Chapter 10
Chapter 10
『 Translator – Divinity 』
“These are tiger eyebrows.”
At the Bamboo Sword Goblin’s words, Tae-pung took the glasses and examined the lenses. Even though they looked like very old glasses, the lenses were very clean, and he could see through them very clearly.
That meant the lenses had a prescription.
“It seems like they have a prescription?”
“They’ll adjust to your eyesight when you wear them.”
Tae-pung carefully put on the glasses as instructed.
Swoosh!
And just like that, everything looked sharp and clear.
‘Just by wearing these glasses, I can see this clearly?’
His eyesight was normal, and he didn’t need glasses. But with the glasses on, his vision was so much clearer that it was a noticeable difference.
“But tiger eyebrows? Are they like the goblin headband?”
“They’re different, but… you don’t need to know the details. If there’s a book you need, focus your eyes and think of the title or author. Then you’ll see the location of the book. Think of it as a kind of book navigation system.”
“Ah…”
As Tae-pung nodded and fiddled with the temples of the glasses curiously, the Bamboo Sword Goblin said,
“If you don’t like the design, touch the frame and think of the design you want, and it will change. If you’re not sure, you can just copy a design from a luxury eyewear magazine or something.”
With that, the Bamboo Sword Goblin walked towards the end of the library. At the very end, which would take a while to reach on foot, there was a door, and that was where the Bamboo Sword Goblin lived.
Of course, Tae-pung had never been inside.
Tae-pung watched the Bamboo Sword Goblin go for a moment, then stroked the glasses he was wearing.
“But what are tiger eyebrows anyway?”
He knew what a tiger looked like, but tiger eyebrows… he had never paid attention to whether they existed or not.
Of course, since it was an animal, it would have eyebrows.
“They’re not really made from tiger eyebrows, are they?”
Thinking this, Tae-pung fiddled with the glasses for a moment, then turned his head towards the lined-up bookshelves.
“Luxury eyewear magazine.”
He wasn’t sure if there was a magazine that only featured glasses, but he focused his eyes and muttered softly, and a small arrow appeared in his vision.
Just as the Bamboo Sword Goblin had said, the arrow was pointing somewhere like a navigation system.
Following the arrow, Tae-pung saw magazines placed on a display stand.
There was a wide variety, from fashion magazines to cooking magazines. Among the numerous magazines, the arrow was pointing at one.
Upon checking, it was indeed an eyewear magazine. Perhaps it was published overseas, as there was no Korean, only English.
“I only need to see the designs anyway.”
Tae-pung muttered softly and flipped through the magazine. He liked a pair of black glasses with a sophisticated design, so he stopped at that page and touched the frame with his hand.
“Is this how you do it?”
As he muttered and looked at the glasses in the magazine, he saw the color of the frame change in an instant.
He couldn’t confirm if the frame design was changing because he was wearing the glasses, so Tae-pung took them off and looked.
The glasses had transformed into the ones in the magazine. Tae-pung smiled as he saw the luxurious design and the brand logo clearly embedded in the temple.
“I think I’m getting the hang of this.”
Tae-pung looked at the pictures of other glasses on different pages and changed the frame into various designs.
And each time, he took out his phone and took pictures of himself.
After choosing the frame that he thought suited him best, Tae-pung looked at the bookshelves.
“Let’s clean first and then look for the book.”
Muttering softly, Tae-pung approached the storage room where the cleaning tools were kept. Standing in front of the storage room door, Tae-pung took the yellow key out of his pocket.
“She said it works like a game macro.”
Tae-pung muttered and recalled how macros worked in games.
First, it was important to set the starting point. If the starting point was wrong, the macro settings could get messed up.
Tae-pung held the yellow key and muttered,
“Let’s clean.”
With that thought, a faint light emanated from the yellow key and then disappeared.
Seeing this, Tae-pung didn’t delay and opened the storage room door, entering. He then came out carrying the cleaning supplies.
