Genshin Impact: The Crit Archon

Chapter 8: Room mate

Aether arrived back to Knight of Favonius headquarters, as he went to his room, the moment he opened the door, he saw a girl there, the girl She has a pale complexion and eyes that appear to exhibit sectoral heterochromia, fading from dark purple to pale yellow. She has choppy, unevenly cut light blue hair. She is a few inc's toller then Aether.

The Girl looked at Aether. "How are your to come to my room like that".

Aether was bit confused. "Um high I am Aether and this is my room, Jean has given to me".

The girl eyes then stopped narrowing as she looked at Aether. "I see you must be my roommate, allow me to Interduce my self, my Name is Eula".

Aether just looked at the girl. "It is a pleasure to meet you Eula".

Eula nodes and looked at him. "You seemed to be more polite to me, mark my word I will have my vengeance".

Paimon just looked at the girl, before she wishper to Aether. "Does this girl have some screws loos".

Aether gave Paimon a sideways glance, a mix of curiosity and amusement on his face. "It seems like Eula has her own way of expressing herself."

Eula, noticing the exchange, raised an eyebrow but maintained her composure. "I assure you, my intentions are not to cause discomfort. I merely adhere to my own principles."

Aether nodded, trying to smooth over any awkwardness. "Well, I'm sure we'll get along just fine. I'm here to help and make the most of my time in Mondstadt."

Eula seemed to relax slightly, though her gaze remained sharp. "Very well. If you need anything or wish to discuss any matters, feel free to approach me."

Paimon floated closer to Aether, her curiosity piqued. "So, what's the deal with Eula? Is she always like this?"

Aether shrugged. "She seems to have her own unique way of doing things. I guess we'll find out more as we spend time together."

Eula gave a curt nod before turning back to her own belongings, leaving Aether and Paimon to settle into the room.

Aether looked at the room. "You know, that explains why there was two beds here, I gess this was her room".

Paimon floated around the room, examining the space. "Looks like it! At least now you know where your roommate stands."

Aether glanced around, noting the room's practical but neat arrangement. "Seems like it's going to be an interesting stay."

Paimon looked at the beds, then back at Aether. "I guess it's time to get settled. And who knows, maybe you'll have some adventures with Eula too!"

Aether chuckled, nodding in agreement. "Yeah, I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities to learn more about her and this city."

Meanwhile in jean office as she was doing some paper work a nock on her door happened, as she just looked up and said to the person to come in, as it was Aether.

Jean looked at Aether. "Ah Aether did you need something".

Aether just looked at heer. "I just wanted to know that why didn't you tell me about will Eula"

Jean paused her work and looked up at Aether with a slight smile. "I apologize for not mentioning it sooner, Aether. I thought it might be a good surprise for you, and honestly, I didn't expect you to return so quickly."

She leaned back in her chair. "Eula has been staying in that room for a while now, but with the recent events and her busy schedule, it seemed like a good idea to have you share the space. I figured you two might get along well—or at least, learn from each other."

Jean's expression softened. "Is everything alright? I hope there hasn't been any trouble between you two."

Aether sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Well, it was just... unexpected. I wasn't really prepared to share a room, especially with someone like Eula. She's... unique."

Jean chuckled softly. "Yes, Eula is indeed one of a kind. She might come across as a bit intense, but she's a good person at heart. Her 'vengeance' talk is more of a personal quirk than anything serious."

Aether nodded, starting to relax. "I can see that. She's definitely different, but I think we'll manage."

Jean smiled warmly. "I'm glad to hear that. If you ever need anything or if there's any issue, don't hesitate to come to me. You're a Knight of Favonius now, Aether, and that means we look out for each other."

Aether returned her smile. "Thanks, Jean. I appreciate that."

Jean stood up from her desk, walking around it to stand in front of Aether. "By the way, I wanted to personally thank you again for all your help with the temples. Mondstadt owes you a great deal."

Aether waved it off modestly. "Just doing what I can. But, uh... about the room situation... I'll do my best not to let it become an issue."

Jean nodded. "I have no doubt you'll handle it well. Eula might be a bit challenging at first, but she's reliable. Who knows? You might find that you two work well together."

Aether chuckled. "Let's hope so."

Jean placed a hand on his shoulder. "You've been through a lot, Aether. Don't hesitate to take some time to rest and get to know your new home here in Mondstadt. And remember, you're not alone. We're all here to help."

Aether nodded, feeling reassured. "I'll keep that in mind. Thanks, Jean."

As Aether turned to leave, Jean called after him, "And Aether, try not to take Eula's 'vengeance' too seriously. It's just her way of showing she cares."

Aether chuckled again as he left the office, feeling more at ease. "I'll keep that in mind."

As he walked back to his room, Aether couldn't help but wonder how things would unfold living with someone as enigmatic as Eula. But with the support of his new friends in Mondstadt, he felt ready for whatever challenges lay ahead.

