Chapter 4: System Rewards, The Whole Story
In the room, Cole slumped down on the sofa, took off his glasses with one hand, and rubbed his head. The journey back from the pyramid had been exhausting for him.
That's right, Cole is not originally from this world, and his name is not actually Cole. He was just a worker, but when he woke up in the blink of an eye, he had become Cottrell Black, trapped in the pyramid. Only after gaining his memory did he realize he had come to a magical world with characters like the famous Principal Dumbledore, Senior Riddle he remembered, and Snape, who had a melancholic temperament all day long.
This wasn't the Harry Potter world as he knew it, but he had never heard of a Cottrell in the Black family. He realized his situation when he saw that perhaps this Cottrell Black had died. He was trapped inside the pyramid, in the Pharaoh's chamber.
Initially, he wanted to find the Pharaoh's treasure, but he was trapped by a magic barrier and couldn't find the switch. A magic code was printed on the door, which he could not decipher. In this way, until he died of starvation, he replaced Cottrell Black.
Cole was on the brink of despair. He had inherited the memories but couldn't open the secret chamber. He had to wait for death. Unexpectedly, Gold Finger came along. What was the name of the family system? The first task was to let him inherit or establish his own family before it could be fully activated.
Of course, there was also a beginner's gift package. The glasses Cole wore were a magical item from the private collection of otherworld magicians. The perfect adaptation potion allowed him to quickly control his magic. With his glasses, he not only opened the secret chamber but also opened the pharaoh's coffin, though unfortunately, it was empty.
Originally, he planned to build his own family outside, starting from scratch, like playing a game. But after accidentally learning about Voldemort's atrocities from a dark wizard, Cole knew this might be his chance.
According to the original trajectory, the final ending of the Black family was not good. Sirius was gone, and Regulus became a corpse in the lake. The legacy of the Black family ended up benefiting that boy Harry Potter, who really had the protagonist's halo. Instead of working hard outside, why not go home and inherit millions of gold galleons? Wouldn't it be better to be a rich second generation?
He, Cottrell, was no more qualified to inherit the legacy than Harry was. Sirius, that prodigal son, had squandered their millennia-old heritage. Yes, Cole hated Sirius very much, not only because in his previous life, he felt that the four Marauders acted like school bullies. Cottrell, the predecessor, had been bullied just as badly as Snape, if not worse.
Cottrell had been weak in character since childhood, not good at speaking, and was not liked by the Black couple. Although Sirius was disobedient, he had outstanding magical talent. He was accomplished in transformation and strong in spellcasting. To outsiders, Sirius appeared cheerful and lively, a perfect noble boy, but to Cole, he was a nightmare.
Cottrell was sorted into Slytherin like Regulus but was two years younger, unlike Regulus, who was more valued for his obedience. Cole had been timid since childhood, and Sirius directed all of Mrs. Black's oppression onto him, not daring to bully Regulus. James Potter and Lupin enjoyed bullying Cole, with little curses following him everywhere. Wasn't this just school bullying?
After complaining to the Blacks to no avail and being scolded as incompetent, Cottrell escaped from Hogwarts and left the wizarding world altogether.
Until he died while exploring the pyramids, Cole had experienced many things in his life. He lamented that a person courageous enough to face the outside world lacked the courage to resist the discrimination of his family.
Cole stared blankly at the ceiling, contemplating the system in his mind, when a voice spoke to him. "The family system is officially opened. This system is fully committed to helping the host establish an exclusive family. It has been detected that the host has inherited the name of the Black family. The initial task is completed. The exchange panel is opened, the mall system is opened, and the family honor list is opened."
Upon hearing this voice, Cole became excited. He came to this world alone, not because he was panicking, but because the magic level of his predecessor was not very good. He left school as a teenager and wandered around. Without systematic teaching, he relied solely on his own talent to support himself. "System, receive the mission reward."
Cole remembered he could receive the first gift when he returned to the Black family's old house. "Alien Mage Crystal: Can be used to increase your own magic level." "Construction drawings of the Mage Tower: In a distant plane, the mages there slaughter gods and conquer other worlds, relying on the Mage Tower." "Distant visitor: After being summoned by the unknown, a guest from far away with a different bloodline. After systematic transformation, he is loyal to the host and will never betray."
Cole sat up directly after listening to the system's rewards. "System, take out the mage crystal." Cole didn't understand what a real wizard was until he met Dumbledore. With the glasses awarded by the system, Cole could clearly see the magical elements surrounding Dumbledore. The wand was just a key, and with that level of activity, Cole believed that Dumbledore could cast the spell with just a wave of his hand.
The void cracked, and a purple crystal slowly floated in the air, emitting a unique light. Cole raised his hand and crushed it directly. Countless purple energy lines wrapped around and touched Cole's body, and a powerful energy poured in. Cole closed his eyes, enjoying the sensation. After a few seconds, he slowly opened his eyes. He looked at his body and saw no changes. A glance in the mirror showed he still looked like a noble man. It seemed as if nothing had changed, but only Cole knew what was happening to his body.
After receiving the inheritance of the mage crystal, Cole understood that there were levels of magic power, but the HP world was not strict about these levels. A young wizard's magic power rapidly increases as he grows, stabilizes in his prime, and gradually declines. There are no titles such as wizard apprentices or great wizards here. If one doesn't take action, their capabilities remain unknown.
However, Cole felt that his substantial magic power rivaled Dumbledore's, and it was even more active. With a thought, the drawing instantly appeared in Cole's hand. He almost missed it. Upon reading the homepage, Cole realized the difficulty of constructing the mage tower. It required not only immense financial resources but many special materials he had never heard of.
However, the power of the mage tower is immense. According to legend, mages in distant planes aim to build their own mage towers. These powerful towers can even break plane barriers, allowing mages to kill gods.
