Greatest Streamer System

Chapter 390 – A Wiseman Once Said

The Magical Forest was the forest that Max had seen after he was teleported to the academy. It was a vast forest filled with magical ingredients and creatures roaming around.

All three quest's materials could be found inside. The system was kind enough to provide an image of how they looked, the mandrake, the troll, and the paralysis grass.

The players just had to find them, manually. There was no guiding light once Max found himself inside the forest. He was teleported… Or rather, the journey to the forest was skipped by the game.

It wasn't a rare occurrence, but it was still something that he didn't like because he wanted to know how to return to this place.

'I will definitely find the way later. For now, I need to focus on finding the materials.'

They definitely weren't so easy to find.

"Earth Weapon – Sword."

Max activated his spell and a sword made from earth appeared in his right hand. He had to prepare in case a magical creature suddenly attacked him out of nowhere.

"Let's explore this forest then."

— That's the spirit!

— A wizard with a sword in his hand lol. This is new

— Are you an armed wizard?

— Wizard: "Taste my spell!" Wizard Breeze: "Taste my blade!"

"Both are the same." Max said with a smile. "A wise man once said to know yourself and your enemy. I am a beginner at magic, still learning. But I am experienced with weapons. That's why I am using weapons to get stronger. Get it?"

As he spoke, he entered the forest and kept his eyes on the ground. Both mandrakes and paralysis grass grew on the ground and were easy to miss if he wasn't careful. The former was said to grow under a tree shade white the latter was near bushes.

There was a chance that he could find both materials at once, so they were pretty easy, just need eyes and walking around. The problem was Troll's blood.

'Trolls are often found near a cave or running water. They are lazy creatures that love to sleep. I can't defeat them with my current magic, but I can certainly harm them and draw their blood using Earth Weapon and Wind Slash.'

Based on the Troll's description of the game, they wouldn't wake up even if they were injured and bled. That would be Max's best chance to get their blood.

After walking for a while, he saw something on the corner of his vision.

"Hmm? Is that…" He muttered and approached a patch of grass near bushes and a puddle.

There was something among the unassuming green leaves. A grass with purple leaves was mixed among them.

The appearance fit what the game showed about paralysis grass.

"I found it!"

What he needed from this grass was its root. And to get 5 mg of it, just one grass was enough. In short, he had gotten the first material.

"Let's grab it and get it done."

— Wait

— Don't do it! Don't grab it

— You are insane!

Without hesitation or listening to the viewers' warning, Max grabbed the grass with a bare hand. Even if he wanted to stop, he was too late. He only read the warning when his hand already grabbed the stalk.

And that was something that he shouldn't have done.

"Uck!"

His hand felt a sting, and he suddenly felt pretty stiff. His joint refused to move and he stayed in his crouching position. The poison in the leaves seeped through the small wound it created. The leaves' edge was sharp and could pierce the skin.

"T-T-Th-is is n-not g-g-good."

Even talking was difficult. He saw a timer on the edge of his vision, saying 27 seconds. It had been 3 seconds since he grabbed the leaves, so the paralysis was only effective for 30 seconds.

But that wasn't the bad news.

"W-What?"

The leaves' color changed. The deep purple from earlier turned into a lighter one. It had lost its properties after transferring the poison into Max's body.

"No no no!"

Max shouted loudly, feeling cheated. Finding this paralysis grass wasn't as easy as people thought. He had to spend 15 minutes just to stumble upon one.

"Nooo! Why!?"

A scream echoed inside the forest. His body slumped forward as the timer hit 10 seconds.

— We have warned you

— You have to start from 0 again lol

— This is the fate of a streamer that ignored their viewers' words. And we're kind enough not to fool you. Tsk tsk tsk

— A wiseman once said: Heed the danger, young uns. You shouldn't ignore what's obvious

— A wiseman once said: Use safety when dealing with a poisonous material. Its name is Paralysis Grass for fck sake!

— ^ I think a wiseman wouldn't curse. You're a scam!

— You guys? What are you talking about? Since when did we suddenly become so wise?!

— The more you know, my friend… The more you know…

"Ugh… Your warning came late." Max grumbled as he stood up. The stalk of grass in his hand had fully turned green. "This sucks. I don't think it's a one time use only. And the game never told me how to harvest it!"

With no one to blame, Max decided to blame the game for giving such an unclear instruction. Of course, he definitely wouldn't blame himself for his ignorance.

"It should give me tools to harvest the grass. At least, it should give me gloves to protect me from its poison, no? I want to file a complaint to its developer!"

— Go ahead. Its developer is coincidentally Biozone Entertainment

— This game is Biozone Entertainment's creation. They are the distributor as well as the developer

— I bet you have the developer's contact already. Direct our complaint also!

— Dear Mr. Affiliated Streamer. Please tell them our voices too. Give a clear instruction for the quest!

Knowing who the developer was, Max immediately coughed into his fist and smiled.

"Of course, I was just joking. The game is already good. It's an absolutely lovely and good game. It's the player's fault for not realizing that paralysis grass has a paralysis poison in its leaves. Yeah, it's 100% the player's fault."

The 180 degree change in Max's attitude amused the viewers. They knew that he wouldn't try to complain to the company he was affiliated with, or so they thought.

Actually, Max wasn't afraid to critique the game. But he thought it would be troublesome as he would be taken seriously by the company. Mr. Taka would surely interrogate him and ask him many things about it. And he wanted to avoid that.

"A-Anyway, putting that aside, I have an idea. I might be able to kill a Troll instead of just injuring it."

A sly smile formed on Max's face as he chuckled evilly.

— That smile is the one when he think of no good stuff

— Nah, what are you planning now? Tell us or I will report you to the police for planning something bad!

— I recognize that smile. It's when Breeze is planning something strange or no good.

— Please, just play normally for once! Don't play strangely!

— Entertain us, Breeze. We've been waiting for your strange plan!

"Oh, sure. I will entertain you guys. Just wait for me to find another paralysis grass."
