Chapter 11: Chapter 10
"My lady, are you okay?" Aurion asked again, but he received no response.
" Ah, I'm fine." Lyanna answers getting back on her feet and froze as Vhagar and Balerion had turned to watch her.
Noticing the girl was about to start shaking in fear, Aurion descended his dragon and walked towards her.
" You need not be afraid, I'm Aurion Balaerys these two are Balerion and Vhagar. Would you grant me the pleasure of knowing your name?"
She looked at Aurion, who stood a few feet from her and was drawn into his eyes. Soon, her fear slowly left her, leaving only curiosity and an undeniable attraction.
" I'm Lyanna Stark."
" Ah, Lyanna. A lovely name, it just so happens I was on my way to Winterfell, it would be my honor to escort you back home if you wish." Aurion says.
Lyanna's gaze for the first time shifts from Aurion to his two dragons, as she seems to have gone into deep thought.
Aurion of course noticed and immediately understood what she was thinking.
" Hahaha, I meant on foot, my Lady. We aren't far from Winterfell now, I've been riding mostly for the past weeks a walk would be nice."
" Then, please escort me back Lord...." She was interrupted.
" No need for the formality, please call me Aurion." He says as he walks to her side motioning for them to start their journey to Winterfell.
" Okay."
" Balerion, Vhagar you two follow us from above." Aurion says as he and Lyanna begin walking.
The two dragons flapped their wings taking off and stirring up a strong wind, Aurion was much affected but Lyanna was pushed back and tripped.
"Ahh!!" She managed to scream as she closed her eyes and got ready for the impact.
But it didn't come, her fall stopped as she was pulled forward into Aurion's arms.
As she opened her eyes Aurion was looking at her, her right hand in his hand and his left hand around her waist holding her close.
" My mistake, I should have warned you." Says Aurion.
" It's alright, it was a mistake."
" Your hand is cold."Aurion says taking his hand from around her waist taking her other hand and bringing them together covering them with his bigger hands.
He brought his mouth close and blew on her hand as he rubbed them together warming them up, as his lip grazed one of her fingers, and Lyanna's face soon turned red.
Her eyes still locked on his face, taking it in she says.
" Your breath, your hands are so warm, like a gentle flame."
Hearing this Aurion continued rubbing her hands as he looked at her and smiled.
" Thank you, the eternal flame."
"Eternal flame?" She asked.
" The worlds of my house, the eternal flame, I believe the flame also lives in me, so thank you for the compliment."
" Ah, you are welcome." She says looking away.
" Come let's go, night will soon come." Aurion says holding her right hand and walking forward as she follows by his side.
The two walked in peaceful silence, a delicate atmosphere was created between the two as Lyanna stole glances at Aurion would catch sometimes and chuckle at her antics.
Soon a shadow passed over their head as she looked up to see Balerion passing.
" Balerion was it?"
" Yeah, named after the Gods of Valyria."
" They are both magnificent creatures, free in the sky, I wish...." She stopped looking down.
" You can say it." Aurion says, Lyanna looks at him trying to figure out what his purpose was.
" You can say it, and I will let you experience it, my dragons will let whoever I want ride them, but I will only allow those that carry the name Balaerys to ride them."
Lyanna looked at him and immediately understood what he meant.
" So say if you wish, and I will carry you on dragon back through the sky, burning all chains that bind you with Dragonfire." Aurion says as the two lock eyes.
Lyanna looked at the man she just met and knew he was telling her the truth, and even though they had just met she just knew a life with him would be a thousand times better than anything Robert could give her.
She was infatuated with him, she knew what she currently felt wasn't love, but she knew if she went with him love would come soon.
Her current infatuation was close to winning, almost making a decision she knew she would regret because of the consequences it would bring to her family.
Soon her duty to her house overpowered the infatuation pushing it down into the depths of her heart and mind.
" I appreciate the offer, but the chains that bind me are of duty, family, and blood. Coated in the cold of the north, something that even dragon fire can't destroy."
"Mhm, someone yearning freedom as much as you do chained down truly brings me sadness, but at the same time I admire you for being able to sacrifice for your family." Says Aurion.
" Maybe their will be a time when, you will be able to say it and not worry, but bring glory and joy to your family, maybe their will be a time that it will be the choice they would want you to make."
" If that time comes...… I'll scream it to the heavens, making sure you can hear me, but until then." She says taking her hand from his and continuing onward.
Aurion followed behind, in deep thought as he watched the Stark beauty walking in front of him.
' Now this is surprising, that isn't the choice I thought she would make. Maybe I'm not as charming as Rhaegar. No that's not it.' Aurion thinks to himself.
'She hasn't meet Robert yet, she has only heard rumors so far, maybe she still has some hope he would be a great man, then their is her family.'
' Well it's fine, I'm not in love with her, just a little infatuation, wanting to possess her a little maybe, but I'm sure I can love her if I stay with her a little more.' Thinks Aurion.
' She is clearly far more complex than shown in the show.'