“Save.”
Tae-pung said “save” as a test, like using a macro program, and looked at the yellow key.
It didn’t seem to have changed much. Tae-pung looked at the key and put the supplies back where they belonged.
After closing the door and coming out, Tae-pung held the key and said,
“Let’s clean, start.”
As soon as Tae-pung finished speaking, his body started moving.
“Huh?”
Tae-pung’s body, in bewilderment, was already opening the storage room door and coming out with the cleaning supplies.
And when he reached the spot where he had just been standing, his body stopped. Realizing that his body had moved exactly as before, Tae-pung looked at the cleaning tools in his hand with a dumbfounded expression.
“What is this?”
His actions had been saved. And quite well… But it was completely different from what Tae-pung had imagined.
What Tae-pung had in mind was that the cleaning tools would clean automatically, following the memorized movements.
But… this was about saving his body movements and then following those movements himself.
Tae-pung looked at the yellow key with a dumbfounded expression and quickly took out his phone.
Then he called the Cauldron Goblin.
—Tae-pung!
Tae-pung couldn’t help but smile at the Cauldron Goblin’s cheerful voice as she answered the phone.
It felt good to have someone answer the phone so enthusiastically. Even if it was a goblin… and even if he felt a bit tricked.
“I’m sorry to call so early in the morning.”
—No, no. I haven’t slept yet because I was writing.
“The boss also seemed to be writing without sleeping, so I guess you all write at night?”
—Nighttime is good for emotional work.
Tae-pung said cautiously, listening to the Cauldron Goblin’s laughing voice,
“I tried using the key.”
—Oh yeah? How is it? Do you like it?
“Well… It’s me who moves.”
—Right.
“Was that, was that correct?”
—Yes, it is.
At the Cauldron Goblin’s confident answer, Tae-pung hesitated for a moment and then asked,
“Then wouldn’t it be better if I just cleaned myself? Is there really a need to use the club?”
He tried to ask indirectly, in a way that conveyed, “I’m not offended, I’m just curious,” and the Cauldron Goblin said,
—But you don’t have to think while cleaning. Your body moves automatically.
“That’s… true.”
—How convenient is it that your body automatically moves and cleans for you.
Tae-pung sighed softly at the Cauldron Goblin’s words and said,
“I understand.”
—Okay. Ah! I uploaded my novel, so please take a look.
“Okay.”
Ending the call with that, Tae-pung sighed and looked at the key.
“It wasn’t about the cleaning tools moving and cleaning by themselves.”
He had thought that once he cleaned, it would clean automatically after that. So from tomorrow onwards, he was planning to turn on the macro and do other things or read books…
But the cleaning macro had to be done by himself. Tae-pung looked at the key for a moment, sighed, and nodded.
“Well, even game macros require the character to move accordingly.”
After muttering this, he put the cleaning tools back in the storage room and closed the door.
Then he held the key and said,
“Let’s clean.”
With that, Tae-pung opened the door himself, took out the cleaning tools, and prepared to clean.
It might not be as convenient as he had imagined, but it seemed better than nothing. Once he set it up, he could clean automatically without having to think deeply or pay attention.
Thinking that it was still better than nothing, Tae-pung started cleaning.
First, he dusted and wiped the bookshelves and mopped the floor. Of course, it was a simple task, but it took quite a while because the library was so vast.
Washing the rags, pushing the mop, shaking out the mop, and cleaning again… After doing all that, it was well past 11 o’clock.
Tae-pung organized the cleaning supplies, put them back in the storage room, and saved the macro.
“Save.”
Whoosh!
A red light emanated from the key.
And then, Tae-pung’s phone rang.
Surprised by the sudden call, Tae-pung checked the phone screen.
「Cauldron Goblin」
Tae-pung answered the phone.
“Hello.”
—I’m calling because there’s an error with the goblin club.
“An error?”
