Global Lord: My Undead Can Undergo Fission

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Exploring the Underground Tomb

"Three forks in the road, split the troops and search for me," Fang Jie commanded with a wave of his hand, and his skull soldiers began to march down the different paths.

Soon after, fighting noises came from the left fork. After the noises died down, Fang Jie walked in and saw a mess of corpses and some open coffin lids.

"They climbed out to attack, huh? The combat power is not bad. Too bad there's nothing good left around," Fang Jie checked thoroughly to ensure there were no secret passages, then retreated.

Before long, there was also a battle in the right fork.

But unlike the left, which seemed to be a burial ground for people, the ground on the right was littered with corpse bones.

Looking at the state of the bones, it was impossible to tell how they had died. However, both sides ended the same way, with no further paths to delve deeper, so only the middle route could be correct.

Fang Jie followed the middle path and quickly found a large underground cavern.

"More zombies, quite a few this time." As the skull soldiers entered, a multitude of zombies rose from the ground. Some crawled out of coffins, others were simply lying on the floor.

Zombie Level 2: Level (Apprentice)

The zombies before him lumbered forward slowly, their movements no match for the skull soldiers', but their defenses were stronger. The skull soldiers' attacks only chopped off pieces of flesh, barely inflicting any serious damage.

Every attack from a zombie could fracture a bone of a skull soldier.

But there were more skull soldiers, and after a few strikes, the zombies would be chopped into pieces.

After searching, Fang Jie, upon pushing aside a large coffin, found a path leading down.

"Of course it's not that simple. You all, go down," commanded Fang Jie with a wave of his hand, sending his skull soldiers below. But as soon as they descended, a battle erupted immediately.

Judging by the intensity of the noises, this fight was fierce.

After the battle ended, Fang Jie only took a glance down below before quickly ascending.

Rotten Corpse Level 3: Level (Apprentice) The decaying body breeds special bacteria, easily infecting other creatures.

Seeing this special tag, Fang Jie dared not approach. What if he caught the virus and died? In this place, not to mention a doctor, even medicine was scarce.

His own safety was paramount; there was absolutely no room for recklessness.

"Bring down the skull soldiers from above and fetch some firewood to burn these corpses."

As Fang Jie gave the orders, he walked to the ground, not daring to stay in this place any longer. Fang Jie decided in his heart that once the exploration was complete, he must let these skull soldiers stand under the sun for a good disinfecting.

Once back on the surface, Fang Jie breathed deeply, savoring the fresh air.

"Wait, why is it depleting so rapidly? What kind of enemy have they encountered?"

Fang Jie was puzzled because he sensed his skull soldiers dying in large numbers. Though they were a drop in the bucket for him—only about five thousand of his skull soldiers had entered the Underground Tomb—the rate of depletion was definitely unusual. If not due to a great number of enemies, then there must be an entity on the Black Iron Level.

However, the battle didn't last long, and after a loss of over three hundred skull soldiers, it finally concluded.

"This Underground Tomb is dangerously tricky for anyone at the present stage to have more than three hundred regular soldiers, right? I just wonder what benefits might be gleaned this time," Fang Jie was somewhat excited.

After a thorough search, the underground was picked clean, and only then did the skull soldiers return to the surface. In their midst, they carried a black Black Iron Treasure Chest and a variety of odd items, mostly of little value.

They brought these items to the surface because Fang Jie was uncertain of their potential uses.

As for the corpses, Fang Jie could only discard them. Since the corpses of the undead couldn't be turned into undead creatures, at least Fang Jie had no way to utilize them for now, and he didn't want his dwelling to reek of decay.

Zombies differed from skeletons as undead; the smell emanating from their bodies was more than what most could bear.

Fang Jie approached and opened the Black Iron Treasure Chest; three items appeared on the ground.

Solid Stone Synthesis Diagram, Tomb Blueprint (Black Iron), Soldier Card: Iron Armor Zombie 100

Solid Stone Synthesis Diagram: Recipe requires 2 units of Stone, needs Material Warehouse.

Tomb Blueprint (Black Iron): Allows construction of a grave (Black Iron) within the Territory, requiring 200 units of Solid Stone, 100 Corpses, 20 Black Iron Corpses, and Village Level Territory.

Soldier Card: Iron Armor Zombie 100, summon a hundred Iron Armor Zombies.

"So Solid Stone needs a diagram for synthesis, then Hardwood should be the same, I was deliberating where to find them, now it seems even more troublesome, hoping these diagrams aren't too scarce."

It just wasn't expected that these diagrams would require a Material Warehouse to use, it seems they must be synthesized within the warehouse.

If there is no Material Warehouse, aren't the blueprints useless?

As for the Tomb Blueprint, it should be like the Soldier blueprints for the Skeleton Conversion Field. Yet, the construction requires a certain Territory Level, and if it doesn't meet the standard, it might not be possible to construct.

Only corpses, truly unexpected.

"Move quickly, bring up all the corpses, wait, not the Rotten Corpses."

Thinking of those virus-laden things, Fang Jie couldn't bear the thought.

It wasn't long before the corpses were carried up. To Fang Jie's surprise, there were only ten Black Iron Level Iron Armor Zombie corpses. The many deaths of his skull soldiers were simply due to the sheer number of other zombies.

In the confined space, zombies could exert far more combat power than skeletons.

"Wait, there are also Goblin Lord corpses in my territory, just the thing I need."

Fortunately, he hadn't disposed of those corpses. With this thought, Fang Jie wasted no time on further concerns and headed back. Armed with Black Iron Level combat strength, his territory would surely be safer.

Today was the last day, after it passed, the protection on the territory would vanish.

Fang Jie hadn't forgotten that Earth had just joined the All Heavens Hunting Ground. Uncountable worlds had been devoured in it, their inhabitants having developed for who knows how long.

Even without something like a Lord's Cottage, he believed the talents of other races were formidable.

Therefore, the primary task was to quickly enhance the strength of his territory. Fang Jie led his troops to return, yet on the way, he suddenly saw a very tall structure not far away.

"What is that? It looks like a cone; there wasn't such a thing when we came."
