Chapter 5: breakfast
The next day when Henry woke up he felt his body is full of energy and stretched a little. No more pain or fatigue, Henry smiled a little and opened the door to see a dark corridor. The sky outside is dark and the lamps lit up the hallway.
Henry scratched his head and go back to his room. He felt very hungry but don't know who to call. And all people in this house are probably sleeping now as the sky outside is dark. Henry awkwardly slept while his stomach started rumbling.
But he held on and the next day at the breakfast table, he is devouring food like crazy. Cassandra looked at the pile of 10 plates which supposed have dishes few moments in astonishment. Mr and Mrs vole on side are also stunned.
After eating more than 15 persons portion of food, Henry finally stopped and burped jn satisfaction before he is embarassed by the looks of others. He lowered his head in shame while Cassandra said," Do you want to eat mine? I don't like milk and toasted bread? ".
Henry shook his head in embarrassment again while Cassandra looked downcast and under the stern eye of her mother she reluctantly drank her milk and ate the bread with jam on it. Henry smiled as he looked at Cassandra cutely munching on the breakfast with sulky face.
Cassandra looked at him and then glared as he chuckled at her sullen face. She wants to bite and hit Henry. Henry smiled at her and didn't say anything. Cassandra huffed and turned away. As Henry is looking Cassandra's father asked," Okay boy, now that you're looking fine I have some questions to ask you ".
Henry straightened immediately while Mr vole asked," Where do you live? Who are your parents? There isn't even a complaint about you in missing persons in muggle police. Such irresponsible and careless parents I haven't seen anywhere".
Henry head dropped down. Parents? Home? He has nothing. He lived in an orphanage until he is 5 and the orphanage was closed due to the lack of funds. No one adopted him and he has to live in the streets. He searched garbage bins near the hotels and restaurants for food and clothing.
Did small jobs and built himself a small hut like accommodation with broken things he found. He is then abducted by a dark wizard and now he is in such a grand house, he forgot his past it seems.
He raised his head and said," I don't think you'll want hear that sir. My life is not a good thing and you may change your opinion and can feel disgusted by me", Mr Vole raised an eye brow and asked," Say it kid. I have seen all kinds of kids. You're not new to me".
He said in a low voice," I-I'm an orphan sir. I have no parents or home ", Cassandra looked at him with pity and so other people. His heart is irritated by this. He lived hy himself what's so pitiful about him. He felt aggrieved while Mrs vole asked," Then which orphanage are you from child? And why did you say your past will make us look at you with disgust? ".
Henry shook his head and said," I lived in St. Peter's orphanage until I'm 5. The orphanage is closed due to lack of funds and no one adopted me ", Mrs vole is stunned just like Mr vole and awkwardly stopped talking while Cassandra asked," Then how did you live all these years? Who gave you food and clothes? Where did you live until now? ".
Henry fekt embarrassed by the question and said while rubbing his hands, he thought they will be disgusted by him and throw him out immediately. After all he met many who is disgusted by his appearance and search in garbage. Only occasionally did a few kind people helped him food and other things like giving their child's old clothes.
Henry hesitated and said," On streets. I picked up from garbage near the restaurants or ate the leftovers. Occasionally I did some small works and got some money which I used to buy some food. I picked broken things people throw away or abandon to build myself a small place which I lived in until that wizard knocked me out. So I'm just stray kid living on streets ".
He lifted his head ready to meet the disgusted eyes. But Mrs vole showed pity while Mr vole looked somewhat wary and with some pity on him. Cassandra looked at him with her mouth wide open. She didn't think he would live such a harsh life.
On other hand the servants looked with different expressions. Some looked at him with pity, some looked at him with disgust, some looked at him indifference. Seeing such looks he fekt aggrieved, disgust is fine, he is used to it, but too much pity is something he hadn't experienced until now.
