His Breeding Obsession

Chapter 126

Malandor’s face hardened.

“I told you I love you, Mirania.” “So?” “Is love something that ends when you put an expiration date on it?” “Such words mean nothing to me, as you know.”

Mirania sounded pathetic, and Malandor gave her a blank look.

Then he clicks his tongue and shakes his head in understanding.

“That’s right. You don’t know love.” “Neither do you.”

Who would have thought?

He has been a reigning overlord for a long time, with irreplaceable power.

How could anyone be drunk on the sweet, intoxicating emotion of love now?

The heart has become numb and hardened, unable to receive love. They knew each other well.

One moment they were looking at each other wistfully.

Malandor, coming to his senses, muttered angrily.

 “I do love you.”

This time, Mirania didn’t argue, not needing to spit out the words of denial.

Malandor repeated as if to confirm,

“I love you.”

‘No. What he needed was the comfort of a friend, not a cry for love.’

Mirania thought to herself.

‘I don’t need to beat my chest when it’s already empty enough.

“It’s been a long time since you’ve been emotional. Let’s get you to sleep.”

Reaching over the bars and pulling Mirania to her feet, Malandor leaned against the bars.

‘I don’t understand the point of sleeping here when there’s a perfectly good bed nearby.’

Mirania, who had discovered the comfort of a plush bed during her time in the palace, was a little unhappy, but she didn’t complain.

A few minutes reclining against the bars in the center.

She could hear Malandor snoring faintly as if he was indeed sleeping soundly.

Blocking out the sound, Mirania was lost in thought. She was thinking of Grecan.

There was no way to discuss love with Malandor. How could I, after everything I’ve seen him do, after everything he’s done to me for fun?

But what, because he loves me? Love makes him do it?

 [My beloved Mirania].

 [Bear my child.]

[They say a woman who gives birth to a child cannot run away.]

Mirania shook her head, throbbing with pain. Grecan’s voice was a blur, a thread in my already complicated mind.

‘Grecan…’

And the same with him.

That she raised him instead of his parents, that he knows her since he was a snotty little puppy.

The list of reasons why it shouldn’t work was endless.

‘The question is, will he be convinced?’

Suddenly, I wondered if my way of thinking about why things shouldn’t be done was similar to humans.

Witches were more lustful than humans.

‘Maybe it’s because I once studied love with humans. Or is it because I don’t feel desire as much?’

In any case, none of these reasons will convince Grecan. Her head aching, Mirania frowned and dismissed the thought.

“I can think of dozens of reasons why it would be unwise to mate, apart from my feelings. Perhaps I ought to have told him about our relationship. Maybe then he could have been persuaded.”

Why didn’t I do that at the time?

 [Because I killed… Mirania?]

Ah, yes, because he looked so bitter.

If I had attacked him for that reason, he would have blown his own heart out.

That was the look on his face.

Mirania sighed,

‘So I told him I had already forgiven him, which was not so easy to do. It wasn’t easy for him, that’s for sure.’

It wasn’t as if I’d forgotten about my previous life, where I’d been beaten to a pulp, but the image of young Grecan foolishly chasing after me was burned into my eyes and mind.

Mirania’s heart sank once more as she realized her indifference to Grecan.

After trying to comfort herself by reassuring herself that she couldn’t stop thinking about him because he was such a pain in the butt, she closed her eyes.

Black energy filled her body. Her breath caught in her throat and her headache grew worse.

‘Ugh, I feel like I’m going to die. I might as well sleep.’

Mirania closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep, lulled by the sound of Malandor’s breathing, which was more relaxed than before.

Three days passed.

“Mirania, it’s time to eat.” “Do you have a chocolate latte?” “That’s only in the human world. Would you like more water?” “You can have that, too.”

Malandor would only serve food and drink, but he wouldn’t open the cage. Mirania stopped asking to be let out.

At some point, Mirania’s appearance changed.

Sweat was beading on her pristine white skin, her complexion was pale, and her cheeks were eerily flushed.

Malandor, who had opened the door, shouted with delight.

