Chapter 12: Heavenly Tribulation

Nothing much happened in the next few days since her visit as he continued to spend his days resting and cultivating.

Oh, he also broke through the Ninth stage of Qi Refining after suppressing his cultivation for many days.

A month later

After cultivating for a month, he was now at the Peak Ninth Stage of qi refining which was also the limit of qi refining stage.

The next step was the Foundation Establishment Stage which was the true first step on the path of Cultivation.

The reason it took him a whole month to reach this stage was only that he kept suppressing his cultivation again and again further condensing his qi, increasing its density.

That's why it took him a whole month.

But as he was thinking about building a foundation, the system notified him of something he would face.

"Heavenly Tribulation,"

The system reminded him that after breaking through the foundation establishment stage, he would face a Heavenly Tribulation,

Which came out as a surprise to him, at least, but that was also not something too shocking,

As the things he had gotten from the system were too against the sky and he didn't believe that it was without any disadvantage.

Nothing too good happens in life after all he was not a Protagonist of some overpowered harem fanfiction.

(Or maybe he was,

who knows)

Nonetheless, he wasn't worried as he had faced far too many things in his previous life so, he didn't care about a mere heaven.

But his system told him some interesting news which didn't seem to be good for him.

As he knew that a Greater Dao managed different Heavenly Daos across the different worlds.

The strength and influence of a Greater Dao are tied to the power of each Heavenly Dao it manages, which, in turn, is closely linked to its own world.

A Greater Dao has a strong influence over the Heavenly Daos and similarly, a Heavenly Dao has a strong influence in its own world.

So, the stronger and influencing the Heavenly Dao, the more it strengthens the Greater Dao.

Each world typically produces a Son of Destiny, a being who embodies that world's gathered luck and follows a predestined path, thereby boosting the influence of Heaven.

However, while there are many Sons of Luck in each world who share some of this luck, the influence of a Son of Destiny is so overwhelming that the scattered luck barely impacts the Heavenly Dao, not mattering at all.

[Ex. Tang San in Soul Land is the Son of Destiny, Similarly Xiao Yan in Doupo and the other Protagonists.

Dai Mubai, Tang Hao and others can be called Sons of Luck ]

[So, Basically, Son of Destiny is the Protagonist

Sons of Luck: Supporting Characters but it also includes Villains i.e. Ultimate Villains like Soul Emperor in Battle Through the Heavens.

Same is the Case of Daughter of Luck and Daughter of Destiny]

This system told him that there's no Son of Destiny in this world and there are many sons of luck dividing the luck of this world.

That's why the influence of Heavenly Dao was not strong enough in this world and the authority and strength of Heavenly Dao of this world was further decreasing.

Typically, this world should have produced a Son of Destiny, but the process was disrupted by his system and his reincarnation.

As a result, the Greater Dao's influence over this world was gradually diminishing, however since it manages countless other Heavenly Daos,

The Greater Dao didn't concern itself with such minor cases.

However, with the power of this world's Heavenly Dao steadily declining, it now views every anomaly as a potential threat to its existence.

And the Physique he had and the cultivation he was practising was so against the sky as such he was a clear case of being one.

The Heavenly Tribulation he was facing this time was due to this reason.

But he thought that he would've faced Heavenly Tribulation even if he was reincarnated to a different world.

Fortunately, the Heavenly Tribulation he was about to face would still be relative to his cultivation level as Heaven can't break the general law even for the Divine Punishments,

That gave him some relief—facing the full wrath of a Heavenly Dao, even in its weakened state when it had weak influence over the world, would've been beyond his current abilities since he was nothing more than an ant at this time.

The system also told him that he'll most likely face a similar Heavenly Tribulation in the future when he eventually breaks through Emperor Realm,

And the chances of him surviving that one would be too low as that one would be directly from the heavens, but that would be in the future and the possibility of that happening wasn't very high, so he didn't bother to think about it leaving it to his future self.

For now, his only focus was on the tribulation at hand.

This was why he didn't break through to the Foundation Establishment stage yet, opting instead to keep suppressing his cultivation.

.

After a few days, Han Qing'er came to visit him again.

He decided to tell her about the upcoming tribulation, knowing that

when he breaks through to the Foundation Establishment stage she'd find out anyway and would even get angry for not informing her in advance.

And also he wanted to break through and face Heavenly Tribulation in a remote place far away from the sect as he didn't want to reveal his monstrous talents.

He knew how cruel a human heart can be; although he wasn't afraid as he was literally staying with the Sect Master of this Sect and he knew that she would protect him at any cost, he still didn't want to be in such a situation nor did he want anyone to disturb his peaceful life.

But more than that he didn't want to ruin this beautiful place that he was living in.

So, when she came to meet him, he told her about his situation and asked for her help in finding a secluded spot where he could face the tribulation away from prying eyes.

She agreed immediately but the expression on her face wasn't good looking to say in the slightest.

She looked like she wanted to kill that Mysterious Old Man who gave him such a cultivation technique and even heavens which was so cruel to a Five-year-old kid as she was constantly muttering something like,

"If something happens to him I'll'

Though her worrying eyes warmed his heart the scary aura beneath those eyes and her words..

Stepping forward, he gently hugged her, soothing her worries and assuring her that he would be fine.

Only then did she calm down, offering him a faint smile as if nothing had happened.

They chatted for a while longer before she left, telling him that she'll visit again.