Tae-pung looked at the key emitting a red light.
‘Does this red light mean an error?’
As Tae-pung was thinking this, the Cauldron Goblin said,
—It seems like you created macros with the same name.
“The same name… Ah! That’s right.”
Come to think of it, he had created the first macro with “Let’s clean” and the second one with “Let’s clean” as well.
It seemed like an error occurred because he saved two macros with the same command.
—Hold on a second…
With that, a yellow light emanated from the key.
—Done.
“What is?”
—I added a game system-like function to the key for your convenience. Think of it as a macro list.
“Macro list.”
Whoosh!
A square screen appeared before Tae-pung’s eyes. And there…
「1. Let’s clean (Duration 00:00:54)
2. Let’s clean (Duration 03:26:32)
– Macros with the same name exist. Please delete one or change the name.」
A message like a system window in a game screen appeared.
—You see two identical commands on the screen, right?
“Yes.”
—I thought it would be inconvenient for you to use it just by explaining, so I added functions like an item used in a game. Just use it like you play a game. Okay, use it well.
Tae-pung ended the call with the Cauldron Goblin and looked at the screen for a moment.
“She said to use it like in a game, right?”
Tae-pung pressed the “Let’s clean” with the shorter time with his finger, as if pressing the name that appeared above Cha Im-beom’s head.
「Delete/Change Command」
When the system window appeared, Tae-pung pressed delete to erase it.
Then the macro disappeared, and only one “Let’s clean” remained.
Tae-pung positioned himself again and activated the “Let’s clean” macro.
Tae-pung’s body automatically opened the storage room door and went inside. Then he came out with the cleaning tools.
Watching his body automatically start cleaning, Tae-pung glanced at one corner of his vision.
The currently running macro and its duration were displayed there.
‘It’s working fine. Then to turn it off… it must be the stop button.’
As soon as he looked at the stop button next to the macro and thought about pressing it, his body stopped.
Halt!
And Tae-pung staggered for a moment.
He lost his balance because his moving body suddenly stopped.
“I need to… be prepared when stopping it in the middle.”
If he stopped the macro in an awkward position, he could easily fall.
After checking the macro function in various ways, Tae-pung put the key in his pocket. Then, looking at the bookshelves, he touched the frame of his glasses and focused his eyes.
“Honey Bucket Goblin’s book.”
As soon as Tae-pung muttered this, an arrow appeared.
Tae-pung followed the arrow and found the books it was pointing to on one of the bookshelves.
Tae-pung took out one of the books.
Author: Honey Bucket Goblin
He looked at the covers of the other books, and although the main characters were all different, the author was the Honey Bucket Goblin for all of them.
“Let’s see. Who was the main character I met yesterday?”
Tae-pung quickly flipped through each book and opened the last page. Since it happened yesterday, it would be written towards the end.
After flipping through the books, Tae-pung soon found the book that dealt with the story of the person he met yesterday.
It was the main character of the first book, Oh Jang-hyeok. Tae-pung put the other books back on the shelf, sat down on a chair in the reading room, and started reading Oh Jang-hyeok’s book.
Oh Jang-hyeok was an unpopular, so-called “kkondae” bully boss.
He took it for granted that he would overload his subordinates with work and squeeze the subcontractors.
And…
He had even followed a fire truck on its way to a fire scene. This was because if he drove behind a fire truck with its siren blaring, he wouldn’t get stuck in traffic. Tae-pung frowned upon learning that Oh Jang-hyeok had committed a similar selfish act like the one he witnessed yesterday.
“This guy is a repeat offender.”
As Tae-pung muttered softly in an annoyed voice, an irritable voice came from the book.
[Hmph! If you don’t want to read it, then don’t. I didn’t write this book for you.]
Tae-pung was startled by the sudden voice.
“Honey Bucket Goblin?”
[Hmph!]
Tae-pung’s face hardened at the voice that snorted as if reading his mind.