The next day Aether was in the library as he was looking at book called tayvat history, as he was will reading up on the history of Mondstadt history

Aether flipped about page before seeing the name of Mondstandt liberators. "Vanessa so that is her name huh".

Aether murmured to himself as he read through the page detailing Vennessa's legacy. He traced his finger over the text, taking in the story of the warrior who had freed Mondstadt from tyranny and established the city of freedom that it was today.

"Vennessa... the Dandelion Knight," he muttered, absorbing the information. The history of Mondstadt was rich with tales of bravery and struggle, and Vennessa's story stood out as one of the most significant. Aether felt a sense of admiration for her, imagining the strength it must have taken to lead such a revolution.

As he continued reading, he felt a presence beside him. He looked up to see Lisa standing nearby, her usual playful smile on her face.

"Enjoying a bit of light reading, cutie?" she asked teasingly, glancing at the book in Aether's hands.

Aether smiled back, closing the book for a moment. "Yeah, just trying to learn more about Mondstadt's history. It's fascinating to see how much has happened here."

Lisa nodded, her eyes twinkling with interest. "Vennessa's story is a remarkable one. She was a true hero, someone who fought for the freedom of Mondstadt with all her might. The city owes her a great deal."

Aether agreed. "It's inspiring. I didn't realize just how deep Mondstadt's roots in freedom and independence go."

Lisa leaned closer, resting a hand on the table as she spoke in a softer tone. "It's important to know the history of the place you're protecting. And as a newly appointed Knight of Favonius, you're part of that legacy now, Aether."

Aether felt a sense of pride and responsibility at her words. "Yeah... I guess I am."

Lisa smiled warmly, pleased with his response. "Just remember, you're not alone. You have us—Jean, Kaeya, Amber, and even Eula. We're all here to support you."

Aether nodded, appreciating the reassurance. "Thanks, Lisa. I'll do my best to live up to the title."

Lisa straightened up, her usual playful demeanor returning. "I have no doubt you will, cutie. Now, if you need any more help with your studies, you know where to find me."

Aether then looker at the finished text. "So what about this 'celestia' what is it".

Lisa just looked and spoke. "The place the Archons come from a realm of gods".

Aether's expression darkened as he heard the word "Celestia." The mention of a realm of gods stirred something deep within him, a sensation that was both familiar and unsettling. It was a feeling he hadn't experienced since his journey through Olympus, the world he and his sister once visited, where they encountered the powerful beings of the realm they called Hades.

Lisa noticed the change in his demeanor and raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "Something on your mind, cutie?"

Aether shook his head slightly, trying to brush off the unease that had settled over him. "It's just… the idea of a realm of gods. It reminds me of a place my sister and I visited a long time ago. The gods there were… different. Powerful, but in a way that felt oppressive."

Lisa's eyes softened with understanding. "Celestia is a mysterious place, even to us. The Archons may come from there, but not much is known about it. It's said to be where the true gods reside, watching over Teyvat."

Aether nodded, but the mention of Celestia continued to gnaw at him. "Do you think they interfere with the world often? The gods, I mean."

Lisa considered his question carefully. "Some say they do, others believe they leave us to our own devices unless something threatens the balance of the world. But who can really say for sure? The gods work in ways beyond our understanding."

Aether frowned, his mind racing with thoughts of the unknown. The gods of this world seemed to hold immense power, but their motives and actions were shrouded in mystery. It was a stark contrast to the gods he had encountered in his travels, who were often more direct in their interactions with mortals.

"I guess I'll have to be careful," Aether said quietly. "I don't want to get caught up in something beyond my control."

Lisa smiled gently, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "You're wise to be cautious, Aether. But remember, you're not alone in this. Whatever comes your way, you have friends here to support you."

Aether looked up at her and returned the smile, grateful for her words. "Thanks, Lisa. I'll keep that in mind."

Lisa then looked at Aether as she sat next to him. "As a fellow magic user, what type of magic to specialist in".

Aether just looked at she and chuckled. "I see but why don't you tell me first, after all what does a beautiful woman like you specialist in".

Lisa smiled at as she looked at him, liking how he flirting they are. "I specialise in lighting magic"

Aether raised an eyeshadow at that. "Really how is that difference from your vision".

Lisa just looked at him. "Simple Vision is pure creativity while magic is logical thinking and maths".

Lisa's eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief as she continued, "A Vision might give you the raw power, but magic allows for a greater range of control and precision. For example, with lightning magic, I can create intricate electrical patterns and manipulate them in ways that go beyond the simple lightning bolts you might see from a Vision."

Aether nodded, intrigued. "That sounds quite versatile. I suppose magic has its own unique advantages. As for me, my specialty lies in air and elemental manipulation. I use my abilities to control wind currents, enhance my agility, and create powerful wind-based attacks."

Lisa's curiosity was piqued. "Air manipulation, that's impressive. It must allow you to move swiftly and strike from unexpected angles."

Aether grinned. "Exactly. It also helps with defensive maneuvers and creating barriers. But I've been exploring other forms of magic too, combining elements and trying to push the boundaries of what I can do."

