Glorious Smash

Chapter 2: Visiting Old Friends and Warning

Brimming yellow sunlight arose through the whole area of Gloricon such as Teldrium, a vast city inhabited by bizarre-shaped buildings. Crimson bolts of lightning-shaped buildings with a high skyscraper, a giant bluish tubular tower that shone the glistening violet light, and many others were crystal clear examples.

Several holographic, human-size muscular capes or slender masked woman projections were displayed edge of the road. There was even a giant holographic screen in the middle of the building replaying the recording of the five masked figures who stood in the middle of the sun, planting enthusiasm from the kids below as they screamed excitedly.

Enlightening colorful cars or motorcycles smoothly hovered on the top of the road below, firing more sparks from their engines. Vehicles like hovering white buses maintained the artwork of the Gloricon's finest Superheroes on the rear such as the suit girl with a long twin-tail head, triangular mask man, and many others.

Restaurants and cafes also based their main thematic for the interiors on the chosen superheroes. One of the cafes was named, VWX Blast and located on the west side of Gloricon. Glittering paint covered the front row of the building, consisting of the trio colors as the dominant spotlight: ashen on the left, cotton-white on the middle, and lastly misty grey on the right.

A greyish projection of the armored man flexing both of his muscles presented on the middle of the rooftop. More specifically, the man's projection contained the W glasses with both the side part resembling the half part such as the the letter V on the left and the letter X on the right.

Inside the cafe, glimmering light grey and white flashed through the above interior and even the floor of the cafe. Reflective burly pillars stood on the side areas of the crowded cafe, replaying the tape of the armored man unleashing the giant blast to the sky that formed the letter X.

On the crowd of customers who spent time on the floating X or W-shaped solid projection acting as the table, Gdark occupied the seat near the window and sipped his cup of coffee. He now wore a long magenta trench coat, black long-sleeve with striking red lines, and metallic white pants. Then, he placed his cup and centered his stare toward the tidy black suit man with a long grey pant and patched his eyes with the white glasses that took the shape of the letter W.

"Gdark, my old friend, what exciting thing you got from your ten-year journey?" The suited man asked, rubbing his chin in curiosity.

Gdark chortled confidently and crossed his arms, "Plenty of experience, knowledge, and forging more inventions for preparing my debut."

"Is it include handling the mental trauma or balancing your life as a Superhero and normal civilian?" The suited man guessed with expressing his teasing grin.

"Those things, it's a piece of cake to learn, Glasses Freak," Gdark taunted, resting his crossed arms and taking another sip of the coffee.

The suited man grunted, "Stop calling that name for god sake."

"Fine Layfree," Gdark uttered, placing his coffee on the table. "How's your experience as a member of Triumph Makers?"

Layfree cleared his throat, "At first it's quite hard with more powerful foes and responsibilities. I could adapt to it.

"Eventually, it turned me into a better Superhero than before," Layfree uttered, "Something I never believe will happen and the suit you gave me certainly helped me too!!"

"Not only several restaurants or cafes based on my name like this one, but I also finally engaged in a relationship with Cangata," Layfree admitted with a cheerful grin, taking a bite of the piece of chocolate bread from his plate.

Gdark rolled his eyes and teased with an ominous grin, "Oh yes, finally dating your fellow Superhero ally. That's one of your pathetic dreams too. Let's hope it will not end in a literal disaster."

Layfree burst out ridiculing laughter that made his stomach shake, raising the pitch the longer he pointed his gaze toward his long-time friend. Gdark quickly washed away his ominous grin and replaced it with a jolly smirk, leaning his tiresome back to the bluish holographic table.

Even though they hadn't encountered each other for ten years, Gdark's prideful demeanor remained the same and even prolonged Layfree's laughter, coughing to reduce it. As the laughter was put to rest, the suited man promptly cleaned the tears that were shed below his glasses.

"Ten years of long travel didn't soften you. Instead, you become more arrogant and prideful, especially with the recent insult," Layfree complimented. "Sometimes I missed seeing your smugness and the harsh comment too whenever you gave me the torturing training back then."

