Give Me Your Hands and Marry Me

Chapter 78

Chapter 78 Shen Xinglan’s Decision

Ding V said, “I just passed by.” Then he sat down with a bowl of tomato soup and started to suck quickly.

Shen Xinglan held back his impulsion to hit him to death. If this guy hadn’t been there suddenly, Shen II would have shot them and brought them back for interrogating the masters behind the plot.

But still… He probably knew who the one was.

“Those guys said that it was you who gave them money to do it.” With a cup of coffee in her hand, A Miao thought about those guys’ words, drinking in small sips.

Shen Xinglan squinted his eyes a little bit. “So, you believe that?”

A Miao shook her head. “No, if you want to kill me, it wouldn’t be that troublesome.”

“I won’t do that. Don’t be cranky.” Shen Xinglan frowned.

A Miao put down her cup. “They mean that I covet your fiancée’s position, and you think I’m in the way.”

“So, Shen, do you know who he is?” Ding V finished his soup, asking casually.

“Now that he could clearly figure out my thoughts, he must be one of my so-called family members.” Shen Xinglan ironically smiled, “Originally, it turns out that they want to deal with you.”

A Miao was stupefied. “You mean… the Jis?” From a sudden reaction, she asked, “What do you mean by dealing with me?”

“Think about it, have you met Ji Yan recently?”

“Ji Yan?” A figure came into her mind. “No, I haven’t met him.”

Shen Xinglan reminded her and said, “Think it over. Have you met across something strange before?”

“Something strange…” A Miao began to recall what had happened to her last week, and then said suddenly, “Yeah, I bumped into someone at the door of a hotel. I apologized at the time, however, that guy dashed away.”

All of a sudden, her eyes brightened and said, “Back… my back… Ji Yan was just standing behind my back.”

She didn’t pay attention at that time, but now when she consciously recalled, she found that the guy behind her was exactly Ji Yan.

“But… why he wants to kill me?” A Miao felt that she was too innocent to be either kidnapped or tracked every day after she moved in. But now, it seemed to be more serious—it was fatal.

Probably being aware of the sadness in her eyes, Shen Xinglan puckered her lips and said with his head aslant, “Little V, have you finished all your business?”

“Almost done. I won’t go back in a short time.” Ding V looked up, asking, “You want me to protect her?”

Shen Xinglan glanced at A Miao and said, “Only protect, do not kill.”

“I know, the aftermath is very troublesome!” Ding V said with special consciousness and said, “How about crippling them?”

“I don’t want such person to protect me at all…” A Miao thought.

“Well, I need to remember her smell carefully.” Ding V stood up and walked towards A Miao.

The Jis.

“BOSS, Ji Yan has contacted with the government again.”

Shen Xinglan raised his head and said, “All right, keep on spying.”

It had been a week since her last incident—the tragic death of those young gangsters didn’t arouse any panic, as Shen II had already arranged people to deal with the scene at that time.

“He didn’t send anyone to shoot the young lady.” Shen II said, “I guess it was because there was no reaction of BOSS and they thought the young lady didn’t see him.”

Shen Xinglan closed his documents and said, “He is not an idiot. Presumably, he should know that there is someone around A Miao to protect her because of those few persons’ inexplicable disappearances.”

“By the way, BOSS, it will be the end of the month very soon.” Shen II put an album on Shen Xinglan’s table, “The auction you’ve said last time will be held next week.”

After casually turning a few pages, Shen Xinglan focused on one of the jade pendants.

“BOSS…” Shen II hesitated. “Did you still let the young lady do that?”

With uncertainty in his eyes, he waved his hand with eyes closed after a while. “Now, you can go.”

“Yes. BOSS.”

A Miao also knew this news. Of course, it was Jiang Hua who informed her.

“Just next Saturday, shall I pick you up at that time?”

“No, see you at the auction.” A Miao washed the lunch box and they two walked out of the cafeteria slowly. Jiang Hua suddenly smiled, and this aroused A Miao’s attention.

Jiang Hua shook his head and said, “Nothing, I just think that this semester will be over. But I’m afraid that you even haven’t remembered your classmates’ names?”

“…” A Miao grinned, as she really didn’t remember that.

“So, why don’t you communicate more often with your classmates? Do you know what they call you behind your back?”

A Miao shook her head. She rarely chatted with her classmates, and she did not join in group activities. Every day after class, she either threw herself to the library or returned to her single dormitory.

Jiang Hua frowned, “They say you have autism. Would you like to change your dormitory next semester?”

“No,” A Miao said immediately, “I am used to living alone.”

She had to make up every day, so it was much more convenient to live alone.

“But, what I’ve heard is different from yours.” She smiled suddenly. “So, have a guess?”

Jiang Hua smiled as well. “Something regarding me? Don’t take it seriously.”

A Miao curled her lip and said, “I don’t care. It didn’t matter at all.”

Although many students often came to Jiang Hua for questions and discussions, everyone found that he talked with A Miao most frequently.

Over time, there were some rumors about A Miao and Jiang Hua. Some jealous girls falsely claimed that A Miao wasn’t good-looking, but also dared to cast couch with professors.

