Game of Thrones: Lord of the Seven Seas

Chapter 1: Damian Silvius Stark

Damian Silvius had never thought that his cause of death would be due to exhaustion from playing a game.

But Damian had to believe it when he saw his own body lying still on the chair in front of his PC. He had become a ghost if the illusionary blue-colored floating body and his physical body lying dead on the chair were of any evidence.

Damian was freaked for a while as anyone would after finding that they were done for. He calmed down in a little while and accepted his faith. His parents had died a long time ago in a car accident and his grandfather who took care of him until he graduated from a reputed university also died peacefully in his sleep just a few months ago.

So he wasn't leaving to make anyone sad about his passing other than a few close friends from high school. He did have many regrets left but now there was no use thinking about it. He wished he would gain a second chance and hoped he at least did not die so young in his next life.

"Now what? Or will there be Grim Reaper coming down to pick me up. Perhaps I will roam this world as a Virgin ghost for eternity or until I dissipate" Damon mused to himself.

[ Do you want to have another chance at life? Do you wish to resolve your regrets and fulfil your greatest wish? ]

[ Yes/No ]

Damian almost jumped back when he saw a panel pop out in front of him but then remembered he was a fucking ghost, there should be nothing in this world that should scare him now.

"What is this? . . . Second chance? Fuck yes, I want to live again. Yes!" Damian quickly tried to click the Yes option with his ghostly finger. But it seems his voice command was enough because the writing on the panel changed.

[ Selecting the world randomly. . . Planetos! ]

[ Wish you good luck! ]

"Planetos?. . . Wait, isn't that the world of Game of throooooo~"

Whossh!!!

Before Damon could show his surprise, a wormhole opened right in front of him and sucked his ethereal body inside.

. . .

Damian Stark was born to Lyarra Stark and Rickard Stark of Winterfell in the year 275 AC. He had four older siblings - Brandon, Eddard, Lyanna, and Benjen respectively.

He was loved dearly by each of his siblings and his parents but as everyone knows, a tragedy occurred after Lyanna was 'kidnapped' by Prince Rhaegar Targaryen from the Tourney of Harrenhal. Rickard and Brandon Stark died at King Landings at the hand of the Mad King on false charges of treason while Lyanna died as Ned reached the Tower of Joy in Dorne to rescue his sister. During the war, Benjen stayed back in Winterfell to look after it with his mother Lyarra, and his little brother Damian.

Maybe the only thing that changed this time was that Lyarra did not succumb to depression and sadness due to the death of her husband, son, and daughter. Since Damian was a small child, he always tried to cheer her mother, she remained strong for him and unexpectedly this averted her fate.

The war ended in the year 283 AC. Ned came back to the North with his new wife, Catelyn Tully, and a newborn baby who was named Robb Stark plus another newborn baby who was introduced to the world and his family as his bastard, Jon Snow.

After Ned took his position as the head of House Stark, Benjen soon left Winterfell and joined the night watch, the order of the Black.

The Starks had always manned the wall and therefore, Ned respected the choice of his little brother. Damian was eight-name days old at that time. After the situation of the seven realms calmed a little, Ned had thought of sending Damian to be fostered at one of his bannermen's houses. Lord Stark chose House Manderly because they were close to Moat Cailin, an important and ancient Castle that has defended the North against many Andal invasions. Ned was planning to give the seat of Moat Cailin to his little brother after he came of age and proves himself someone capable of holding such an important and strategic location.

Lord Wyman Manderly quite happily accepted his liege Lord's request to foster Damian Stark with them.

And thus Damian was sent to White Harbor when he was nine-name days old.

For five years, Damian learned administration skills and business skills from Lord Wyman Manderly. He also learned swordsmanship, archery, and horseriding from the teachers hired by Lord Manderly. Not to mention he had also mastered ship sailing in one year, having completed a journey from the White Harbour to Braavos and back on a merchant ship belonging to the Manderly. He even got to command the ship on the return journey. Everyone on the ship praised Damian for being a natural seafarer.

When Damian finally turned ten and four name-days old, he had completed his fostering and thus Ned called him back to Winterfell.

After getting assurance from Lord Manderly that Damian was capable of taking responsibility and properly ruling Moat Cailin, Ned decided to name his little brother, the Lord of Moat Cailin, and allow him to form a cadet branch of Stark House. But things didn't go as he had planned.

The minute Damian came to know about his older brother's decision and plan for his future, he bolted away from White Harbor, taking a passage on a ship bound for Braavos.

