Trunks and Gohan were silent for a long time, lost in their memories of the past ten years.
Trunks' eyes were misty, and Gohan felt a huge relief, like a weight lifted off his chest. His power, stuck for so long, started to grow stronger again, even if just a little. He was surprised because this meant he was close to reaching the next stage of Super Saiyan.
Trunks wiped his eyes and said, "It's finally over."
Gohan looked at him and smiled. "Let's go home."
"Yeah, let's go home." Trunks smiled brightly.
The two, both like brothers and master and apprentice, took off into the air and flew towards Capsule Corp.
Three days later, the news was on TV:
"Breaking news about the androids. Dear survivors on Earth, according to reliable information, the two androids terrorizing us for 12 years have been defeated by a mysterious fighter. From today on, we humans are free."
The news was short but shocked everyone. All humans choked up, many knelt down, thanking the unknown hero for saving humanity. After 12 years of fear, emotions burst out—some cried, some laughed, some sang and danced, and others cooked big meals.
At Trunks' house, they watched the news while eating. Bulma took a small bite of fruit, then looked at Gohan and said:
"Gohan, I told the government that the androids were dead, but I know you like to keep a low profile, so I didn't mention your names. You don't mind, right?"
Gohan, stuffing a chicken leg into his mouth, replied, "Not at all. It's perfect."
"Yeah," Bulma nodded and smiled. "Gohan, you're even better than your dad now."
Gohan pulled the chicken bone out of his mouth and said, "Haha, still a long way to go. Trunks is also amazing."
"Of course, Trunks is great. He's learned so much from you, Gohan."
Hearing Bulma's words, Trunks straightened his chest, feeling proud. It had been almost two years since he entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and he had grown taller and stronger. Bulma sighed, seeing how her son had grown up.
"But why do you two always have blonde hair now?" Bulma asked.
"It's part of our training, Mom," Trunks answered.
"Training? Alright then," Bulma said, not asking more since she didn't really understand.
Gohan thought for a moment and then asked, "Aunt Bulma, can I ask you something?"
"What's up?" Bulma replied.
"Do you remember the fortune-teller, Baba?"
"The fortune-teller? Oh, I remember her. She lived in the desert in a palace. Why do you ask?"
"I need to ask her something. Do you remember the way? Can you take me there?" Gohan asked excitedly.
"Sure, no problem. We'll go after dinner," Bulma agreed immediately.
"Gohan, can I go with you?" Trunks asked.
"No problem, let's all go together," Gohan said.
After the meal, Bulma took out a Capsule, threw it on the ground, and it turned into an airplane with a "BOOM!"
The three of them flew out of West City, across the desert, to a lush oasis, and Bulma landed the plane.
Trunks and Gohan looked around curiously. In the middle of the oasis stood Baba's palace.
They walked towards the palace and soon arrived at the closed door. This gave Gohan a bad feeling.
Gohan and Trunks looked at each other, sensing no one inside. Maybe Baba wasn't there.
Bulma knocked on the door, but there was no response.
"It looks like no one's home," Bulma said, a bit helpless.
"It'd be great if we could find Master Roshi. He could contact Baba," Gohan said.
Bulma said, "That old perv has been missing for over ten years. He was probably killed by the androids."
Roshi was either dead or hiding. Given his personality, it was more likely he was killed.
After waiting a while, they returned empty-handed. Gohan suggested they visit Penguin Village, but they didn't find Arale.
Penguin Village was half-destroyed and in chaos. Arale and Dr. Norimaki were nowhere to be found.
The three returned to Trunks' house. Bulma continued repairing the time machine, saying it would be ready in a day or two. Trunks stayed home to help, feeling a bit annoyed while Gohan went to Kami's Lookout alone.
At Kami's Lookout, Gohan directly stated his purpose. "Mr. Popo, can you contact King Kai?"
King Kai was Gohan's goal. He wanted to know the location of New Namek from King Kai.
Mr. Popo said, "I can, but Gohan, I can't interfere with mortal affairs. What do you need?"
"This isn't about the mortal world. I just need to contact King Kai," Gohan smiled.
"You're right," Mr. Popo realized. "To be honest, I need King Kai's help to find a new Guardian for Earth."
Excited, Mr. Popo immediately contacted King Kai. He shouted to the sky, "King Kai, are you there? Popo needs to talk to you."
Gohan wasn't surprised. He had seen stranger things. Though it seemed crude, it worked.
Soon, King Kai's voice came from the sky. "What's up, Popo?"
Mr. Popo said, "Goku's son, Gohan, wants to talk to you."
"Alright," King Kai replied.
Mr. Popo told Gohan to put his hand on his shoulder to talk to King Kai. Gohan felt a mysterious power connecting him with King Kai.
King Kai asked, "Are you Goku's son, Gohan? What do you need?"
"I want to know the location of New Namek," Gohan said.
King Kai said, "New Namek? Oh, I remember. When you asked Shenron to find a new planet for the Namekians. I'll check."
After a while, King Kai said, "Found it. New Namek is in the Vega constellation, 35th system, first planet. Why do you need it?"
Gohan was happy and noted the location. "Thank you, King Kai. I need to find a new Guardian for Earth."
"Oh, got it. Anything else? I'm busy... working," King Kai said hurriedly.
Gohan heard it all and chuckled. "Is my dad there?"
King Kai replied, "No, Goku and the others are at the Grand Kai's tournament. Anything else?"
"No, that's all. Thanks, King Kai," Gohan said.
"Goodbye!" King Kai logged off quickly.
Gohan put all those random emotions behind him, feeling happy. Everything was going smoothly.
The third plan: ✔️
