Chapter 11: The First Performance of the Fairy Girl Group

David carefully levitated a small stage from the studio to the center of the room, just under the twinkling Christmas tree. Above the stage, he hung five boxes containing mysterious spheres of light. For now, the lids remained shut, keeping the light contained and the surprise intact.

Once everything was in place, David pulled out a magical book titled Dance and tapped its corner with his wand. A soft, melodic tune floated through the air. He waved his wand again, and one of the boxes cracked open slightly. A warm white beam of light spilled out, illuminating the stage like a celestial spotlight.

Slowly, letters spelling "FairyGirl" appeared on the stage. The glowing letters twirled through the air, dancing briefly before lining up to form a curved staircase. David stepped forward, his voice filled with excitement as he introduced the evening's performers.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the debut performance of the FairyGirl group! First, let's meet our team leader, Natalie. Always reliable, always elegant!"

A tiny figure in a sky-blue dress floated gracefully onto the stage. Natalie stepped down the glowing letter staircase with poise.

David continued, "Next, we have Grace, our mysterious goddess. But be careful—stare too long, and her beauty might captivate you!"

Grace, dressed in a sleek black gown, walked elegantly onto the stage and bowed with a serene smile.

"And now, Mia! I asked a hundred wizards who the cutest fairy is, and ninety-nine agreed—it's her!" David paused, lowering his voice dramatically. "The last one was cursed with an eye-blinding spell, I suspect."

Mia, in a warm-toned dress that matched her pink hair, twirled onto the stage, blowing kisses to the small audience.

"Kami is up next! Look at her—pure confidence, pure charisma!"

Kami strutted in wearing a slim-fitting dress, her bangs sweeping stylishly across her face.

"And Samantha," David said, his tone dropping to an almost reverent whisper. "If you've ever wondered what true elegance looks like, just watch her."

Samantha, in a dazzling gown, sashayed onto the stage, owning every step with quiet confidence.

"Our princess, Joanna, is here!" David said with a bow. "She inspires such reverence."

Joanna, wearing a fairy-sized ball gown, curtsied gracefully to the crowd, completing the lineup of performers.

"And finally, Jessica! If you're feeling down, she's here to cheer you up!"

Jessica bounded onto the stage with infectious energy, giving high-fives to the audience before joining the group.

As the letters of "FairyGirl" moved to the back of the stage, forming a glowing backdrop, David addressed the audience. "Please enjoy tonight's performance by FairyGirl!"

The room darkened, and upbeat music began. The lights came back on, revealing the fairies in coordinated positions. With their glittering outfits and graceful movements, they danced in perfect synchronization, their tiny forms twirling and leaping through the air. The stage lights shifted colors to match the rhythm, creating a magical spectacle.

As the music intensified, David used his wand to summon petals that had been hidden around the stage. They floated into the air, forming a swirling cascade that the fairies danced through with effortless elegance. The petals lifted the fairies higher, making it seem as if they were flying on nature's breath.

Toward the end of the performance, something unexpected happened. The fairies stopped mid-dance and flew toward the Christmas tree. David looked on, puzzled—this wasn't part of the rehearsal. Just as he was about to investigate, the fairies returned, forming a circle around something they carried.

From the center of their formation, they revealed Pickett, Newt's mischievous Bowtruckle. David and Newt burst into cheers as Pickett stepped forward, awkwardly attempting to mimic the dance moves. Though his steps were clumsy, his effort was heartwarming, earning him roaring applause from everyone, especially Newt, who was visibly glowing with pride.

As the music crescendoed, the fairies lifted Pickett onto a large petal, and together they bowed to the audience, exhausted but beaming. The magical "FairyGirl" letters flew back out, creating a colorful ride for the fairies and Pickett as they returned to the Christmas tree. The lights dimmed, signaling the end of the performance.

David turned to Tina, smiling. "So, Grandma, did you like it?"

Tina nodded warmly. "It was wonderful. I didn't know they could dance so beautifully. How did you come up with this idea?"

David shrugged. "Honestly, I wanted to perform myself, but I couldn't think of any talents worth showcasing. So, I thought of them instead."

Queenie chimed in, her eyes sparkling. "Did they wear the clothes I designed?"

"Yes, Aunt Queenie," David replied. "They loved them and even changed into them by themselves."

"Wonderful! Maybe they can be my full-time models," Queenie suggested, clapping her hands excitedly.

David chuckled. "I think they'd love that. I'll ask them right away."

He walked over to the fairies, who were still practicing their favorite moves near the Christmas tree. Jessica and Grace immediately flew to him, overjoyed. But as Jessica kissed his cheek in excitement, something unexpected happened. Both Jessica and Grace suddenly wobbled and collapsed, drained of energy.

David caught them in his hands, alarmed. "What's happening?"

He rushed them back to the studio as Newt and Queenie followed in concern. The once-jubilant room fell into a worried silence, unsure what had just occurred to their tiny, shining stars.
