Chapter 38: Ollivander's Wand Shop Spirals To Heaven

Ollivander is crafting a fine wand with a core of carefully selected unicorn hair. Suddenly, he hears the door being kicked open. With trembling hands, the priceless unicorn hair is blown away by the wind.

"Good morning, Ollivander!" Dumbledore hurries in with Cassandra. "Sorry to bother you at this time."

"Oh, Professor Dumbledore, this is a rare visit!" Ollivander hurriedly steps forward to greet him warmly. The feathers that Fawkes sheds are one of the important sources of raw materials for his wand shop. "I remember that your earliest wand was my grandfather's favorite work. A perfect match of fir and dragon heartstrings. The combination of the dragon's heartstring's ruthlessness and the inner strength of the fir tree allows the wand to create spell energies that are not too deadly but very powerful. A wand for the master of great willpower and the gift of Transfiguration. But I think you haven't used it for a long time now. It's a pity."

"Although I have changed the wand now, I still keep the wand intact and maintain it regularly," Dumbledore replied with a smile. "But this time I came here not to maintain the wand, but to bring the two children. Kyle and Miss Cassandra are both excellent students at Hogwarts. They're here to pick out their wands."

"I know, of course. I came to the wand shop to pick out wands," Ollivander said as he took out the ruler. "So, boys, which one of you will come first?"

"Let Kyle go first."

"Sister Ka, why don't you come first? I may take a little longer."

"It's okay. Just picking a wand," Cassandra turned her head arrogantly.

"Okay, Mr. Ollivander, then let me go first," Kyle took a step forward with a smile.

"Ollivander, what I need to say is that this child's situation may be a little special..." Thinking of Kyle's out-of-control magic before, Dumbledore couldn't help but exhort.

"It's okay, I like picky kids the most. We all know that not only does the wizard choose the wand, but the wand also chooses the wizard. Ollivander has been making wands for more than two thousand years, and I have the ability to find the right wand for every little wizard," Ollivander said, unfazed.

"Special? How special can it be? Even Voldemort picked his wands from me back then. So kid, do you usually like to use your left hand or your right hand?"

"Right hand, sir!" Kyle replied as he looked at the wands piled up to the ceiling. Freshmen at Hogwarts have school subsidies, so they can buy their first wand at the price of ten Galleons. If there is an accident in the middle, you can only rely on the original price to buy it. The cost of labor and materials alone is already hundreds of Galleons. Ollivander carefully took Kyle's measurements.

Arm length, shoulder width, height, even neck length were being measured. Complimenting while measuring, Kyle explained his professionalism. "Ollivander will consider every aspect of the little wizard, so don't feel too complicated about the process, which will help you choose the most suitable wand for you. Across Europe, only I can provide such meticulous service."

"But... Mr. Ollivander, we are growing our bodies, and every three months, the data of our bodies will change. And a magic wand will be with us for at least several years. How did you manage to use the current data to pick out a magic wand suitable for our future use?" Kyle asked.

Ollivander remained silent for a moment, slightly exasperated by the little wizard's verbosity. "Okay, let's try this one," Ollivander eventually said, unable to continue acting ruffled. He went to a pile of wands and picked one out. "Oak and dragon's tendons, ten and a half inches! Represents strong, powerful, enduring, firm."

"Sir, are you sure this wand is okay?" Kyle inquired, more concerned now about magic power. He had been boosted the night before and had stored magic in the "source of magic power," plus the berserk bonus of "Heart of Black Magic." He wanted a wand that truly suited him, unlike the one he had taken in Knockturn Alley. "Of course, you have to trust Ollivander!" Ollivander replied confidently. "Uh, I mean, if there is any mistake in the process of experimenting with the wand, I don't need to compensate you, right?" Ollivander added impatiently, "Of course not!" No matter the strength of the magic power, how powerful could a little wizard be? The oak wood and dragon's tendons combination made the wand too powerful for ordinary wizards to handle. "Try waving the wand, just lightly!" Ollivander instructed, taking out his own wand.

There are often young wizards who make a mess of wand shops by choosing the wrong wand, but for Ollivander, this is not a problem. All it takes is a simple "restore as new" to fix it! This is his best spell. "Okay!" Kyle felt relieved when he heard that he was not responsible. A sky-blue jewel emerged from his forehead, unlocking the talent of "Heart of Black Magic." Kyle flicked his wand lightly. There was a loud bang! In Ollivander's astonished and disbelieving eyes, Ollivander's wand shop was going straight to heaven!
