GOT: I Have A World Travel Gate In My House!

Chapter 4: Getting Ready

The personal protective equipment (PPE) was nearly ready, and now it was time to focus on acquiring some assault weapons.

When most people think of assault weapons, the first thing that comes to mind is firearms.

However, owning firearms is illegal, and no one dares to sell them openly in most places.

Even if there were sales channels, they were inaccessible to someone like Himmel.

So, guns? Not an option.

Next up was the electric baton, which could release high-voltage shocks to paralyze an enemy—seemed effective.

However, after researching the limitations of electric batons, Himmel quickly lost interest.

If the opponent was holding a metal weapon, such as an iron sword, the shock could backfire and harm him instead.

Not only would he fail to incapacitate his opponent, but he might end up hurting himself—definitely not ideal.

So, the electric baton was ruled out.

Considering the medieval nature of the world he was about to enter, a cold weapon like an alloy knife seemed like a decent choice.

However, when Himmel looked into it, he found that the only knives readily available for purchase were either kitchen knives or small daggers, and those weren't particularly useful for self-defense.

While he heard rumors of black market sales, Himmel had no access to those channels.

Instead of risking illegal purchases, he focused on what was legally available with decent power.

That's when he came across a tactical telescopic baton—a perfect fit for his needs.

The tactical baton, made of high-strength steel rods, could extend to a length of over 60 cm, offering great reach and impact.

When retracted, it was compact, measuring only 30 cm, making it easy to carry.

The tip of the baton was thinner than the handle, which concentrated the force of the strike on a smaller area, increasing the damage.

Himmel was impressed after watching a demonstration video: the baton smashed a red brick in half and shattered a cement pipe.

This was exactly what he needed.

Excited, Himmel ordered the baton, which would arrive in three days, and he also bought a travel backpack to store his gear.

Satisfied with his purchases, he closed the online shopping sites and shifted his focus.

Since medical knowledge in the world of Game of Thrones was limited, Himmel knew he needed to be prepared in case of illness or injury.

A quick search online gave him a list of essential medicines: cold remedies, stomach treatments, pain relief, and more.

Knowing that the medical technology of Game of Thrones couldn't handle more advanced health issues, Himmel needed to be proactive.

Armed with a list, he went to the pharmacy, ready to gather everything he might need.

He arrived at the local pharmacy, greeted by a friendly clerk behind the counter.

"Hello, sir. What can I help you with today?" the clerk asked.

Himmel handed her his phone, showing the list of medicines he needed.

"I'd like to buy two boxes of each of these," he said.

The clerk smiled and nodded, quickly gathering the items from the shelves.

"Everything's here," she said, placing the boxes on the counter in a neat stack. "Would you like anything else?"

Himmel picked up a box of cold medicine, then asked, "Do you sell penicillin here?"

Penicillin had once been a miracle drug, used to treat everything from fevers to infections. It was still held in high regard in many places.

The clerk gave him a surprised look. "Penicillin? We require a doctor's prescription for that."

"No prescription," Himmel said, already expecting the answer.

"I'm sorry, sir. Penicillin is a prescription drug. You'll need a doctor's approval to purchase it," the clerk explained.

Himmel nodded. He wasn't surprised—he had expected this response. Still, he asked out of curiosity.

"Well then, I'll take five rolls of bandages, two packs of cotton swabs, and some medical tape," he said, finishing his list.

The clerk quickly rang up the items and handed Himmel the receipt.

"The total is $74.50. Will that be cash or card?" she asked, smiling politely.

Satisfied with his preparation, Himmel made the payment and left the pharmacy, ready for the challenges ahead.
