Chapter 353: Chapter 353: Lumine's Three Elements

Inazuma, Ritou.

Under the vast moonlight, its glow spilled across the land, casting a silvery frost over rooftops and streets.

The island's night was lively, especially around izakayas and restaurants, which were always bustling with people.

"Hello, Granny, how much are these masks?"

As Nolan and his group passed by a mask stall run by an elderly woman with snow-white hair, Paimon, intrigued by the animal and yokai-themed designs, excitedly expressed interest in buying one.

"Hehe, well, hello there, little flying one. Each mask is 1,000 Mora. Pick one you like."

The old woman smiled warmly.

"Hmm, hmm."

Paimon's eyes lit up as she focused on a small tanuki mask on the shelf. She turned to Lumine with an expectant look.

"Go ahead. Use the Mora Lady Ningguang gave you last time," Lumine replied nonchalantly, handing a 5,000 Mora coin to the stall owner.

"Ugh, fine, fine. In that case, why don't you all pick a mask too? Consider it Paimon's treat—how generous of me!"

Paimon giggled.

Truthfully, she was reluctant to spend her savings, but considering how often she mooched food and drinks off the Traveler, she thought this would be a good chance to show she wasn't stingy after all.

"No thanks. I'm not used to wearing masks."

Lumine shook her head, her golden hair brushing lightly against her fair forehead.

Nolan, however, picked up a fox mask from the shelf and gently placed it on Lumine's face. The mask added an air of mystery to her already graceful demeanor.

"It suits you. I'll also take an oni mask."

Nolan chuckled and addressed the elderly woman.

"Alright, thank you."

The white-haired shopkeeper handed him a black oni mask and returned 2,000 Mora as change.

As they left the stall, Paimon enthusiastically played with her tanuki mask while Lumine tapped her white fox mask, producing a soft "knock knock" sound.

The masks were made of wood and seemed to be of decent quality.

"Let's wear the masks during our operation later. Haha, it'll make us feel even more like villains," Nolan suggested as he donned the black oni mask.

"Does it even matter? With this group—our outfits, hair, and everything else—it's not like we're hard to recognize," Lumine replied, lowering her fox mask, looking a bit exasperated.

"Ahem, that's irrelevant. It's all about the vibe," Nolan said, adjusting his oni mask. Then, suddenly leaning in, he tried to startle Lumine.

However, he misjudged the distance. With a loud "thunk," he bumped his forehead against hers, leaving a small crack on the mask.

"You idiot!"

Lumine rubbed her slightly sore forehead. This guy was worse than Paimon sometimes! Annoyed, she grabbed his ear and twisted it.

"Ow, ow, it hurts!" Nolan yelped but didn't dare resist.

---

Late at night, under the shroud of Nolan's Stealth Domain, three figures—wearing a black oni mask, a white fox mask, and a tanuki mask—crept stealthily toward the gates of the Kanjou Commission office.

They waited for a few minutes.

The Shogunate guards standing watch had started to doze off, yet the gates remained firmly shut.

"We'll climb over the wall."

The black oni mask turned to the fox and tanuki masks, signaling with a glance hidden by the mask. Then, through the silent communication of Interstellar Travel, Nolan spoke.

"We'll scale the wall."

We're already in stealth mode; wouldn't just saying it out loud be simpler? Lumine thought to herself.

Fine, I'll play along for the atmosphere, she mused and responded the same way: "Alright."

The group—Lumine, Paimon, and Nolan—easily vaulted over the wall surrounding the Kanjou Commission office and slipped inside. Guards were patrolling within, but none noticed their presence.

"This place is huge. How are we supposed to find the magistrate's residence?"

Paimon spread her arms, the tanuki mask turned toward the black oni for answers.

"That's simple. We'll just wake someone up and ask them. After all, we're playing the role of 'illegal intruders' now. It wouldn't be proper to get caught up in trivial details like before."

Nolan's voice, muffled slightly by the mask, sounded amused.

"However, before finding the magistrate, let's head to the Statue of the Seven first. Getting you lightning powers is more important."

He paused and then added thoughtfully.

"Agreed," Paimon said with a nod, her small face lighting up behind the tanuki mask.

"Alright," Lumine replied without objection.

The group moved toward the Statue of the Seven, which was located in the rear courtyard of the Kanjou Commission grounds. It wasn't difficult to find; they simply followed the path toward the back.

Without bothering to avoid patrolling guards, they strolled leisurely along the pathways, their boldness aided by their stealth domain.

---

Five or six minutes later...

They arrived at the courtyard, where the Statue of the Seven stood proudly.

As it was late at night, the area was deserted. Nolan temporarily dispelled the stealth domain, revealing Lumine and Paimon, and together, they ascended the stone steps to the statue.

"This Inazuman god is quite a beautiful girl," Paimon said, gazing up at the statue in admiration.

"Yes. I heard Raiden Shogun's strength is among the top of the Seven Archons. She once used her Musou no Hitotachi to slay a god, creating a massive strait in the process," Lumine recalled, thinking back to the stories Kazuha had shared during their time on the boat.

"Paimon wonder who's stronger—her or Zhongli?" Paimon mused curiously.

"Does it matter? Eventually, I'll surpass them all," Nolan said with a small, smug grin. Then, he continued:

"Of course, Lumine, I think once you've mastered all seven elements, you'll be just as powerful. For now, the Electro element is right in front of you—go ahead and give it a try!"

"Okay."

Lumine nodded and gently pressed her pale hand against the statue's base. The statue responded immediately.

A flash of golden light.

And then, silence.

However, Lumine could feel a significant surge in her elemental power. She instinctively knew she could now harness and control the Electro element.

With her past experience, she'd likely master it fully within two or three days.

Nolan watched as Lumine's aura grew noticeably stronger. When she gained the Geo element, there hadn't been such a dramatic shift. Could obtaining a third element have triggered some kind of qualitative change?

Curious, he activated his golden Eye of Judgment to assess her level:

[Level: 76]

Previously, she had been at level 72. A four-level increase was a massive boost in power. Moreover, her aura was still strengthening, and Nolan wondered just how far it would rise.

With Lumine's Electro awakening complete, the group was ready to search for the Kanjou Commission magistrate.

Just as they were about to leave, a voice rang out from behind them:

"Who are you, and why have you trespassed into the Kanjou Commission's grounds at night?"
