu seemed to hear a loud protest through his headset. He half-removed it and said with an exasperated tone to Wang Anquan, “She’s being fussy about a lousy title. She wants me to tell you she’s my senior sister.”
He quickly put on his headset back on and urged her to pick Malphite while continuing their playful banter. “Lin Lu, hurry up and pick. Come one, let me have some fun here!”
Wang Anquan sat there, dumbfounded.
“S-senior Sister?” He was completely shocked.
Up until now, his admiration for Cheng Zhu mainly stemmed from his business achievements, social skills, and personal charisma.
But when it came to romance, he had always considered Brother Zhu a master of theory without actual battle achievements.
However, the term senior sister suggested something entirely different.
Everyone else was still caught up in messy drama between classmates, but he had already jumped across age groups!
Wang Anquan couldn’t resist and asked curiously, “Brother Zhu, is she a senior sister from our high school?”
He was really curious about how Cheng Zhu got to know her.
He even analyzed it and concluded that they most likely met during the summer vacation, as Li Xinyue had a princess-like temperament and would definitely keep a tight watch on any of his relationships.
Hmm, meticulous Wang Anquan, pat yourself on the back.
While playing the game and farming minions. Cheng Zhu replied, “She’s not from our high school. She’s a senior sister from my university.”
This short response shocked Wang Anquan again.
Holy crap! School hasn’t even started yet, and Brother Zhu is already playing games with a college senior sister? Wang Anquan’s heart was shaken. And judging by the tone, they seem pretty familiar! It doesn’t sound like they’re just online acquaintances!
At this stage, many high school graduates yearned for college life.
Senior sisters were a group of people who could make incoming first-years daydream.
At this moment, Cheng Zhu had just finished farming a few waves in the mid lane when the jungler ganked him.
While waiting to respawn, he noticed Wang Anquan’s expression and asked, “What’s wrong? Why do you look so dazed?”
“Brother Zhu, how did you meet a college senior sister before school even started?” Wang Anquan asked humbly.
The answer was simple. You could add a bunch of friends on Tieba (an online forum).
These days, women were just as interested. Senior sisters also wanted to flirt with junior brothers!
Of course, someone at Lin Lu’s level wasn’t someone you’d meet just by adding them on Tieba.
“Are senior sisters that rare?” Cheng Zhu asked calmly.
This naturally prompted a strong protest from Lin Lu.
Wang Anquan felt like they were just flirting.
A moment later, Cheng Zhu was killed again. He put his headset down and said to Wang Anquan, “I’m going to the bathroom. Help me farm.”
“Okay.” In fact, Wang Anquan was much better at the game than Cheng Zhu.
He sat down at the computer and put on the headset out of habit. After putting it on, he realized she was Brother Zhu’s senior sister. What was he even supposed to talk about with her?
He was about to take off the headset when he heard a voice coming from it.
Lin Lu, the voice actress, started talking to herself like a narrator again.
The first time Cheng Zhu duoed with her in League of Legends, he noticed she liked to recite the champion’s classic lines while playing.
With her versatile voice, capable of sounding regal or sweet, innocent or mature, it was quite something. There was a unique charm to it.
This time, she didn’t pick the tanky Malphite but chose Fiora for the top lane instead. After ganking the enemy top laner with jungler, she spoke in a commanding, mature voice, quoting Fiora’s signature line:
“Precision and grace, I am an artist with a sword!”
When Cheng Zhu returned from the bathroom, he immediately saw the bewildered expression on Wang Anquan’s face.
“What’s wrong?” He was puzzled.
Wang Anquan hurriedly took off the headset and gave the seat to Cheng Zhu. His attitude was incredibly respectful, as if he were serving a great master, a grandmaster of men.
Her voice is incredible! Wang Anquan thought.
He felt that many streamers who gained fame for their voices couldn’t compare to this level!
Duoing with a senior sister like this was truly an auditory feast, a supreme pleasure on a spiritual level.
So, is this what Brother Zhu’s life is like? Is this what his world is like? Wang Anquan felt completely transformed, inside and out.
I’m kneeling. I’m completely in awe of you.
If Cheng Zhu knew what he was thinking, he would definitely mock him for being so disappointing.
Isn’t your thinking too limited?
Do you think this senior sister just has a nice voice?
Behind her pleasant voice is a flawless, angelic face.
And on top of that, when she buys our products, she has to buy the larger sizes for the top!
After the game ended, Cheng Zhu exchanged brief goodbyes with Lin Lu.
Lin Lu didn’t forget to send him her blessings. “Good luck with your e-commerce sales. Don’t forget to give me a few pieces to try on once you make a lot of money! Bye~”
Cheng Zhu closed the game and took off his headset.
As soon as he turned his head, he was startled by the look on Wang Anquan’s face.
“What’s wrong?” Cheng Zhu asked, puzzled.
“Brother Zhu, please teach me. I really want to learn!”