It wasn't that Damian didn't want to become Lord of Moat Cailin and help shoulder his part of the responsibility to his family, it's just that he was a big fan of the greatest seafarer - Corlys Velaryon, the fabled Sea Snake, Lord of the Tides, Master of Driftmark and Head of House Velaryon.

Damian wanted to roam the world, go on an adventure, explore unknown territories and bring back treasures from his adventures. Maybe if he told his big brother, he might understand and give him a few years off to achieve his dream but Damian knew he won't be able to convince his mother. She will definitely not allow him to take such risks.

Of course, Damian had left a letter explaining his disappearance and plan for roaming the world for at least four years before coming back. He also promised in the letter to be in touch with them and tell them about his adventures and whereabouts from time to time through letters.

After arriving at Braavos for the second time, Damian immediately went to open a bank account in the Iron Bank and deposit his hard-earned seven hundred sixty-one Gold Dragon coins. This money was earned by him by helping Wyman Manderly in administration, and some of it was also earned through gambling.

It was a lot of money for a fourteen-year-old teen, even if he belonged to a big Noble house. Not even the eldest son would have more than twenty Gold Dragons as saving before he came of age and was allowed to have access to more coins.

After saving his money in the Iron Bank, he used their facilities to buy one second-hand cog, costing around 150 gold coins and it would be handed to him in five days.

Cogs are mostly propelled by sails, which make them difficult to sail, especially upwind, and they are hostage to breezes and currents in a way that the swift galley is not. However, it can better manage rough seas and its small crew and ample storage space give it greater freedom of movement, making it perfect for trade or equipment transport.

Damian was planning to start trading with his ships between Lorath and Pentos, at most he will travel to Myr, Tyrosh, and Kings Landing to gain experience and make money for at least two years. Afterwards, if he is successful then he will buy more ships to form a fleet and travel to far away locations such as Summer Islands, Naath, Volantis, Iben island, or maybe even Qarth in the far east in the third and fourth year. If Damian was successful then he would start the last part of his journey which was to sail to the farthest known world to Westeros and recreate what Corlys Velaryon had achieved in his time, maybe achieve more than that.

Damian used another facility of Iron Bank to hire sailors and sell sails through them for his merchant ship. Though not a hundred per cent guarantee, sailors that are hired through the Iron Bank are known to have some credibility and are known to follow every command of the captain that had hired them. They might only rebel or hijack the ship unless the Captain breaks the contract or takes risks greater than what was agreed upon.

But as they say, not everything goes as planned in life.

After Damian had completed the formalities of hiring sailors at Iron Bank, he walked out and toured the famous sites of the city.

After the sun had just set on the horizon, Damian finally went to search for an inn to rest for the night but in doing so he was upfronted by a group of Braavosi men on a bridge. They challenged him to a duel and it caught Damina off guard.

He knew about the customs of Braavos. Anyone can challenge anyone in Braavos to a duel at night as long as they walk with a sword on them. It was just that Damian had forgotten about this matter. He would have searched for an inn earlier if he had remembered and not been annoyed by such duels.

Nevertheless, he accepted the challenge and unsheathed his sword to fight the man that was twice his age.

Damian fought hard and bravely. Though he was not a swordsman at the level of a knight, he could very well hold his own against them and wasn't far in terms of skills. He defeated his opponent in just twenty rounds. But things didn't end instead the friends of the losers challenged him yet again. Damian couldn't refuse or he will be ganged by the five of them together.

Therefore, he accepted the challenge and fought another Braavosi. Sometimes luck can be a bitch.

God knows how but Damian somehow slipped as he was blocking an attack. He fell back, hitting his head hard on the cobblestone of the bridge, and fell unconscious on the spot. The Braavosi challenger was dumbfounded for a moment and so were the audiences who were enjoying the show from the sidelines.

. . .

Damian found himself standing in a room with bright white walls. The unfamiliar place had indeed shocked him but the person that was standing in front of him had shocked him more. He was the exact copy

"Wh- who are you? Where is this? What is this place?" Damian asked. The other person was older but looked just like him.

"Damian Stark, Nice to meet you. I'm Damian Silvius, your past life's memories and true persona." the older version of him introduced himself to the confused Damian.

"My what?" Damian asked dumbfoundedly.

"You won't get it until we become one again. Let us make full use of this chance and live our life to our fullest, with no regrets." Damian Silvius turned into a wisp of light and shot towards the young stark and merged itself with him.

When Damian regained consciousness, he was still the same person but yet not the same. He was finally whole in a sense.

"I'm Damian Silvius Stark from on," Damian whispered to himself as he looked at the ceiling or more specifically, at the panel that he could see hovering in front of him.

"You are what?"
