Godslayer's Legacy: THE PATH TO SUPREMACY

Chapter 57: The Test of Strength

Heren gestured toward the distant mountain, its jagged peak towering high into the sky. The massive formation dominated the landscape, its base spreading for kilometers in every direction. At its foot lay a serene lake, its glassy surface reflecting the mountain's imposing silhouette.

"That mountain has stood for centuries," Heren began, his tone almost reverent. "It's not just a natural wonder—it's a testament to the strength of those who've come before. Many masters have tested their power against it."

Rui's sharp gaze scanned the massive mountain. As he looked closer, he noticed faint scars along its surface—small holes and fissures etched into the rock, evidence of past battles. Some were no more than a meter deep, while others stretched several dozen meters, their edges worn smooth over time. Near the middle of the mountain's face was the most prominent mark: a massive hole nearly 100 meters long, its size dwarfing all others.

Heren followed Rui's line of sight and nodded. "That one belongs to the headmaster of the Grand Azure Sect. It's said he carved that mark with a single strike nearly a century ago. The mountain has endured every blow since then."

Rui smirked, the faintest glint of challenge in his eyes. "And no one's destroyed it?"

Heren snorted. "Destroy it? That mountain's withstood generations of legends. It's unshakable. Even the headmaster couldn't do more than leave his mark." "AND LOOK AT IT, ITS A FLIPPIN MOUNTAIN!" Heren shouted as he is losing his sanity.

Rui stepped forward, his movements deliberate. "Then let's see if I can."

Rui planted his feet firmly, the ground cracking faintly beneath him. He clenched his fists, his aura roaring to life like a wildfire. At the same time, he reached into his core, summoning the raw mana that pulsed within him. For the first time, he directed both forces together, weaving them into a single, focused, smaller and smaller point. Making it more concentrated the smaller it was.

The air around him grew dense, vibrating with a palpable tension. His veins glowed faintly with otherworldly power, and his breathing deepened as the energies intertwined. Sweat trickled down his brow, his body barely holding together under the strain, making high-pitched jet engine noises. His muscles screamed in protest, but he ignored them, his willpower keeping him steady.

Above, the sky began to shift. Clouds swirled and darkened, drawn by the massive energy build-up down below. The forest grew deathly silent, the animals sensing the impending disaster and fleeing into the distance.

Rui's gaze locked onto the mountain, the scars of old masters a stark reminder of the strength he needed to surpass. He clenched his fist, the energy coalescing into a blinding glow, blinding even to Heren, who instinctively shielded his eyes.

What Heren was about to see was something only told in legends.

With a primal roar, Rui swung his fist forward.

boom! - The impact was instantaneous like a supernova. A deafening explosion tore through the air, the shockwave flattening the surrounding forest for miles. The ground cracked and splintered, massive fissures racing outward from Rui's position, cracking the earths crust.

The mountain didn't just crumble—it ceased to exist. The energy unleashed vaporized its kilometers-wide bulk in an instant, reducing it to dust and debris. The lake at its base evaporated completely, its waters turned to steam in a blinding flash of heat.

What remained was a massive crater, kilometers wide and impossibly deep, its edges glowing with residual energy. The scars of the old masters, the proud mark of the headmaster's strike—they were all gone, erased in a single blow.

Rui lowered his arm, his breathing heavy. His body trembled, the strain of channeling such power evident in every shaky movement. His aura flickered around him, unstable but still roaring with strength.

Heren stood frozen, his gaze locked on the crater. The headmaster's mark, the centuries-old testament to strength and endurance, had been obliterated. The mountain itself was no more.

The destruction extended far beyond the mountain, reshaping the landscape in an instant. The sheer scale of the devastation was staggering.

"You didn't just surpass the old masters you idiot," Heren said, his voice tinged with disbelief. "You erased their legacy!!!!!!"

Rui turned to face him, his expression calm but his eyes blazing with determination. "It's not about surpassing them. It's about setting a new standard."

Heren facepalms "New standard..... yeah right"

For a moment, silence reigned, the echoes of destruction fading into the distance. Rui looked up, his brows furrowing in confusion.

"Where did the clouds go?" he asked, his tone genuinely puzzled. "It was about to rain, wasn't it?"

Heren blinked, glancing at the sky. The swirling storm clouds that had gathered moments before were gone, scattered into nothingness by the sheer force of Rui's strike. Above them, the sky was clear, its deep blue unmarred by even a wisp of vapor.

"You punched the clouds away," Heren muttered, the words almost inaudible. He let out a shaky laugh, half in awe, half in disbelief. "You obliterated a mountain and the weather in one move. What kind of monster are you?"

Rui smirked, rolling his shoulders as his breathing steadied. "The kind that's just getting started."
