Chapter 101: Chapter 9: Wolves Ah, Hesitation Breeds Defeat!
But the wolf-eared girl's worries were unnecessary. The blue-haired girl swiftly adopted a stylish pose, shielding the pink-haired girl.
All the elemental attacks were absorbed directly by Lilya. Then, in an instant, the blue-haired girl charged with a slashing attack, perfectly countering all her assailants.
As Lilya's blade whirled through the air, all the wind wolves that had launched elemental attacks met a grisly end.
-
The Twins glanced at the remaining demonic wolves and noticed that two of them were attempting to flank the wolf-eared young girl from a distance.
With serene resolve, Orphan Sword Saint Liliya raised her Artemis and locked on to the demonic wolves' heads.
"Beasts, hesitation leads to defeat!"
Bang! Bang!
With decisive shots, Liliya's Artemis eliminated the two distant demonic wolves, sending their skulls splattering.
-
After imbuing the Moon Goddess, Liliya turned her attention to the remaining demonic wolves, noticing they had begun to waver, apparently frightened by the earlier onslaught and preparing to retreat.
Liliya gathered energy and leaped, momentarily disappearing into the sky.
In a flash, she locked onto the wolves' rear and dove down with a forceful attack.
Several wolves were instantly crushed...
Bearing the greatsword, Liliya and Rozaliya began encircling and eliminating the remaining demonic wolves.
Indeed, the pair of twin young girls had already surrounded the remnants of the pack.
"Typhoon, Yaaay!"
Rozaliya gripped the greatsword with both hands, transforming into a supersized gyroscope. With rotations at near-light speed, she continuously cleared the surviving demonic wolves.
As the dizzying spin rendered Rozaliya disoriented, Liliya used spatial teleportation to appear beside her sister. She swiftly picked up the disoriented Rozaliya and hurled her towards the retreating demonic wolves.
Thrown through the air, Rozaliya managed to strike down three demonic wolves, while the remaining seven or so continued their hasty escape.
However, the two young girls didn't give up just yet and used their space teleportation ability to quickly approach the demon wolf.
Then, the two twins... both grabbed onto Rozaliya's great sword, Sleeping Beauty...
"Hasta la Vista!"
"Release the power of vodka!"
Together, they swung their swords forward, combining their strengths...
Just like a single, heaven-shattering slash; the combined force of the two twins wielding one giant sword.
The earth seemed to split apart, shaking uncontrollably...
The massive shadow of the sword struck the ground, leaving behind a pit over a kilometer long... so deep that its bottom couldn't be seen.
The cherry bomb's ultimate attack, "VODKA CHOPPA," unleashed destructive force equivalent to more than 3,000 times the combined power of Rozaliya and Liliya.
-
From the sidelines, the lycan girl watched this scene and was utterly astounded.
They must be Heroes, she thought. Only Heroes could possess such incredible power. But... could demi-humans be Heroes? Didn't Heroes have to be human?
The lycan girl's mind reeled, completely bewildered by these questions.
Hunters' First Battle (Completed)
"This time, Rozaliya's performance was also super perfect!" Rozaliya, with her great sword held in her tail, ran happily to Liliya's side.
In contrast to Rozaliya, Liliya seemed unhappy and very tired...
"Battle's over! Liliya wants to go back and sleep!"
"Hold on a little longer, Liliya. We'll sleep soon." Seeing Liliya's state, Rozaliya embraced her warmly.
It wasn't that Liliya was lazy or a big sleeper.
Rather, it was due to her frail body – a legacy of her past illnesses! Liliya was truly pitiful.
Just like Yae Rin, the younger sister of Yae Sakura, Liliya had been weak since childhood and relied heavily on Rozaliya for care. Although Liliya was remarkably strong herself, she willingly took the role of support for Rozaliya's sake... Because ah... Liliya adored her big sister Rozaliya more than anything.
Despite often teasing her "sister," deep down, Liliya harbored an intense one-sided love for Rozaliya. It's no exaggeration to say that Liliya was obsessed with being her best older sister ever.
-
"Are you alright?" Rozaliya and Liliya approached the wolf-eared girl, their hands entwined, concern written across their faces.
Finally encountering another intelligent being brought immense joy to the twins, as they could now inquire about this world's information.
"I'm fine, thank you for your assistance, kind sirs," the wolf-eared girl said politely, looking up at the approaching duo.
(TL Note: Sirs? (ಠ_ಠ))
"It was just a small gesture, no need for such formality!" Liliya waved off the thanks nonchalantly.
"No, my mom always said that one must repay a life-saving grace with a torrent of gratitude! I have to take this seriously and remember it in my heart," the wolf-eared young girl replied with unexpected solemnity.
"Oh? Your mom is from the Divine Land?" The twins were taken aback; wasn't this a fantasy world? How could she know such phrases?
(TL Note: China...¯\_ (ᵕ—ᴗ—)_/¯)
"What do you mean 'Divine Land'? Oh... you're talking about the Hero's homeland? That's a quote from a hero from three thousand years ago," the wolf-eared girl realized, hastily clarifying.
"Three thousand years ago? A Hero?" Had someone from our Great Divine Land traveled to become a Hero and save this world three millennia ago?
Liliya and Rozaliya's curiosity was immediately piqued.
It seemed like they had saved the right person after all.
"Um, there are a few things we'd like to ask you. Consider it a reward for being rescued. Hmm... let's go over there to talk, where there's a fire."
Rozaliya pointed towards the spot where she and Liliya had previously slept.
"All right, masters..."
The wolf-eared girl obediently nodded.
But... after just two steps, she couldn't help letting out a pain-filled cry.
At that moment, Liliya and Rozaliya noticed her feet were covered in wounds.
"You said you were fine earlier. How are your injuries this severe?"
Rozaliya knelt down to look at the girl's feet, her brow unconsciously furrowing.
"It's just a minor scratch," the wolf-eared young girl shrugged nonchalantly. "Nothing to worry about. It'll heal in no time."
"No, we can't leave things like this. Wait here."
As she spoke, Rozaliya retrieved a healing potion from her inventory that she had acquired from Rimuru. She applied it liberally to the young girl's feet.
This potion was abundant in Rozaliya's inventory, with 9999 bottles remaining. She had acquired it when leaving the previous world from the Monarch of Cuteness.
The healing potion proved incredibly effective. As soon as it touched the wolf-eared girl's feet, her wounds were completely healed.
"There, all better now."
The wolf-eared girl gazed at her perfectly restored feet, and Rozaliya put away the rest of the healing potion.
"Wow, it's healed completely without even a scar! That's amazing! Are you the Hero...sir? The Hero of our subterranean folk?" The wolf-eared girl couldn't help but look excitedly at both Rozaliya and Liliya.
"Hero? No..."
Rozaliya and Liliya were taken aback by her words and both shook their heads simultaneously.
"But how can that be...? You're so strong, and you have such powerful potions. How aren't you the Hero?" The wolf-eared girl found it hard to believe.
"Seriously, we're not Heroes, but let's discuss this by the fire instead!" Rozaliya pointed towards a nearby bonfire.
"Yes!" The wolf-eared girl looked at the fire and nodded promptly.
(TL Note: I got no idea where they are at this point.)
