Chapter 13: Chapter -13 Unbent Spoon?
Chapter 13.
Three days later, as anticipated, Dudley once again secured the title of champion in the youth mathematics competition, with Hermione finishing in second place. The other top students from Oxford Primary School failed to even reach the top ten.
When the results were revealed, they remembered the fear they had experienced under Dudley's dominance. They were too weak; bullying younger children was simply not a challenge.
Upon seeing the task reward notification on the system, Dudley fell quiet. "First intimate contact with the little witch, reward: one lottery draw." This was the reward from his interaction with Hermione in the classroom, akin to the lottery he received for assisting Harry in renovating his small house, which Dudley had never redeemed.
Firmly believing in the metaphysical, Dudley thought his luck had been poor during that period, so he held onto it.
Today felt like a lucky day for Dudley, and after his usual bath and changing clothes, he rubbed his hands together and initiated the lottery draw. "I have a feeling my luck is good today; it's time to take action."
The moment of fate had arrived. "Let's draw a natural-born magic god." With this thought, Dudley pressed the button on the slot machine, and the first draw was, of course, an item.
Almost immediately after he started the lottery, the result appeared. A silver spoon materialized in Dudley's hand. "Congratulations, you have drawn the item 'Unbent Spoon'." There were no explanations or descriptions; it simply appeared to be an ordinary spoon.
Dudley gazed at the spoon, and in the reflection on its smooth surface, he felt as if the spoon was gazing back at him. The lottery process was extremely perfunctory, lacking any visuals, leaving Dudley completely puzzled about what it actually was. 'I'll examine it later,' he thought as he carefully placed the spoon into his pocket. What if it turned out to be something valuable?
The first draw was underwhelming, but according to the law of conservation of luck, the second draw should yield something better.
Thus, Dudley activated the lottery again. He couldn't tell if it was just his imagination, but he felt that this time the slot machine took an unusually long time to spin. He was unsure how long it had been before the machine began to slow down.
The screen gradually displayed a giant mecha in red and white. It was a nostalgic piece from his childhood—Light Energy Mecha (Magical King). "Domokosalam? Harryrouqiuqiu?" Two spells immediately came to Dudley's mind.
The work Light Energy Mecha actually involved magic; for instance, one of the main characters, the old lady, was one of the three great magicians of the Long-Eared Clan, V-Mei. Although she often faced challenges in the plot, she was very powerful in the lore.
The other of the three great magicians was the final boss of this work, Agulaman.
"Am I getting a Light Energy Mecha? Do I have to pilot a mecha at Hogwarts?" The thought was quite thrilling. However, until the last moment, anything could happen. Just like the commission (bonus) promised by a boss; if it doesn't actually end up in your hands, it's just a big pie that you can see but can't eat.
Suddenly, the content displayed by the slot machine shifted, jumping from the Light Energy mecha column to the next column and stopping. An image of a yellow-furred rat appeared before Dudley. This was not just any yellow-furred rat, but one that could unleash a hundred thousand volts, a creature almost universally recognized. "Pikachu?" Dudley said slowly.
From the Pokémon series—Pikachu. However, what he drew this time was not Pikachu, nor was it closely related to him, but his opponent, a squinting yellow-furred fox. A CG animation appeared before Dudley, set in the Pokémon Indigo League, during the Golden City Gym challenge, showcasing the battle between Pikachu and Clefairy. "Congratulations, you have drawn the psychic-type skill—Meditation."
Meditation is a transformation-type skill in Pokémon, which enhances one's abilities through focused concentration, increasing both special attack and special defense by one level.
In Pokémon, there are physical attacks and special attacks; physical attacks refer to regular attacks, while special attacks refer to energy-based attacks, and the same applies to defense and special defense.
But... clefairy seems unable to learn Meditation, right?
Just as Dudley raised this question, the scene changed again; Clefairy burst forth with a dazzling light and evolved into Clefable. Clefable at level 55 can learn Meditation.
Dudley: ... Let's test the skill effect first.
Dudley sat cross-legged, feeling his heart become very calm, like a still water surface, with a drop of water falling in, creating ripples.
Ding dong
A faint red glow appeared around Dudley, invisible to the naked eye.
It was soon over as well.
Other than feeling calm inside, Dudley didn't notice anything different about himself, and then he looked at his attribute panel.
No changes at all, still that meager 0.8 magic power value.
"Hey, I don't believe it."
With newfound interest, Dudley immediately began to meditate again for enhancement.
Two segments of ability enhancement, three segments of enhancement... all the way to six segments, until the system prompted that further meditation would have no effect, Dudley finally stopped.
This was the same as in the game; it couldn't be enhanced indefinitely, each ability could only be raised to six segments.
After six segments of enhancement, Dudley's magic power still showed as 0.8.
"Just wasting time."
Just as Dudley was contemplating this, he noticed an additional line of small text below the magic power value.
"Magic Resistance: 6."
Could this be the effect of special defense enhancement? Although he couldn't increase his magic power, in a sense, it was still a divine skill.
Dudley's eyes brightened.
At this moment, Dudley's data was:
Name: Dudley Dursley
Race: Muggle (True)
Occupation: Magician (Pseudo), Ripple Energy User
Strength: 9
Agility: 6
Constitution: 15
Magic Power: 0.8
Magic Resistance: 6
Magic: None
Magical Equipment: Unbent Spoon.
Skills: Iron Mountain Lean (LV5), Boxing (LV3), Language (LV2), Mathematics and Chemistry (LV2), Physiology (LV2), Handicraft (LV1), Firearms (LV1), Archery (LV1).
Special: Ripple Energy (LV1), Meditation (LV????).
Six hours later, the 6 in Dudley's magic resistance column gradually changed to 1.
"So the question arises, where did the magic resistance bonus go?" Dudley pondered, pinching his chin, but unfortunately, no one could provide him with an answer; he could only seek the solution himself.
—
Hogwarts, after Dudley's six-segment enhancement.
The lights in the long-extinguished Hogwarts admissions office suddenly illuminated.
On the desk, the feather quill that had stopped working seemed to sense something and instantly stood upright again.
This was a magical feather quill, said to have a history of over a thousand years, tracing back to the founding period of Hogwarts, crafted by the four founders. It would record the information of children with magical talent from the moment they were born.
It began to write another letter on the thick parchment.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore (Merlin First Class Medal, Chief Wizard of Wizengamot, International Wizarding Federation**)
Dear D..
The cabinet next to the desk was piled high with letters; these were the acceptance letters to be sent out to Hogwarts students next year.
Note : Guys, some power stones will be really helpful.
