" Seriously, what's his deal?" Kōji said angrily. " I don't mind if he doesn't respect us, but how could he just leave Masa-senpai standing and take off?"

" I'm sure he didn't mean any disrespect, it's just how he is," Riku said.

And how'd you know that?" Akio said raising an eyebrow

" We're in the same class, of course I'll know." Riku replied.

After warming up and having a race, Asahi called the whole team together. " As you know the state tournament is barely two months away, we'll be having a friendly match with Hokusei High School this weekend. You guys have been practicing for ages so you should be fine"

" But Hokusei won the national tournament thrice in a row. Do you think it's a good idea to play a match with them?"Kaito a third year asked, worried.

" The match was initiated by them, so we're gonna acknowledge their invite and show them we're stronger than what they seem to think." Masayoshi said and the others seemed to be more relieved. Asahi is very bad with words and doesn't really know how to express himself. So the students are always walking on edge around him.

" So Hinata is going for the 100m freestyle sprint I'll take the 200m backstroke, Takahara is going for 300m breaststroke, and Asahi the 100m and 200m butterfly" Masayoshi said.

" I said no competitions" Hinata said, still afloat. And that pissed the second and third years.

" What do you mean no competitions, many of us wish to be in your stead and you're treating your opportunity like a joke. Do you think you have the right to make decisions h....." Kōji said unable to hold his anger in a second longer.

" Then I'm leaving," Hinata said, cutting him off.

'What!!!!! Leaving??! After everything I went through to recruit him? Never gonna happen' Masayoshi thought, dumbfounded. " Woah, woah, woah, you guys should really learn how to be chill" he said trying to lift the tension in the air. He went over to Kōji and signaled to Asahi to get Hinata.

Asahi went over to Hinata, said a silent prayer and dragged Hinata away when no-one was looking. Or so he thought. He held his breath till they got to a secluded area then left Hinata's hand. He lowered his gaze ready for anything that might come his way.

" What the heck was that for?" Hinata said, his voice low and menacing.

" I...uh...look, you have every right to be annoyed. I'm sorry, but that was the best thing I could think of to take you out of there without anyone knowing?" Asahi said with puppy eyes, hoping Hinata would buy his excuse.

Hinata sighed and turned to leave but Asahi held his hand. The little skin contact made Hinata shudder and he yanked his hand away

" What is it this time ?" He asked

" It's about the competition. You'll only have to swim freestyle. It's something you love doing right ? You're just gonna be doing the same thing in front of many people during the competition.What do you say?Hm?" He said with hope in his eyes.

' Who the hell is this guy? What's this feeling? Why can't I say no to him? Argh!!! This is becoming frustrating ' Hinata thought .

" I'll do it " he murmured

" Really, you'll do it ?" Asahi said, his eyes literally smiling, Hinata just rolled his eyes.

" Can I leave now?" Hinata said becoming impatient.

" What exactly happened to you?" Asahi murmured.

" You say something?" Hinata asked

" Uh, no.. nothing, uhh I just wanted to ask if I could treat you to dinner this weekend. Of course that's if you're free" he rambled.

" I'll think about it " Hinata replied shortly. And with that he left.

IN THE MITSUAKI'S VILLA

"How was school today lil bro?" Haruki asked

" Annoying, " he replied. Many things had happened on his first day here.

" Hm?" Haruki asked looking at him suspiciously. " I heard about what happened in the swim club. I just want you to get alone with them. They're very nice people ya knows?"

" I'm off to bed " Hinata replied not ready to talk about what happened.

" Don't be a spoilsport Hina-chan" Haruki said with a pout. " I've got great news, interested?" He asked

" You'll make listen either way " Hinata said as he lay down beside his brother.

" There's someone I think I might've fallen for? Haruki said with a blush..

" The last thing I'm interested in is your love life" Hinata said feigning disinterest. In fact he really wanted to know who the scumbag was. Besides swimming, his brother was the something he doesn't joke with.
