Chapter 7
The broad-shouldered Hu Deyi was holding a butcher’s knife engraved with dragon patterns, and there was still blood foam and minced meat on the blade that had not been washed away.
He stood at the door and blocked the exit tightly. The security personnel were so frightened that they immediately raised their riot shields.
“Who are you? Put down your weapon immediately!” The security captain was on high alert, pointing at Hu Deyi and shouting.
Hu Deyi put the knife behind his back and fixed his gaze on the Gu family with calm eyes. “We are not here to make trouble, we are the victim’s family members, here to support him.”
The security captain gave Liu Jin’an a questioning look.
Liu Jin’an’s mouth twitched, and he nodded awkwardly.
When Gu Letian saw that Hu Deyi only looked fierce, he started to jump up and down again. “Brother Jin’an, after all, you are a bloodline of the Gu family. If you hang out with such a person, mother and father will be unhappy.”
“Hey, where did this annoying spirit come from?” Zhang Wenqian raised her beautiful eyebrows and looked sharply. “Open your mouth, mom and dad, shut up, mom and dad, what, are you not weaned yet?”
Gu Letian suddenly blushed and was about to retort.
Zhang Wenqian’s rhetoric came again: “Oh, I forgot, you are not a member of the Gu family at all. Your parents are human traffickers who are scolded by everyone, and specialize in harming good people’s children. Children born to human traffickers are also born with bad seeds. Someone who occupy other people’s homes is shameless enough to sow discord.”
When Gu Hongwu heard that Gu Letian was humiliated, he became furious and tried to get violent and hurt others.
Fortunately, the security personnel were on strict guard against him. The security captain even hit Gu Hongwu on the waist with a stick. “Be honest!”
Gu Letian was scolded so much that he had no power to refute, and tears welled up in his eyes. His pitiful appearance aroused Gu Hongwen’s desire for protection.
He protected Gu Letian behind him and said in a cold tone, “Apologize, otherwise I will make you regret what you did today!”
Liu Jin’an rolled his eyes. If the trouble continued, Gu Hongwen would definitely not let it go.
It was impossible to apologize, and there was no way he could return the money once it was in his hands.
“This matter ends here,” he said calmly, “I will no longer pursue the violent harm Gu Hongwu caused to me.”
Gu Hongwen frowned and raised his hand to stop him. “You haven’t apologized yet.”
Liu Jin’an raised his eyes, fire in his gaze. “If you want the Gu family to be on the front page of Longcheng Evening News, then you can continue to pursue it.”
“I wouldn’t give it a chance to be reported.”
“You can try it. Can you suppress it for a while or for a lifetime? When the truth is revealed, can the Gu family withstand the verbal and written criticism from all directions?”
Gu Hongwen’s eyes instantly became dangerous. “Are you threatening me? Very good, you are still the first one who dares to threaten me.”
Liu Jin’an smiled nonchalantly. “I thought I was giving advice. Everyone should take a step back. The sky is brighter, whether it’s you or me. If this continues, I’m going to call the police.”
“You want to call the police to arrest us?” Jiang Shulan said in surprise, with a hurt look on her face.
Liu Jin’an shook his head. “How could I call the police to catch you? Of course, I call the police to catch people who commit crimes, such as my adoptive parents who abducted me and abused me.”
“No, no, you can’t do this!” Gu Letian said subconsciously.
Liu Jin’an had long expected that Gu Letian would stop him. His adoptive parents were also Gu Letian’s biological parents. Once his adoptive parents went to prison, Gu Letian’s life would have another stain.
Otherwise, with the power of the Gu family, how could they not sue his adoptive parents after finding him?
He said calmly, “In this case, this matter ends here. You are unwilling to seek justice for me. It just so happens that I don’t want such a family. From now on, I have nothing to do with the Gu family.”
Passing the Gu family, he stood in front of Hu Jianye, with a relieved smile on his lips. “Uncle, aunt, Old Hu, let’s go.”
When going through the security check, Hu Deyi was told that the knife could not be brought on board the plane and that it would either be stored at the airport or have to go through the baggage with additional fee.
Hu Deyi looked troubled. This was his family’s ancestral butcher’s knife. It had been with him for decades. He felt uneasy without it.
“Let’s put it in the baggage.”
Liu Jin’an knew that going to Yuncheng this time meant cutting off their escape route, and if nothing else happened, they would not return to Longcheng.
The dragon-marked pig-killing knife was Hu Deyi’s ancestral possession. Maybe after being nourished by the element gallium, it might grow into a spiritual treasure. It would be a pity to throw it away like this.
The four of them packed up and boarded the plane together.
Looking out the window at the increasingly blurry buildings on the ground, the big stone in Liu Jin’an’s heart finally fell to the ground.
This was his first time flying.
The steel behemoth full of technology, the blue sky and white clouds just around the corner, everything was full of novelty.
As the plane rose higher and higher, the scenery on the land was unobstructed. The human figures were so small that they could not be seen clearly with the naked eye. Only the mountains and towering trees were left.
He didn’t know what the world in his eyes would look like after the end of the world.
But he knew that at this moment, the haze of childhood, the disgusting family care, and the feeling of powerlessness controlled by the plot were all forgotten.
The clear porthole reflected the young man’s delicate face.
Liu Jin’an chuckled.
“Congratulations on your new life,” he said to himself.
