Chapter 20: Kakashi’s Unwillingness

It was a bright morning in the training ground when the intensity of the battle between Uchiha Yuma and Hatake Kakashi reached its peak.

Despite the rapid exchanges of fire and lightning, Yuma's form remained graceful, with a precision that made his movements feel almost effortless. His mastery of Uchiha-ryu, paired with the spatial shifting of the Flying Thunder God Technique, gave him an edge in their combat.

"Not bad, Kakashi," Yuma said as he calmly sheathed his sword, his tone a mix of admiration and challenge. He could see Kakashi was not yet satisfied with their spar.

Kakashi, still visibly frustrated, narrowed his eyes. "You're holding back, Yuma. I can tell you're not using your full power."

A brief silence hung between them, before Kakashi added, "You're looking down on me, aren't you?"

Yuma chuckled softly, shaking his head. "Not at all, Kakashi. I'm just trying to get a feel for your style, trying to match you."

But Kakashi wasn't convinced. "Then use the Flying Thunder God. I know you've trained it, so stop pretending."

Yuma's eyes briefly flickered with an intense focus. Kakashi's challenge had triggered something deeper within him, and he knew this was the moment to demonstrate the full scope of his abilities.

He nodded, and in the blink of an eye, they both vanished from their positions with a sharp crack of air, leaving behind only the dust and the echoes of their steps. In an instant, Yuma reappeared behind Kakashi, his kunai glowing faintly with the mark of the Flying Thunder God. The air felt charged with the intensity of the moment, and Kakashi spun just in time to block the incoming attack, but the precision and speed were too much. The blade stopped just short of his neck.

Kakashi froze, his eyes wide as the cold steel of Yuma's sword pressed lightly against his skin.

"Enough, Kakashi," Yuma said softly, sheathing his weapon once more. "The mark is already on you. I've already won this round."

Kakashi's mind raced as he realized what had just happened. His pupils dilated in shock, but then a smirk slowly crept across his face. "You've been practicing, huh?"

Yuma gave a slight grin in return. "I told you, I'm just getting started."

Namikaze Minato, who had been watching the battle with his team, clapped his hands to draw attention. "Well done, both of you," he said with a smile. He walked forward, placing a hand on Kakashi's shoulder. "Don't feel too bad, Kakashi. You were up against a different kind of opponent today."

Kakashi gave a wry smile, but it was clear that he respected Yuma's growth. His friend had become far more than just a partner; he had become a formidable rival.

Yuma turned his attention back to Minato. "What's next, Sensei?"

Minato's smile widened as he pulled out a scroll from his ninja bag. "There's a new mission. You've shown incredible growth, Yuma. Now, I'm entrusting you with something important."

Yuma's eyes sparkled with anticipation. He had already proven his strength here, but now, a new challenge awaited.

"The mission is in the Land of the Wind," Minato continued. "We leave soon. Be prepared for what's coming. The dangers there are unlike any we've faced before."

Yuma nodded, his expression shifting to one of determination. He had come so far, and now, the real journey was beginning.

As he prepared for the mission, he knew one thing for certain: with his unique blend of Uchiha-ryu, the Flying Thunder God, and his unyielding resolve, he was ready for whatever came next.

And so, the day marked the beginning of a new chapter for Uchiha Yuma. His path, intertwined with those of his friends and mentors, would soon take him into a dangerous world where the stakes were higher than ever.

"Let's go," he whispered to himself, ready for the adventure that awaited in the Land of the Wind.