Lisa leaned in slightly, her interest evident. "That's fascinating. It's always exciting to see how different magic users innovate and blend their skills. It sounds like you've got quite a talent for pushing the limits."

Aether met her gaze with a playful smile. "I try to keep things interesting. And having someone like you around to discuss magic with makes it even better."

Lisa's cheeks flushed slightly at his compliment. "Well, I'm always here if you need someone to talk to about magic—or anything else."

As they continued their conversation, both felt a deeper connection forming, united by their shared interest in magic and their growing mutual respect.

Aether just looked at her. "So if I am getting this correct the thing holding back a Vision use it creativity aka Imagination and Magic holder is hold back by there logic".

Lisa nodded thoughtfully. "Exactly. Visions are more about harnessing raw energy and channeling it through creativity. They allow for a wide range of effects, but it's limited by one's imagination and personal flair. Magic, on the other hand, relies heavily on logical structure and precision. It's about understanding the principles and formulas behind the spells, which can lead to more controlled and refined outcomes."

Aether considered this. "So, while Visions are great for spontaneous and imaginative uses of power, magic can offer a more calculated approach. It makes sense that both have their unique strengths and applications."

Lisa smiled. "Yes, each has its own advantages. It's all about how you use them and how well you understand their underlying principles. The combination of creativity and logic can lead to some remarkable results."

Aether grinned. "I guess that means there's always something new to learn and experiment with, no matter what kind of power you wield."

Lisa's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. "Precisely. The journey of discovering and mastering magic—or any form of power—is endless. And it's always more exciting when you have someone to share that journey with."

Their conversation continued, each enjoying the exchange of ideas and experiences, deepening their understanding of each other's abilities and forging a stronger bond through their shared passion.

After the talk Aether went back to his room, as he close the door, Paimon came out thin air, she went back to her own pocked demention.

Paimon looked at Aether. "Paimon doesn't understand why you didn't tell her about mage craft, what is mage craft that you use".

Aether just looked at as he spoke. "Will as I told you mage craft is not the magic system of this world and it is complicated to buy it lightly".

Paimon tilted her head, curious. "But why not share a bit more? It could be helpful, and it might give them a better understanding of where you're coming from."

Aether sighed and settled into a chair. "Magecraft is a complex system that involves manipulating the world through a blend of arcane formulas, rituals, and esoteric principles. It's not just about casting spells—it's about understanding and applying the fundamental laws of magic in a highly precise way."

Paimon floated closer, her curiosity piqued. "So it's really different from the Vision-based magic they use here?"

Aether nodded. "Exactly. In Teyvat, Visions channel elemental energy through personal creativity, while magecraft requires detailed knowledge and application of magical theories. It's more structured and requires years of study to master."

Paimon pouted slightly. "But wouldn't it be cool to show them? It might help them understand you better."

Aether considered this. "It might, but magecraft is deeply tied to my world and its rules. Introducing it without the proper context could cause confusion or even disrupt the balance here. For now, it's better to focus on learning about and adapting to the magic of Teyvat."

Paimon nodded thoughtfully. "That makes sense. But if you ever feel like sharing more, Paimon is always here to listen."

Aether smiled, appreciating her understanding. "Thanks, Paimon. I'll keep that in mind."

Aether then looker at Paimon. "And then there is the biological aspect of Magic Circuit".

Paimon title her head in confused. "Magic Circuits?".

Aether leaned back and began to explain. "Yes, Magic Circuits are an integral part of magecraft. They're essentially channels within a mage's body that allow them to process and utilize magical energy. Each mage has a unique number and quality of Magic Circuits, which affects their magical capacity and abilities."

Paimon's eyes widened with interest. "So they're like the veins or nerves for magic?"

Aether nodded. "Exactly. Magic Circuits act like a conduit for magical power, allowing mages to cast spells, perform rituals, and use magecraft effectively. The more developed and efficient the circuits, the more powerful and versatile the mage's magic can be. It's a bit like having a more advanced magical infrastructure."

Paimon floated closer, clearly intrigued. "That sounds really complex. So does everyone have Magic Circuits?"

Aether shook his head. "Not everyone. In The Nasuverse, only those with a certain genetic predisposition have Magic Circuits. They're inherited and vary greatly between individuals. Some people might have very few or none at all, which limits their ability to use magecraft."

Paimon thought for a moment. "So it's a bit like how not everyone in Teyvat has a Vision, but everyone who does can use it differently?"

Aether smiled, pleased with her comparison. "Yes, that's a good way to put it. While Visions are more about innate talent and creativity, Magic Circuits are more about the physical capacity and structure for using magic. They're both essential, but they operate differently."

Paimon nodded thoughtfully. "Thanks for explaining, Aether. It's really interesting to learn about how magic works in different worlds."

Aether chuckled. "Glad you think so. There's always more to discover, and understanding different systems of magic can be fascinating."

To be continued
