The clean, mirror-smooth cut killed Xiao Lu instantly.

Lin Xuyang leapt to the side, rolling off the vehicle. The tumble left him dizzy and disoriented, but seeing Qin Feng approaching sent him into a panic. He scrambled backward in fear.

“Don’t! Don’t come any closer! I wasn’t trying to kill her, I just missed with my shot!” Lin Xuyang frantically pleaded.

“Lin Xuyang, you didn’t expect this day to come, did you?” Qin Feng took one cold step forward after another, his eyes brimming with ice-cold resolve.

“We… we know each other?” Lin Xuyang asked, confused.

I recognized Qin Feng from the earlier investigation, but why did Qin Feng seem to know me so well? We never met before.

“Of course we know each other. I’m your enemy from a previous life!” Qin Feng laughed coldly, advancing further.

Lin Xuyang’s face paled, and suddenly he shouted toward Qin Feng’s rear, “Are you going to just watch me die without helping?”

Suddenly, an unexpected twist occurred. He Feng, who had been watching the fight from the sidelines, suddenly attacked, aiming a deadly claw strike at Chuchu’s neck.

He Feng was, shockingly, a co-conspirator of Lin Xuyang, intending to capture Chuchu to use her as a bargaining chip.

However, Chuchu, as if expecting the attack, sidestepped the claw strike. She delivered a powerful kick, unleashing strength beyond a normal Elementalist, sending He Feng flying.

The sudden turn of events caught both Lin Xuyang and He Feng off guard.

“Why did you do this?” Chuchu’s hands trembled, her voice laced with sorrow.

Chuchu’s heart softened, and slowly, she lowered her gun.

But at that very moment, He Feng’s eyes flashed with malice. He launched a sneak attack, swinging his blade toward her head. Yet, Chuchu’s innate combat instincts kicked in.

She evaded the strike with ease, and with a swift movement, she raised her gun and fired, hitting He Feng right between the eyes.

He Feng’s eyes widened in terror as he collapsed slowly to the ground, dead.
