His Mistress is His Ex-Wife

Chapter 2: Pregnant

When Sabrina opened her eyes, a white ceiling greeted her sight. She found out that she was brought to the hospital. With a faint groan, she tried to sit up. She held her stomach as she felt like throwing up but she endured it.

She glanced at the empty room absentmindedly. The events leading to her collapse flooded back into her consciousness. She imagined her husband Dominique and his mistress, Sasha, laughing at her sarcastically as they rejoiced for her misery.

Gritting her teeth, Sabrina hugged her knees close to her chest as she buried her face. Despite the physical discomfort and emotional pain, a steely resolve flickered in her eyes.

'I won't sign the divorce papers. I will not allow them to get married. I will run away from him as far as I can… But someday… I'll return to get everything back– the company and my family's fortune.'

As she sat there, collecting her thoughts, the door slid open and a doctor entered the room. The doctor greeted her with a warm smile.

"Mrs. Smith. Your examination result just came out. Congratulations! You are four weeks pregnant!" The doctor delivered the piece of good news, thinking that Sabrina would feel over the moon.

But instead, Sabrina's face turned pale. She was rendered speechless, utterly shocked. If not for Dominique's betrayal, she would feel overjoyed after hearing this news.

Her happiness was not complete, because she was aware that she had to raise this child alone… away from her deceitful husband.

After a few seconds, a single tear streamed down her face, but she immediately wiped it away, realizing the doctor was still there.

"Doc, who brought me here?" Part of her was hoping that Dominique still cared about her.

"Your husband's secretary," he replied with a smile, oblivious to the ongoing dispute between Sabrina and Sasha.

Sabrina's eyes darkened and she pursed her lips while folding her fingers into tight fists. The mere mention of Sasha's name or the sight of her image evoked a torrent of fury that cut deep into the core of her being.

It seemed fate kept playing with her. The door slid open and Sasha entered the room with a shameless smile on her charming face.

"Doctor, could you excuse us for a moment? I need to have a word with my Boss's Wife," Sasha's deliberate stress on the final words dripped with subtle sarcasm, an edge to her tone that didn't escape notice.

Sensing the heavy tension between the two, the doctor swiftly grasped the atmosphere and promptly made an exit.

"Good! Now I don't have to pretend since no one is here." Sasha remarked as she pulled a chair next to Sabrina's sickbed.

"SCRAM. I don't want you here!" Sabrina yelled at her, her body trembling in anger.

But Sasha just let out a mocking laugh, picking her ear. "Don't shout, Sabrina. I can hear you clearly. And don't worry, just like you, I don't want to be here. But there is something I need to do. This is my last task being Dominique's secretary. I will be his next wife soon." Sasha's provocative words reignited the flames of Sabrina's resentment. She gritted her teeth until her gums bled.

"I came here to deliver three messages from your husband." Sasha continued. She picked up two documents inside her bag and placed them on the table beside Sabrina. She also handed her a pen.

"First, he wants me to tell you that you will not leave this place and can't meet your family without signing the divorce paper." Sasha shifted her gaze to the door. There were two men in black standing on guard outside.

"Second, he is giving you this cheque worth one hundred million for you to start over. And he is also giving you the Golden Villa as compensation for being an obedient wife. Oh… I think this is your payment for having sex with him several times." Sasha said as if implying Dominique treated her as a sex worker and their lovemaking was just a part of transactional nature.

"He had a good time with you. But I guess, he loves fucking me more… in his office," Sasha added tauntingly, winking at her.

"And lastly…" Sasha took a pause. She stood up and leaned over to whisper in her ear. "He wants you to abort this child. He refuses to acknowledge its existence, deeming it a threat to him." Sasha's voice carried a disdainful edge, each word she uttered laced with a venomous scorn that pierced through her heart.

Sabrina's eyes widened in horror, a hand instinctively reaching to cradle her abdomen, protectively sheltering the life within her. A blend of shock, disbelief, and a raw surge of anguish flickered across her face. Her body trembled as she realized Dominique's callousness.

'I fell in love with a monster! A devil!' Sabrina thought to herself, tears welling up, but she fought to maintain her composure.

"Leave, Now! Before I kill you myself!" She grabbed the pen, her knuckles whitening as her gaze locked fiercely onto Sasha. She held the pen, its tip pointing ominously towards Sasha.

Sabrina wouldn't allow them to have their way. She would find a way to escape from this hell!

Meanwhile, recognizing the seriousness of Sabrina's stance, Sasha slowly began to back away, her hands raised in a gesture of surrender. But the sneer on her lips never left.

"How long can you defy Dominique? Don't be stubborn, Sabrina. Dominique is no longer the husband whom you thought he was. So don't make things difficult for all of us." Sasha turned around, approaching the door. "The next time I come back I hope to see your signature on that paper. And you should leave quietly after you abort your child while Dominique is still being merciful to you."

"Just Leave," Sabrina repeated, grabbing and throwing all the documents to the floor.

When Sasha left, the room was filled with Sabrina's cry of pain. She sobbed non-stop. After a few minutes of pouring it all out, Sabrina got off her sick bed and wiped away the traces of tears on her face.

With a determined look in her eyes, she approached the guards who were standing outside her ward. She managed to steal a handphone from one of them.

She didn't waste time contacting the person she could trust— her best friend. "Gael, I need your help. I'll explain everything in person."

After hanging up the phone, she picked up the documents on the floor.

'I'll make them pay.' Her vengeance against her deceitful husband was a resolute declaration— an unwavering reclaiming of her power and dignity.
