Having ‘Fun’ in this Room

Chapter 5: Chapter 05 – Perjaka’s room 01

"I don't think it's a good idea to experiment here in Mondstadt City," Jean said after a moment of thought. "How about we conduct the experiment somewhere farther from the city? Windrise should be a suitable location." She then added, "Oh, and we should call Sucrose as well. Her expertise in alchemy might provide additional insights. Lisa, could you handle that?"

"That makes sense. I'll take care of it," Lisa replied with a nod. With that, she left the room, leaving Jean and Perjaka alone in the office.

Before stepping out, Lisa paused briefly to address Perjaka. "Don't worry about anything. Jean has always been a kind and fair person, as long as you don't pose a threat to Mondstadt's peace."

With a reassuring smile, she closed the door behind her, leaving the two to continue their discussion.

After Lisa left, Jean, who had been speaking from behind the large ornate desk, stepped around it and approached Perjaka. Her movements were poised and graceful, exuding the elegance of a noble. Once she was standing before him, she placed a hand over her chest in a gesture that radiated both charm and professionalism as she introduced herself.

"I apologize for the delay, but the news Lisa brought, as well as her story about you, is of great importance," Jean said with a calm, authoritative tone. "I am Jean Gunnhildr, the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

"Ah, yes. My name is Perjaka," he replied, his tone polite but slightly stiff. Jean's formal demeanor had caught him off guard, and he unconsciously stood straighter, unsure how to match her noble behaviour, which outside Perjaka knowledge and something he only saw in movie or anime.

"That's quite an unusual name," Jean remarked as her eyes briefly scanned him, curiosity evident in her expression. She noted that Perjaka appeared to be about her age, though perhaps slightly shorter. His complexion reminded her of Kaeya, her fellow Knight of Favonius.

The iPad, which she had earlier returned to him, was no longer visible—it had vanished as though absorbed into another dimension, much like the way weapons used by Vision bearers could be stored. Jean found it curious, though not entirely surprising, given her experience with such phenomena.

For some inexplicable reason, Vision users could summon and store their weapons in what seemed to be a separate space, the weapons appearing only when needed. Perjaka's ability seemed to function in a similar way, which intrigued her even more.

"Honestly, my name even sounds very strange for someone in my hometown. It even sounds like a joke. So it must sound even weirder in a city called Mondstadt City." Perjaka replied to Jean's words while trying to make a joke out of his name.

"Haha, is that so?" Jean said with a gentle smile at his response.

"Alright, it seems you've already come to an agreement with Lisa," she continued. "For now, I'll let her supervise and help you get settled in Mondstadt. However, until we fully understand your abilities, I can't allow you complete freedom. Once the tests are completed, Lisa will continue to assist you, but in the future, I plan to assign knights on a rotating schedule to monitor your activities."

Jean's explanation was logical and reflected her responsibility as the acting leader of the Knights of Favonius. Perjaka found her decision reasonable, though he was secretly relieved that Lisa would be overseeing him for the time being.

To be honest, he didn't mind whether Jean or Lisa supervised him, but since he had already spent some time with Lisa, he felt more comfortable with her. The part about being monitored by other knights, however, unsettled him. There was a good chance he'd be paired with men, which didn't sit well with him. As a devoted Genshin player who focused solely on female characters and building his collection of waifus, the idea was less than ideal.

Still, he knew he couldn't openly reject the arrangement. Saying he only wanted to be monitored by women would not only sound suspicious but could easily be misinterpreted. The last thing he wanted was to give the impression that he had ulterior motives. Begrudgingly, he resolved to accept Jean's decision without protest—for now.

Perjaka silently vowed to find a way to ensure that his supervisor would always be a woman.

"Thank you so much for your help. I can't express how grateful I am. I promise to do my best to assist you and Mondstadt in return for this treatment," he said, bowing his head respectfully to Jean. Her generosity and understanding were invaluable to him.

After all, being thrown into another world was no small ordeal. Even though he had extensive knowledge of Teyvat from playing Genshin Impact, that didn't mean he could survive easily. He had no money, no established connections, and no experience dealing with the world's monsters or its harsh realities. Jean's support and Lisa's help was not just helpful—it was essential.

In the game, Perjaka had effortlessly defeated monsters, but the reality of facing them head-on was a different story. He doubted his ability to handle such encounters, given his lack of physical fitness and zero experience in martial arts or combat skills. At best, he figured he might manage to defeat small slimes, but creatures like Hilichurls or Whopperflowers seemed far beyond his capability. The thought of confronting them filled him with dread, as he realized the possibility of dying in such battles was very real.

This stark contrast between the game and reality made him all the more grateful to be in a safe place like Mondstadt. Though he possessed powers that defied logic, they currently offered little practical use in battle. For now, survival and understanding his abilities were his priorities, and he was relieved to have the Knights of Favonius willing to help him.

"Jean, I've called Sucrose," Lisa's voice called from outside the office.

"Thank you, Lisa," Jean replied. She turned to Perjaka and said, "Alright, let's see what kind of power you have."

With that, Jean led the way out of the office, guiding Perjaka to leave the Knights of Favonius Headquarters. They were headed to Windrise, where they would conduct the experiment. Perjaka gave a slight bow before following Jean.

The four of them—now joined by Sucrose—left Mondstadt City behind. They traveled toward Windrise, an area known for its vast, open grasslands and the distinctive, towering tree that stood near the river.

"Alright, I'll try to use my power," Perjaka said to the three women, who were keeping a safe distance from him. Thankfully, he didn't need to physically summon the iPad to activate his ability. He could simply call the name of the app in his mind.

As he did so, he felt a strange shift within his body, a surge of energy drawn from deep inside him. Then, before him, a door materialized. It floated slightly above the ground, its wooden frame intricately carved with vintage designs that gave it an ancient, worn look. Perjaka couldn't help but marvel at the sight.

The door before him definitely looked like a supernatural phenomenon. If Perjaka had seen something like this in his world, he might have thought he was being dragged to some hellish dimension. Curiosity piqued, he reached out to touch the carvings on the door. To his surprise, his hand passed right through it, as if the door had no physical form and was merely a hologram.

"Huh... what is this?" Perjaka muttered in astonishment, unable to grasp the door. Undeterred, he tried again, this time aiming for the doorknob. To his relief, his hand made contact with the handle. It felt solid, and he could tell that, with a turn, he would be able to open the door.

"I'll try to open the door!" Perjaka announced to the three women, then cautiously opened it while shielding his eyes with one hand, fearing the blinding light that often accompanied in this mysterious events, like when Lisa opened the door to the mysterious room earlier and when he played the game.

However, to his surprise, nothing happened. Instead of a flash of light, Perjaka found himself staring into the very same mysterious room he had seen before. The room, it seemed, was actually behind the door he had just summoned. This was undeniable proof that his powers were responsible for the events between him and Lisa that had unfolded, and now, he had direct access to the room once again.
