Greatest Academy's Student: Magic and Money

Chapter 4: Mixt Academy- 3, First Class!

Finn groaned in frustration as he raised his head to look at them. He spotted the boy giggling. Inside him, he felt the urge to beat up the boy, but that would be regarded as assault, especially since the boy hadn't laid a hand on him.

The boy's appearance was a bit more striking than Finn's: he had brown hair styled in a side-part undercut, clear blue eyes, and a diamond-shaped face. The girl in the middle had red hair, styled in long layered waves, an oval face, and green eyes.

The other girl from the Mercedes had dyed blue hair, but according to the rules in the book Finn had been reading, it indicated that no hair should be dyed. It seemed that the rule didn't apply to these ones.

The fourth boy stood slightly apart from the others; he had short, tousled grey hair that was effortlessly styled, complementing his angular features and amber eyes. He wore casual clothing, setting him apart from the others in their neat uniforms: a fitted black hoodie paired with dark jeans, and he was a bit shorter.

"Hey! What is your darn problem!?" shouted Finn in pure anger.

All the students were left in awe and speechless when he shouted, including three of the students: the brown-haired boy, the dyed blue-haired boy, and the grey-haired boy. The red-haired girl, however, remained expressionless.

The brown-haired boy scoffed and replied in an enthusiastic manner, "Black-haired boy, I would love to get to know you better after classes. You seem like a very interesting one."

Just at that moment, a loud ding resonated throughout the building, signalling the start of classes. The students in the corridor and column began departing to their various classes.

All classes had the same subject, but they were divided into different groups, with a total of 10 students in each class. There were 70 students in the first year; originally 31 students, the number increased to 70 after the admission of 40, currently counted as 39.

In terms of understanding, there were a total of 7 classes with different lecturers teaching the same topic, sequenced as Class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, with the seventh class having an extra note beside the number—"Exclusive," likely referring to the famously talked-about Top 10 on the billboard.

These details were written in the book that was thrown out of Finn's hand.

Finn went to the wall to pick up the book, dusted it off, and walked towards the majestic staircase, cursing under his breath.

"I hate these brats. I should have transmigrated into the body of the Headmaster and shown them how cruel the world can be! Those nipples!"

He started climbing the left staircase, which was so wide that a truck could move with ease on it, and there would still be some space left on each side.

The staircase had integrated LED lights along its sides. Positioned beneath the railings, these lights emmited a soft radiance that brightened each step.

This is more of an hotel, rather than an academy...

The other students trailed behind Finn, murmuring about the courage he had shown towards the brown-haired boy.

Flip

Finn flipped through the book, trying to figure out which class they would be in. He saw that it listed names and the classes they were assigned to.

He was the only one from the scholarship students assigned to Class 5, located on the fifth floor.

"Stock up-shit, I have to climb four more flights of stairs...?"

He slowly dragged himself to the second floor, turning to the left. He saw a glass wall, tinted black, and some noise and chatter was coming from within before it settled down after a lecturer entered through the glass door, just few metres from where Finn stood.

This was one classroom—Class 2.

It seemed that Class 1 was on the first floor, where they had initially stood.

Finn continued, taking another turn and encountered a minimalist staircase, with the same LED design as the one before.

He climbed that one sharply and then the next and the next, until he arrived at the fifth level—Class 5. Other students had already departed into their various classrooms. Only he was left on the fifth level.

Approaching the classroom door, he paused for a moment before turning the knob and pushing the door open inwards.

The classroom appeared as spacious, with high ceilings, while the walls were primarily made of glass, allowing natural light to flood the room and offering panoramic views of the surrounding campus. The desks were arranged in a semi-circle, facilitating easy interaction among students.

All the desks were crafted from dark mahogany, mixing beautifully with the light-coloured floors.

Plush, ergonomic chairs, upholstered in deep navy fabric, were set. A total of ten had tablets on each of them.

Nine were occupied by students; four females and five males.

Behind the lectern, a large interactive display board was mounted. The reading surface of the lectern was made of a digital screen, connected to the display board.

Shelves filled with books and educational materials lined the back wall, showcasing a variety of subjects and resources available to the students.

Finn stepped inside, and all eyes turned towards him.

Students were chatting in low tones about Finn's recent display, their whispers creating a buzz of curiosity and intrigue.

As quiet as a whisper, "He talked back at Sebastian.."

A low reply, "This scholarship studenta? I believe his days in the Academy are numbered then..."

"What a pity... he just got here through the scholarship programme."

"I can't believe that after just one section break, new rats came in, and they haven't learned their places..."

"We should teach each and everyone one of them a lesson.."

"I agree, remarkable!"

So fast, huh? I've become this week's hot No. 1 gossip topic... Finn thought, rolling his eyes internally.

...

The chatter in the classroom gradually subsided, and the door swung open once more, revealing the lecturer.

She was a beautiful young woman, tall and around the age of 23 to 24, with long, dark hair cascading over her shoulders. Dressed in a tailored blazer and smart trousers, a warm smile shone towards the students.

"Good morning, everyone!" she said. "I'm Ms. Harper, known by most of you already, and I'll be your lecturer for this class. Please take your seats so we can get started."

Finn quickly made his way to the nearest empty desk, placing his bag behind it before dropping the book he had been holding onto the desk's surface. He settled into the plush chair, glancing around as others complied with Ms. Harper.

"I never knew these brats could be respectful—tremendous!" he mused.

As she approached the lectern, the classroom lights began to dim automatically.

The glass walls shifted to a darker hue, blocking out the blinding daylight and enveloping the room in darkness. The only illumination came from the interactive display board at the front, casting a bright light that highlighted Ms. Harper as she prepared to begin the class.

"Today, we'll dive into some exciting topics; we have a non-magical class now," she continued, her enthusiasm palpable.

"I hope you're all as eager to learn as I am to teach?"

"..."

None of the students replied, leaving her in an awkward silence.

She cleared her throat and turned her head towards the reading surface.

"We will be starting with history as the first subject of the second section. The unit today is focused on The Age of Aether!"

Then, Ms. Harper began to type onto the reading surface of the lectern.

The display board flickered to life, displaying the title she had just mentioned: The Age of Aether.

Below the title, vibrant red and blue lines danced across the screen, weaving and intertwining to connect to a central white core.

"I will go through the meaning of Aether again for the new students."
