Harem-Powered Kingdom Building: Empire of Carnal Sin

Chapter 2: Not Your Heart that I Desire(*)

The last time he died, he ended up in the Goddess' presence. Who's to say it won't happen again?

"And even if I do end up really dying, it's not too big of a deal." This line of thought stemmed from one of Hiro's core philosophies.

He was a man who did not take himself very seriously because of how insignificant and small he felt compared to the sheer scale of the universe.

'The universe is billions of years old. Whether I die a few decades early or late is inconsequential. A few decades are nothing compared to a billion,' he would often tell himself.

It's not that he did not care for his life AT ALL, but he certainly valued it a lot less than the average person.

Given all of this, and the fact that he was ignorant of Truck-kun's legends, killing himself in hopes of meeting the Goddess seemed like a very reasonable thing to do.

'I'm quite curious about the results of this experiment...'

Once he thought of this, Hiro wasted no time.

He retrieved the shortsword from his Chest of Holding. Gripping its hilt with both hands, he stretched his arms and pointed the blade at himself. He was genuinely going through with it!

"For SCIENCE!"

Stab!

The outcome of his actions was very different from Hiro's expectations. His hands now held a broken sword. Floating before him, directly in the sword's intended path, was an object resembling a circlet. Beside it hovered a letter.

Hiro's first thoughts were, 'That's one gold coin wasted.' That was how much the sword had costed him.

His second thoughts were, "How did this circlet and letter magically appear in front of me?'

He ignored the circlet and picked the letter up, unfolding it. He hoped that it would have an explanation to what was happening.

Its contents read as follows.

Dear Antee Hiro,

I write to you with sincerity, moved by your bold confession. I cannot recall the last time a man so sincerely and passionately expressed his love for me.

Unfortunately, I could not bring myself to admit that in front of the others. Believe me, that would have placed you in far greater danger.

While it is true that your words have stirred my heart, I regret to say that I cannot truly return your feelings. You are a mortal, and I am a Goddess. Love between us can never have a happy ending.

But nothing is impossible. Many of today's Gods were once mortals. You are now a Ruler. If your feelings for me are genuine, then prove them.

Embark on a path of Conquest and Lordship. If you walk this path far enough, the opportunity to stand by my side will eventually present itself.

Unfortunately, I cannot present you my Gift now that you're already in the mortal world. The help I can offer is minimal. The Rules forbid my interference.

Despite the Rules, I managed to attach an artifact from my treasury to this letter. For some reason, it was the only one I could send. I am unaware of the artifact's function. I have never managed to use it myself.

Your barony is a treacherous territory for someone just starting out. Moreover, many of the resources you were meant to begin with have been denied to you.

I hope this artifact aligns with your fate, that you will uncover its purpose, and that it will aid you in facing the dangers ahead. Finally, I hope we can meet again under better circumstances.

With Blessings,

Selune

After reading the letter, Hiro's face contorted with confusion. He racked his brain, trying to recall if he had ever confessed his love to anyone.

'I mean, I told her she looked hot and suggested we spend some good times together…'

Surely, that wasn't a confession of love, was it? Hiro realized the Goddess might be surprisingly pure and naive about matters between men and women.

The realization brought a sly smile to his face.

He tilted his head upward and, as if addressing the Goddess herself, said, "You've misunderstood me. It's not your heart that I want."

He held his gaze skyward for a few moments. When no response came, he shifted his attention back to the letter in his hands.

He leaned closer to the letter, whispering in a voice thick with unfiltered lust. "No, what I want is to pin your body beneath mine and tear away the fabric concealing your bare skin from my gaze. I want to caress every curve and crevice, to explore every inch of your femininity."

Hiro closed his eyes, fully immersing himself in his vivid fantasy as he continued whispering to the letter.

"I want to feel your warmth pressed against me, to knead your supple breasts and pinch your sensitive nipples. I would nibble on your luscious lips, our tongues entwining as we exchange saliva. Your heavy, needy breaths would be music to my ears."

A tent rose in Hiro's pants as his once flaccid dick hardened, throbbing with veins, driven by the vivid fantasies consuming his mind. Selune's beauty was far too overwhelming!

"What I truly crave is to fuck your brains out—to hear you moan while feeling otherworldly pleasure and beg for more in your desperation."

An eerily calm smile spread across Hiro's face as he finished voicing his desires.

Finally, he exhaled deeply, regaining his composure.

Then, reverting to his usual cheerful tone, he said, "As for love? Sorry, but there's no room for that in my mind."

In the distance, lightning flashed, followed by a deep rumble of thunder, lending an air of finality to Hiro's declaration.

With that, he turned his attention back to the artifact still floating before him.

'An artifact that even a Goddess couldn't figure out… what does she expect me to do with it?' Hiro wondered.

He no longer entertained the idea of killing himself, even if the artifact were to prove unusable. He treated the timely interruption of the letter and the artifact as a warning from the universe. His optimistic idea about getting another chance after dying might be a tad too optimistic.

Hiro lifted the circlet-shaped artifact, examining it closely. Its color was silver. Apart from some intricate designs which were engraved on its surface, there was nothing special about it.

'Do these designs mean something? Even if they do, I'm not sure how I'll figure out something the ruler of a Divine Domain couldn't.'

After several seconds of inspection and no progress, Hiro decided to equip the circlet on his head. Nothing happened. In fact, it wouldn't even fit properly. Just shaking his head a little bit was enough for it to fall off.

He then attempted to pass his hands and legs through the circlet, trying to wear it on his limbs. Yet, even after testing all four, nothing happened.

'Maybe it needs a special condition. A specific circumstance or encounter? Or perhaps there's already a chosen one out there…'

Hiro wasn't too disappointed. From the beginning, he did not have any extravagant hopes of making such an artifact work for him.

As these thoughts swirled in his mind, a rather absurd idea struck him. 'Don't I have a fifth limb? I'll just try it on there as well, just for good measure,' Hiro thought with a smile.

He genuinely believed there was absolutely no chance this would actually work. He just wanted to do it purely for his own amusement.

He passed his penis through the center of the circlet. He held the penis' tip with his hand so that the circlet wouldn't slide down.

'Maybe my dick needs to be massive enough for the circlet to fit perfectly, like a ring?'

If that was the case, then the artifact would not be for human use.

"As expected, nothing." After some time, just as Hiro was about to retrieve the artifact, something happened.

The silver artifact pulsed with a white glow. And suddenly, without any warning, it shrunk at a terrifying pace!

'Oh no, it's going to slice my dick clean off!' The thought surged through Hiro's mind, panic gripping him.

However, even after some time, the expected pain did not come. His little dragon was still attached to his body.

Hiro's heart was beating wildly, as if he had just experienced the most horrifying jumpscare of his life.

Lifting his penis with his hand, he spoke to it, "Phew. Little bro, I almost lost you there, buddy. I thought the artifact took offense to my blatant disrespect… But wait! Where did it go!?"