"I bet you still think Prilla is your trophy girl when you succeed on your insane life goal!?" Layfree guessed, marking his finger toward the calmed Gdark.

Gdark nodded. "Obviously"

"Come on dude, you can just ask her for a date," Layfree insisted, lifting his open hands. "This is the best opportunity as she already broke up with Scrap Devil. Even better, she's still single. Also, it's not good to treat Prilla like a trophy girl.

"Besides, what if she is already engaged with someone else?" Layfree added with a provoking whisper.

"I believed Prilla would just break up those unsuitable partners," Gdark assumed brazenly

Layfree exhaled a heavy breath and said, " Whatever you said. You're indeed still the same odd person I befriended with, the same person who trained me. I'm glad to have you back, prideful jerk."

"I'm very much bet when you become a Superhero in here, you will refuse my help?" Layfree provoked.

Gdark smirked expectantly, "It's an obvious answer. To become the best ones, I, Gdark will reject any assistance."

"I might respect you and your team members as a competent superhero, but in my eyes, your aids to me will be a nuisance in my eyes." Gdark avowed, drawing his fingers above.

Layfree fluttered his hand and uttered, "My guess is correct then."

The conversation was interrupted Layfree suddenly felt a telepathic touch within his mind, holding the right side of his forehead. Gdark centered his watchful gaze toward his long-time friend who bowed his head, planting cautious eyebrows on his expression as he digested the message.

"It's your lucky day for your heroic debut since I got a telepathic call from Cangatha. I and the other Triumph Makers have to attend the mission in the East," Layfree announced, sighing and getting up from his chair.

"Uprising Venoms return to bring terror again. Most likely, they bring large forces." Layfree added.

"Quite please to hear that," Gdark uttered in deep happiness, finishing his coffee and wiping out the remains on his lips.

"Okay then, make sure your Superhero debut went smoothly if some Supervillain is appearing here, prideful jerk," Layfree taunted, walking past his friend and tapping his shoulder.

Gdark eagerly grinned, "Not just smoothly, but perfectly executed, Glasses Freak."

"I'm eager to test my backpack on a poor Supervillain who showed up today," Gdark uttered.

A few hours passed and the city was still filled by a crowd of people on the sidewalk and a group of hovering vehicles on the bright road. Inside the hovering busses full of people, some teenagers consisting of two boys and three girls fixated their gazes on the thin rectangular screen on the front.

The tab-size screen presented the videotape of the Superhero teams releasing their blasts or vigorous punches toward the colossal robot together, sinking into the depths of the ocean. They enthusiastically dropped their jaws after the screen blinked into a completely dark, trading their excited stares.

"I think the new member of Triumph Makers is amazing or possibly better than the previous one," The glasses blonde-haired girl complimented. "They may be young, but they are pretty efficient at defeating all their foes, especially with their spectacular teamwork."

The long black-haired boy shook his head and argued, "Nah, they're lucky because the current villain is much more of a show-off."

"Come on. Look at the Sirgion, the long-gone Triump Makers were able to defeat all of the members of The Chaostors at once," The black-haired boy uttered.

"But he only relies on his strength, which leads him to his downfall," The blonde-hair girl uttered. "He became powerless because of his stubbornness."

The teenagers continued to argue and raise their voices as the bus hovered forward, recently passing a particular building on the right. A white-gleaming and wafer-thin pillar carried the bubbly object building on the cloudy top. A reflective aqua-blue building safely contained well-neat uniform guests who had a relieving late lunch.

People who were inside the bubbly building were also silently observed by one person from below. More precisely, a black-cloaked figure who lifted his golden goggles that brimmed the tiny flock of bluish sparks, standing in the dark alley away between the red diamond-surface building and the enlightening brown building with the shape resembling a bag.

"Those rich scumbags will soon endure my unending desire for vengeance' A raspy and heated voice came out from the cloak figure. "Rich people who only cared about themselves, not the poor people that they forced to work."