“At last! Mirania, my servant has brought you some dessert. It’s not a chocolate latte, but it will satisfy your taste buds.” “…Hmm.” “Mirania?”

Mirania sat with her back to Malandor, who leaned against the outside of the cage.

Strength slipped from her arms as she braced to support herself. Her arms gave out, and her body tilted sideways until she finally fell.

 Thud—

Malandor turned his head to look at her, feeling strange.

 “Mirania?”

Mirania was at her wits’ end, having been overtaken by the black poison.

Gasping faintly, she blacked out completely.

Exactly four days since she entered the Dark Realm.

 Thunk, clunk—

The cage finally opened.

“Hmph, ugh. I’m really letting you go with a big heart. You’re out of the laws of nature, yet your constitution, which is at odds with my aura, hasn’t changed in the slightest.” “…” “I really don’t want to let you go, because the world without you is terribly dull, whether it’s the human world or the dark realm.” “…” “But I’ll support what you’re trying to do. No matter what happens, just knowing you’re alive makes me happy.”

Malandor saw Mirania off with tears streaming down his face.

Mirania wondered if his tears were a ploy to deflect the blame, but she had no intention of scattering ashes on a good ending.

But the perception of him as an inconsistent, untrustworthy bastard was so ingrained in her mind that she couldn’t take his tearful words of affection with a completely pure heart.

“Thank you for staying with me, Mirania, even when your body was in such a state. You are my angel, my love.”

Or something like this.

‘It’s not overdramatic, but it’s better than sulking about how much he loves me.’

The word love didn’t have the same stubbornness it had once had, so Mirania didn’t mind, and she treated him with the same dignity.

 Love.

A word that had turned into a soft quilt that wrapped around her body. It wasn’t bad.

“I’ll always come to Mirania’s aid if she needs it, even as a friend.” “Well, then. I’ll keep that in mind.” “You’re going to the Witch Forest, aren’t you? If you do, be careful, for the Grecan of today is not the Wolf Boy you think he was.”

Mirania nodded solemnly. She felt like she had gotten to know Grecan better since leaving the palace.

A hundred years of Grecan.

 “I understand.”

Malandor’s eyes narrowed in concern, still not reassured.

“I could not possibly follow him, so why should I?” “Are you going to kill him?”

Gesturing to the passed-out body he’d been stuck with for days, Malandor bit his lip ruefully.

“Yes… but Mirania is out there, and you’re exhausted, so how can you wait here?” “Wait.” “Haha, keep calm.”

Despite his words, Malandor’s cheerful face grew worried again.

“Anyway, Mirania has always been soft on that bastard, so… I’m worried.” “…” “But he won’t be able to do anything to Mirania, either. If he tries to fulfill his greed, I’ll threaten him with death. Do you understand?” “Hmph, is there no such thing as dignity for you?” “I don’t have any.”

With a fairly typical parting words of goodbye, Mirania exited the black hole.

“No, I wonder why I came back like this.”

Back on the mainland, Mirania was horrified at her appearance. Her body was stuck in a hole in the hunter’s house.

Crawling out of the hole, she surveyed her surroundings and brushed the dirt from her clothes.

Time had certainly passed, even though the passage of time was different between the dark and human worlds.

Mirania looked up at the dark night sky and squinted.

‘Still, it’s a good time to be in the dark of night.’

It’s cloudy, the stars and moonlight are hazy, and it couldn’t be better.

Barely a moment to catch her breath before she was on her broom. The destination was the Witch Castle in the Witch Forest.

My prediction that the night would be easier was correct.

The wolf warriors on guard on all sides had lost their vision, so they didn’t notice Mirania’s approach.

And as luck would have it, there was only one of them standing guard, and it was the same unfaithful wolf she had seen earlier.

“Ah, I’m getting tired of this.”

Wolf guard looked around, and when he saw that no one was around, he relaxed.

 “Let’s get some rest.”

He even climbed up onto a low branch.

‘Thank goodness, he’s a fool,’

thought Mirania.
