Chapter 43 - Information Release Center! Head to the Supermarket!

Chapter 43: Information Release Center! Head to the Supermarket!

After placing 270 ghost coins on the counter, the man, now almost certainly Crazy Blade, turned to Lin Yu with a smile, “Brother, if you’re short on rent, I can lend you some!

“Funny thing, I once attended a ghost controller gathering, and a mysterious expert who controls high-level vengeful spirits took a liking to me! We hit it off, talked, and drank together, and in the end, he was so impressed by my potential that he insisted on giving me 1,000 fresh ghost coins!

“This stuff is rich in yin energy! One coin is worth 10 ghost currency!”

Crazy Blade bragged with pride.

Lin Yu opened his mouth slightly, wanting to say something, but in the end, he refrained from exposing Crazy Blade’s exaggeration and simply gave him a thumbs-up.

“Amazing!”

Though the Beyond Apartments looked modern, the Yin energy in ghost coins wasn’t fake, and ghosts didn’t care about the details, so it could be used to pay at face value.

Of course, if the paper ghost at the counter wanted to be difficult, it could refuse these ghost coins, but since Mad Blade was a fourth-rank ghost controller and could easily produce 2,700 ghost coins, and with Lin Yu, that “VIP” with unknown status, standing behind him, the paper ghost didn’t dare cause trouble, quickly topped up the amount, and handed the card back to Crazy Blade!

Crazy Blade pocketed the card and, as he walked toward the door, turned to Lin Yu, “Oh, by the way, brother, I didn’t catch your name!

“Seeing as you’re only a first-rank ghost controller yet made it into this rule-heavy instance with me, you must have boundless potential or had some unique encounter!

“My name’s Crazy Blade — same handle on the forum and in the horror game. If you’d like, let’s add each other as friends afterward!” Crazy Blade offered.

Lin Yu nodded.

It is indeed him!

However, since Crazy Blade had just given that whole exaggerated story, if he used the title “Emperor of Fengdu,” it would be pretty awkward, so Lin Yu decided to use a new alias.

“Feng Du.”

He chose this name as a homophone of “Fengdu.”

Crazy Blade heard it and, being straightforward, didn’t think much of it.

“Nice, sounds kind of understated but also cool…” Crazy Blade then looked toward the Information Center. “Brother Feng Du, how about we take a look over there?”

Lin Yu was thinking the same thing and readily agreed.

“Sure, Brother Crazy Blade.”

The two of them walked to the door of the Information Center and entered.

The setup was even simpler than the Payment Center, with only a large “bulletin board” and a clock!

The clock showed just past nine o’clock!

It was clearly “9 a.m.”

The board was covered in notices, and a thin paper ghost sat below, looking sluggish in a tank top and flip-flops, with a sign beside it.

The ghost’s strength was also that of a small vengeful spirit.

The wooden sign displayed three lines in black text:

[Post announcement, 10 ghost currency each!].

[Payment by card only, no credit!].

[Prominent placement, additional charge!].

Looking at the posted announcements, they were all very down-to-earth!

[Laundry: hiring part-time washers! No base pay! Paid per item!].

[Blood Moon Restaurant: hiring chefs, assistants; hourly rate negotiable!].

[Long-term recycling of various Yin materials; interested parties knock on Room 1511!].

[Lost ghost gnawing rat; finder please contact Room 2203 for a reward!].

[Beyond Convenience Store: hiring clerks, hourly pay of 70; come quickly if interested.].

[Selling specialty Yin medicine, Room 0907!].

[Hiring cleaners and caretakers; inform the paper ghost in charge of the Information Center if interested!].

Most of the notices were recruitment ads from tenants and shops within Beyond Apartments, with a few lost and found or sales notices.

Crazy Blade looked at these announcements, nodding slightly.

“So that’s how it is… if you don’t have ghost currency, or not enough of it, you’ll need to ‘work’ to earn it!”

“Entering as a worker in these shops will definitely mean following additional rules and facing more dangers!”

Crazy Blade analyzed, making his point clearly.

This was similar to Lin Yu’s guess, and he nodded, saying, “But fortunately, neither of us needs to work! That’s good news!”

Crazy Blade was somewhat surprised by Lin Yu’s words, seeing he had managed to gather 2,500 ghost currency as well?

Still, each ghost controller likely had their own resources and secrets, so while Crazy Blade was curious, he didn’t ask further.

“In that case, let’s go check out the first floor!”

“Since we’ll be here for three days, we’ll need some supplies!”

Crazy Blade suggested.