The cloaked figure giggled as he stepped forward and murmured, "Thankfully, those pesky Triump Makers members had a mission in The East area. It is indeed much easier to do it!!"

"Ah yes, I'm going to slaughter all of those rich people!!" The cloaked figure shouted with his mangling voice, leasing the steaming golden smoke from his neck. "Nobody will not stop the terror of Wrathful Slug."

"Nobody, nobody, nobody can stop me this time!!!" Wrathful Slug bickered, tossing the cloak from covering his eyes and removing the glasses from his sight to unveil his true appearance to Gloricon.

A man with a wooden brown and balmy hat that closely resembled the centipede's body alongside the pair of beaming red ant-antenna above. Wrathful Slug had a head that was made of hardened dark brown insectoid skin and a mouth planted by the shiny top of the navy blue trumpet. He also lifted his green tarantula-furred arms. Wrathful Slug contained slimy golden skin on his thin body shape, covering his holed chest with a broken green rug. Pristine white dragonfly wings on his back stretched upward when he tilted his head to the right, dragging his lower limbs that were ivy-green, praying mantis legs with amber orbs latching on both his knees.

The dragonfly wings consistently flapped and lifted him further to the sky, embarking the surge of golden electricities on both his arms. The ant-antlers triggered the reverberating soundwave, sleeving Wrathful entire arms with the red energy vines. It leads him to mash them together, emanating the rocketing sparks on his wings.

"Gigant Centipede head my call and aid me to reach the Pristine Tower," Wrathful Slug chanted, channeling the huge flock of sparkles that bestrewed out from his flapping dragonfly's wings.

Furthermore, the sparkles gathered beneath Wrathful Slug's mantis feet, merging to pop out a new object to aid his quest for vengeance. A new object was a giant black centipede with a pair of bird wings on its tail holding The Insectoid Caster with its back, hissing an ear screeching noise that flew him upward.

Citizens nearby who accidentally caught the sighting of the criminal dropped their petrified jaws. Some citizens who were on the sidewalks near the alley gasped loudly and shiveringly tried to sprint, having them being consumed by the incoming danger from Wrathful Slug's presence.

"It's the…..WRATHFUL…..SLUG!!!" A brown jacket man shouted in distress, hastily running.

Wrathful Slug bumped his hand onto the centipede's head, commanding it to roar and amplifying sparkles on the wings. Hence, the centipede launched like a jet plane especially with the dozen of wind stream past by, heading into the bubbly building for its vengeful destination.

Businessmen or businesswomen who spent their time chatting and feasting on the porcelain triangular holographic tables inside the building began to have their ears echo the rough noise of the rocketing smoke. Most of them centered their anxious sights toward the windows on the right.

"OH NO, OH NO!!!' A long-haired red-haired woman with a blue dress cried out after she watched the sighting of Wrathful Slug fleeing closer into the building's direction.

"He must…be coming to kill us all," A wrinkled face man with a black suit suspected, lifting his feet and trying to retreat.

The ivory light from the spinning lamp in the middle above spontaneously transitioned into all red before resonating the high-pitched noise, signaling the emergency of the Supervillain. An incoming assault from Wrathful Slug who was ready to exact his revenge as he crashed the centipede on the window, shattering them with ease.

As Wrathful Slug invaded the room and upraised his arms, the people inside screamed in uncontrollable horror. The frightened screams also evoked a couple of growing bright blue, human-size twisters near the broken windows, driving The Insectoid Caster to dart his heedful sight onto them.

The twisters simultaneously dissipated, spawning the azure-framed and skeletal body-shaped robots who raised themselves from the kneeling positions. They maintained a purplish U-shape shield vest on their chests and V-shape red glasses with tiny black dots on the left and right sides.

"Emergency U-V droids will not disturb my path of revenge!!!" The Insectoid Caster yelled, covering his persistent vengeance on the rest of the people inside.