“I’m seriously speaking. You should be more social.” Jiang Hua was a little bit helpless. “This is a community. You can’t be alone and don’t contact with others.”

Pointing to the screen time of her cellphone, A Miao said, “It’s time for class.”

“You…” Jiang Hua slightly waved his hand. “Well, just go, go!”

After a few steps, A Miao turned back and smiled, “I know what you said, and I will consider it.”

“Well, okay.”

In fact, A Miao wanted to contact her classmates on the beginning, but she accidentally heard the conversations among her classmates outside the toilet, which was probably about that she wasn’t the true most top student, and that she always wore a lofty look.

But the exact words were not as pleasant to hear as these. They piled all those sly words on her as if they didn’t pay anything for it. After that, A Miao gave up, and just learned and lived in her own way.

“A Miao, the greatest happiness of a person is to cry and laugh as you like. Don’t let yourself be wronged. Try to make yourself happy!”

This was what her mother often said. A Miao always remembered it and she would always maintain such a mentality.

However, life was often like this—it always dug a pit when you were not aware of it.

“Shen II…” She couldn’t help but ask him when she returned back to the school, “Does your BOSS have any concern recently?”

Shen II: Even you have perceived it.

“Nothing.” But he couldn’t say the reason why BOSS was struggling was just because of A Miao herself!

Also, A Miao didn’t believe it.

This week, Shen Xinglan always snuck a peek at her at home. At the very start, she thought it was an illusion. But later on, she caught him on the spot. When she was going to ask, Shen Xinglan shot a cruel glare and worn a “none-of-your-business” expression.

“Forget it, it doesn’t matter to me anyway.” A Miao knew that Shen II would never tell her, so she left the matter behind herself.

But when she went back on Friday, Shen Xinglan asked her to the living room.

“Check it out.”

A Miao picked up the album and her eyes flashed. This was exactly the jewelry antique auction which she and Jiang Hua were going to next night.

“It’s like… yours.” A Miao’s heart arose a sense of bad feelings.

Seeing her eyes vigilant suddenly, Shen Xinglan bowed their heads, “So, I want you to steal this jade pendant.”

“What are you talking about?” Her heart sank into disappointment, and she even deceived herself and thought she misheard.

Shen Xinglan looked up and said, “I said, you are supposed to steal this jade pendant.”

As if there was something splitting silently, and soon it broke into a little faint starlight, and finally fell into the abyss, with the absence of light.

“Okay.” A Miao slowly opened her mouth. “But the security system here should be very powerful. I am not good at dealing with those.”

Shen Xinglan nodded, “Shen II and Shen III will deal with those. They will create opportunities for you to get close to the jade pendant after the auction, and then you can exchange it with the fake one.”

After that, Shen Xinglan took out a white jade pendant from his pocket, exactly the same as that in the album.

“I get it.” A Miao took over and didn’t look at him, but stared at that jade pendant in her hand, as if there were words on it.

Shen Xinglan hesitated, but still opened his mouth to ask her, “Do you have any requirements?”

“Yes.” A Miao said immediately and made eye contact with this man for the first time tonight. “After the matter, our relationships will be canceled, and we are done here.”

The wide living room was silent, and even no breath of these two could be detected. That’s because A Miao really held her breath with her fists clenched and the same self-composed look as the opposite man.

His saying “the same” was simple as saying “did you eat”.

“Well, okay.”

Do not know how long it had been. A Miao hadn’t thought he would answer.

“So, what’s the concrete things? Discuss it tomorrow morning!” A Miao stood up and slowly walked upstairs.

She knew there was a man staring at her behind. Maybe something would be changed if she turned back. But she didn’t do that, for Shen Xinglan had already made a decision.

“BOSS…”

God II appeared in the living room.

“Actually, if brother V also goes, we may be able to steal it back by ourselves. Don’t trouble the young lady to do that.”

Shen Xinglan gave a glance flitted at him, “None of you has the ability to exchange the jade pendant without alarming anyone. Such thing about the jade pendant cannot attract anyone’s attention.”

Shen Xinglan raised his hand and said, “Tell her the action plan tomorrow.”

Shen II left with no words. He had no right to interfere and would never interfere Shen Xinglan’s any decision, even if this decision would make Shen regret and…

Overwhelmed with grief…

A Miao calmly returned to the room and firstly called Jiang Hua.

“I can’t go with you tomorrow.”

“No, Shen Xinglan will go there, so I have to accompany him.”

“Yes, see you at the auction! Good night.”

Didn’t know when she hung up, but it was still too long before she came to herself.

“Uh!” A Miao jumped out of bed. “I should be happy. I will be truly free after tomorrow!” She hummed into the bathroom and prepared to take a hot bath for a good sleep.

But when she blankly sat on the edge of the bathtub, waiting for the water to fill up, she didn’t realize that the bathroom had gathered a pool of water until her trousers came wet from an abrupt reaction.

“Oh my god!” A Miao pulled out the water plug quickly and watched water rapidly flowing into the sewer and finally swaying in the circular sewer, with several sounds of pop-pop.

As if everything hadn’t started, and no one… else had ever been there.
