Ghost Slayer: My Wife Kanao

Chapter 6: ch6

The boy's hand blocked Kanao's father's attempt to strike.

"What... are you doing? Why are you stopping me from teaching my daughter?" Kanao's father demanded angrily, staring at the boy in the bamboo hat. He tried several times to break free, but the boy's grip was like iron, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't escape.

Living in a slum, one might not have good vision, but they certainly don't lack the ability to perceive intent and emotion. He clearly sensed that the boy before him was not someone to be trifled with. Otherwise, he would have already tried to teach Sam Miller a lesson.

Sam lifted the bamboo hat, revealing his fair face. Kanao's father narrowed his eyes, taking a moment to recognize Sam.

"So it's my daughter's fiancé," he said with a light smile, dismissing it.

Sam waved his hand coldly, and Kanao's father felt a powerful force push him back several steps, almost knocking him to the ground.

"Take me to your daughter's bedroom," Sam said, looking at him with indifference.

This coldness made Kanao's father jump. "You... you b*****d... be polite to your future father-in-law!"

With a loud noise, Sam punched the wall next to him, creating a hole.

Kanao's father and Kanao's mother, who had rushed over, gasped and looked at Sam with obvious fear. Standing under the moonlight, Sam's golden pupils glanced coldly at the couple, who were hardly worthy of being called parents, and he repeated his request: "Take me to my fiancée's room."

As his indifferent eyes swept over them, the couple felt as if they were being targeted by imminent danger and shivered unconsciously. Not daring to say anything, they hurriedly led the way.

As they walked through the yard, a bald middle-aged man, seemingly startled by the commotion, came out and bumped into them.

"Master Ichiro Tamoya..." Kanao's father fawned, his face obsequious.

Ichiro Tamoya glanced at Kanao's father indifferently, then at Sam, and finally at Kanao, as if appraising goods. He showed a touch of satisfaction. "Is she your daughter?"

"Yes, Mr. Tamoya Ichiro," Kanao's father began to say, but the coldness made his hair stand on end. It was Sam's golden eyes staring at him again. For some reason, he was afraid of those eyes; they seemed truly frightening, like seeing a ghost.

"The daughter's room is on the right side," he hastily pointed, his hand trembling.

Sam ignored Kanao's father and the so-called Ichiro Tamoya staying at Kanao's house. He took Kanao's little hand and led her to her room.

It was more like a doghouse than a room. Seeing such a poor living environment, his eyes dimmed, and he looked at Kanao with a sense of pity.

"Is there anything you want to take with you?" he asked softly.

He had come not only to see how her parents could abuse her so, but also to take away anything that belonged to Kanao. He intended to take her away from this place.

After all, he didn't want Kanao to continue living in such an environment.

Kanao stood still, not moving. Sam frowned, realizing there might be nothing here that Kanao cared about. But in such a small room, like a kennel, everything could be seen at a glance, and there was nothing of value.

"Shall I take you out of here?" he asked, squatting down to look into Kanao's purple eyes with his golden ones.
