Chapter 62: Chapter 62
"Did you hear about today's announcements? I need to know all about the people who are supposedly engaged to Darell and Diana. How influential they are and what they can do to us if we refuse them" She explained a bit superficially but Zick understood the task.
Sophie watched her work with admiration. However, she couldn't help but ask about one thing.
"Zick?"
"Yeah?"
"Why did my brother address you as a man?" She whispered.
Zick looked in her direction in horror and then looked around the room.
"My boss doesn't want the others to know. How do you know I'm...you know"
"You don't look like a man to me. Maybe it's female intuition. I don't know" She shrugged.
Zick laughed quietly. "I was discovered recently by my boss. No one noticed for a few years"
"That's called male ignorance" Sophie giggled.
"Although your brother recognized it right away" She nudged her with her elbow.
"Oh well. He's my brother after all" She winked at her.
Zick was delighted with her new companion. She didn't have the opportunity to talk to other women because she spent all day with men. But this change was very nice.
"Are you staying longer?" She asked with a hint of hope in her voice. Sophie thought for a moment.
"I have to go back in the evening, but until then we can sit together if you want."
"I do!" Delighted, Zick grabbed her hands. "Let's finish this quickly and go talk to my room."
She returned to her task, printing out all the necessary data. Without waiting for Anton, they went together to one of the rooms and began to talk about various things.
When her little brother returned, he noticed the absence of both women. Sighing heavily, he waited patiently for Don to return, not wanting to search the entire estate for them.
Returning after taking care of his business, Don found Anton spinning boredly in one of the chairs.
"Your pet took my sister somewhere. Would you mind finding them?" He asked in a monotonous voice, still spinning in circles.
Don, looking disgusted at his acquaintance, left rolling his eyes. First he looked into his room, but it turned out to be empty. This surprised him a little.
Zick didn't go anywhere else but to the kitchen, their room, and her workplace. Where could she have gone?
Walking through the estate, he heard the men's lively conversations. Walking towards them, he noticed a small crowd of people gathered at the shooting range.
Among the many, he immediately spotted Zick. Annoyed by the whole situation with her in the middle of the crowd, he started to walk towards her.
Luckily for everyone gathered, no one was standing near her.
"What's going on? Why are you here?" He asked, grabbing her hand and drawing her attention to him.
"Don, you're back? Sophie heard we have a shooting range here and wanted to practice a bit. Before I knew it, she was competing with our guys and so far no one has beaten her. She's amazing." Zick said with delight.
That annoyed him even more. He went to the booth next to Sophie, took the gun from the shooting man and emptied the entire magazine, firing dead center, at the same spot.
It looked like only one shot had been fired. Sophie, seeing that she had a worthy opponent, began firing in a different pattern. Don did the same.
For him, it was no challenge at all to shoot at a stationary target. After firing another magazine, he got bored with the game.
He put the gun down and, taking Zick by the hand, walked with her to their room.
"Why am I starting to like your jealousy? You're so gorgeous when you're angry" Zick grabbed his cheeks and started kissing him passionately.
Don growled into her mouth, consuming them with lust. Zick looking at him with her glazed eyes, slowly slowed down the pace of their kiss.
Kissing him one last time, she smiled at him seeing how he got horny after the kiss once again.
"Anton was looking for you. I helped them look for information and I met Sophie" She told him with satisfaction.
Don stroked her cheek, seeing her joy. Sighing, he took her by the hand and led her to her computer.
He had to distract himself from a certain unsatisfied buddy somehow. He asked Zick to find something for him and completely ignored Anton, who still hadn't received his sister back.
Luckily for both of them, Sophie came to them a moment later with a satisfied face. For a moment she forgot about her troubles.
She met an interesting friend and had the opportunity to shoot a little. Returning to reality, she said goodbye to Zick and together with Anton and the information they had gathered, they returned home.
An hour after their return, their father arrived. After a warm greeting to his daughter, they sat down together in the living room where Sophie told them about her meeting with Darell's mother.
"You let some old hag hit you?" Gregorej's gaze wanted to kill.
"I had no other option then. I had to get rid of her quickly and slapping me was one of the easiest solutions at the moment. Besides, her slap was like a fly bite. After two days, there was no trace left" Sophie wanted to calm the men down but it seemed that she only made matters worse.
"Your cheek took two days to heal?" This time Anton asked coldly. "Looks like after everything we'll have to give her back what she gave" He threatened.
"You're going to beat an old woman? You?" Sophie raised an eyebrow, not believing what she was hearing.
Anton just rolled his eyes and, with his arms folded, pretended to be offended. Recognizing the individuals, Gregorej began to read their information in silence. A sinister smile slowly began to form on his lips.
"Anton, you'll go back to the company tomorrow and take care of your own business. Sophie and I will go shopping. We have to prepare properly for the party"
Anton, hearing his father's tone, smiled as well. "It looks like there will be a lot of fun"
Sophie, seeing her amused men, felt sorry for Darell's mother for a moment. But only for a moment.
Without asking for details, she started talking to her family about ordinary things, forgetting about her phone, which was still on the seat of Anton's car. Forgotten. The phone that rang again and again and again.
Darell had been calling Sophie since he found out she hadn't shown up for work. She left a moment before him and he was convinced she had gone to her office.
However, someone from marketing approached him and asked about the absent manager. Surprised, he started calling her but there was no answer.
He went to Anton's office but he wasn't there either. Looking menacingly at his assistant, he left him no choice but to tell him that she was with her family.
Darell gave up for a while but when evening came and Sophie hadn't come back, he started calling her again. Once again he didn't hear an answer.
It slowly began to dawn on him that he had upset her with the morning conversation and that she was certainly offended by him.
Sighing heavily, he wrote her a message and prepared himself for another difficult night. It was only before going to bed that Sophie remembered the phone.
She asked Anton to go get it while she got ready for bed herself. Her brother, giving his sister a kiss on the forehead, passed her the phone and waved goodnight.
Hiding under the soft blanket, she unlocked her phone and froze. Darell had called her dozens of times and written several messages. First asking where she was and then apologizing for the morning.
Not wanting to worry him any longer, she only replied, "See you at the party," and then went to sleep.
Darell read the message and was saddened. He shouldn't have treated Sophie like that. He wanted the best for her but it clearly didn't work out.
He decided to try again tomorrow. Maybe he'd be able to convince Sophie to come back earlier...
Sitting at his desk, he got busy with work, hoping that this night would pass quickly. However, as always, it was the other way around. Time passed inexorably slowly and quickly began to annoy Darell.
When Sophie was with him, even when he pulled all-nighters, he had the opportunity to sleep for at least a few hours. This time, however, he had to painfully remember how it was before his cure.
His head was throbbing with pain and everything was annoying him when the first rays of sunlight entered his office.
He waited sulkily for Noah to arrive so he could give him some task. The unaware assistant arrived at work with Anton, who had been waiting for him in front of his apartment in the morning.
