Whether it was a trick of the light or not, everyone present who was still watching Bai Luo felt a change in his aura.
If before he was agile and elusive, now he resembled a sheathed blade ready to be drawn.
Moreover, he now seemed more akin to an Inazuma native.
"Do you dare to take one strike from me?"
The hand gripping the broken blade trembled, just like the young man who had once stood in this very spot, attempting to withstand the Musou no Hitotachi.
But Bai Luo's trembling hand was not due to fear.
He was suppressing a powerful force.
The energy that had coursed through his body for the entire thirty seconds after unlocking the Battousai Class was now almost uncontrollable.
If he didn't release this energy soon, he felt he might explode.
"I'll give you a chance to draw your blade."
Raiden Shogun lowered her already raised sword slowly.
She did not adopt a defensive stance.
To her, no human blade could harm her.
Furthermore, all of Inazuma's sword techniques originated from her.
Her own swordsmanship did not require her to defend against it.
"Thank you."
Bai Luo's left hand holding the sword slowly moved behind his back, while his right hand rose to the front.
"Battoujutsu?"
Raiden Shogun immediately recognized the familiar technique, commonly seen in Inazuma.
But what followed puzzled her.
Bai Luo's body lowered closer and closer to the ground, almost touching it.
In that instant, the last hint of sharpness in Bai Luo was condensed into the broken blade he held.
To everyone watching, he seemed like an ordinary young man.
Perhaps any rookie from the Tenryou Commission could beat him up.
But no one underestimated him.
Those knowledgeable in swordsmanship wore expressions of astonishment.
"This... this isn't Inazuma's Battoujutsu!"
Holding his sword, Kamisato Ayato's usually calm face showed an expression of disbelief for the first time.
After the Shogun imparted her swordsmanship, various styles in Inazuma did develop their unique flavors.
Even Ayato and his sister's styles differed slightly.
But at the core, all these sword techniques originated from the Shogun, with little variation.
The Battoujutsu Bai Luo used now bore some resemblance to the Shogun's techniques.
But it was entirely different.
This was unheard of in all of Inazuma.
If this Battoujutsu was impressive enough, Bai Luo could establish his own school in Inazuma without any issues.
He could even be revered as a master.
Confronting this unknown Battoujutsu, Raiden Shogun dropped her previous disdain, raising her Musou Isshin with intent to respond seriously.
Regardless of its power, the opponent's expertise in swordsmanship warranted her earnestness.
However, halfway through raising her blade, a look of astonishment crossed her face.
Because... she couldn't move.
"Hiten Mitsurugi-Ryu: Kuzu-Ryu-Sen!"
As Bai Luo's voice fell, he moved.
All swordsmanship in the world extended from the nine basic directional strikes.
Kuzu-Ryu-Sen is a technique that delivers nine strikes simultaneously at extreme speed.
In an instant, Bai Luo and Raiden Shogun passed each other.
Nine sword flashes landed on Raiden Shogun simultaneously, creating a spray of blood.
"Is... is the Shogun hurt?"
Kujou Sara's hand trembled on the bowstring, her face showing the same shock as when she first encountered Arataki Itto.
Raiden Shogun was one of the seven Archon. Since she began serving the Shogun, she had never seen her get even a scratch.
But this criminal who dared challenge the Shogun had actually wounded her.
Raiden Shogun was even more puzzled.
Bai Luo's slashes not only bypassed her defenses but also ignored her clothing, directly affecting her body.
In simple terms, all her defensive measures failed to block his nine strikes.
She had to endure those nine strikes with her own flesh.
The strangest part was that moment before he struck.
If she could have raised her Musou Isshin, she might have blocked his attack.
But he used some unknown means to immobilize her for a full second.
One second was enough to do many things.
Aside from during the Archon War, it was the first time in a long while that she had encountered something like this.
Coupled with his mysterious energy that could render him invincible, could this guy be a remnant from that era?
Regardless of how stunned everyone was, Bai Luo, after releasing that surge of power, was back to normal.
He knew that by snatching the Vision, he had become a target.
Now, having wounded Raiden Shogun with his swordsmanship, the moment the people around him realized what happened, they wouldn't let him go easily.
Clang—
The broken blade returned to its sheath with a grating sound.
Bai Luo's speed, already fast, increased even more after sheathing the blade.
Clad in a red kimono, he became a red flash, dashing to Kamisato Ayato's side.
Perhaps intentionally, the spot where Kamisato Ayato was facing off against Kaedehara Kazuha happened to be below a high wall.
After pushing his opponent back with one slash, Bai Luo grabbed the shocked Kazuha and, within a few steps, climbed the high wall of the training ground and jumped off the cliff on the other side.
These movements flowed seamlessly, even catching Raiden Shogun off guard.
She instinctively regarded Bai Luo as someone from her era, expecting him to strike again.
She was prepared for battle but he simply fled.
"Chase them!"
The soldiers in the training ground reacted, running to the cliff where Bai Luo and Kazuha had jumped.
But below the cliff, there was only fog and a few soaring eagles, with no sign of the two.
"Cough... Sorry, Shogun."
Kamisato Ayato supported himself on the ground with his sword, Bansho Goetsu, and apologized with a wry smile.
Bai Luo's strike hadn't used much force, but Ayato, intending to let Kazuha go, hadn't defended himself at all.
The strike landed solidly on his chest.
Had Bai Luo not held back, the world of Tevyat would have lost a playable character.
"You did well. Go back and heal. I will have the Tenryou Commission put those two on the Vision Hunt Decree. Next time... I will be the one to strike."
Feeling the pain from her wounds, Raiden Shogun turned and walked into Tenshukaku.
How many years had it been... She hadn't found herself in such a predicament in so long.
Fine. Next time, she wouldn't let him escape so easily.
