Hokage : My Nine tails are getting more and more

Chapter 30: Ch-30:Kushina goes to the hokage's office

Kushina noticed Kurama's reaction and covered her mouth to stifle a soft laugh. Though the seal had been undone, Kurama seemed to be in high spirits, and most importantly, he hadn't attacked Naruto. Observing this, Kushina felt relieved. It seemed that Naruto and Kurama had formed a genuine bond, something that greatly reassured her.

As a former Jinchūriki herself, Kushina understood the challenges of that life. She knew how Jinchūriki were often treated by the villagers, feared and shunned. Luckily, Naruto's special status as the son of the Fourth Hokage would likely protect him from such discrimination. She hoped that, unlike her own experience, Naruto wouldn't be called a monster or ostracized.

Even though Naruto and Kurama, now called Kingsu, seemed to be on good terms, Kushina felt she still needed to ask some questions. She took Naruto's hand and smiled warmly. "Little Naruto, I'm your mother," she said, leaning down to gently touch his face. "You look just like Minato."

Naruto blushed, feeling a bit awkward but not resisting her touch. He had never experienced motherly affection in his life—whether in his past life or since coming to this world. He had always been an orphan, and family love was foreign to him. The last time he encountered his father, the Fourth Hokage, it was brief, with little time for any emotional connection.

Now, faced with his mother, Naruto felt overwhelmed. Kushina could sense the flood of emotions in her son and her heart ached. She knew she hadn't been there for him as a mother should, but circumstances had been beyond her control.

Not wanting to overwhelm him, Kushina kept things light. She was just grateful that Naruto was alive, well, and on good terms with Kurama. That was enough for her. Still, there was one matter she had to address. "Little Naruto," she began, "why did you decide to break Kingsu's seal?"

Kurama's booming voice erupted immediately. "I told you, my name is not Kingsu!"

Kushina turned toward Kurama, holding a finger to her lips, signaling for him to be quiet. Kurama groaned in exasperation but fell silent.

Naruto explained the events that led him to unseal Kurama. Kushina listened attentively, and when Naruto finished, she smiled kindly at Kurama. "Thank you very much, Kingsu," she said.

Kurama grumbled, "I said stop calling me that… Forget it…" He sighed and lay back down, resigned to his fate.

But Kushina's next words made Kurama tense with concern. "Naruto," she said, "even though Kingsu has helped you and earned your trust, I don't think it's entirely safe."

"What?!" Kurama bellowed, sitting up. "You think I'm going to kill Naruto?"

Kurama's anger was genuine. Despite being the Nine-Tails, a beast feared for its destructive power, Kurama had begun to trust Naruto, especially after Naruto had trusted him almost unconditionally. The thought of betraying that trust infuriated him.

Kushina shook her head, her voice patient and calm. "No, Kingsu, I don't think you'll harm him. But as a mother, I can't ignore the possibility, however small. Naruto trusts you. Why don't you trust him the same way?"

Kurama's eyes narrowed. "I do trust Naruto," he growled, "but I've lived long enough to know that humans can be unpredictable."

Kushina continued, ignoring Kurama's protests. "If you truly trust Naruto, then you shouldn't be concerned about the seal. When the time comes, Naruto will release you on his own."

Naruto stood by, listening to his mother's words. He understood her point, and though Kurama hadn't done anything to harm him, he knew his mother was right to be cautious. It wasn't just about trust—it was about ensuring everyone's safety.

Feeling a surge of warmth in his heart, Naruto turned to Kurama. "Yeah, Kingsu, don't you trust me? You don't have anything to worry about. We're friends, right?"

Kurama stared at Naruto, torn between pride and resignation. In front of him were the innocent, trusting eyes of Naruto and the firm but gentle reasoning of Kushina. Did he really trust Naruto?

The truth was, Kurama had begun to. Naruto had trusted him without hesitation, and despite his distrust of humans, Kurama felt something different with Naruto. But still, the thought of being sealed again made him uneasy.

Kushina spoke once more, her tone soft yet firm. "Kingsu, if you and Naruto are truly friends, then you'll understand that sometimes friends need to look out for each other."

Kurama sighed deeply, his massive body slumping in defeat. "This will be the last time I trust a human," he muttered, his voice filled with reluctant acceptance.

Naruto grinned, sensing Kurama's agreement. He immediately began the process of sealing Kurama, this time using an enhanced version of the Eight Sign Seal. As the seal locked into place, Kurama groaned. "Hey! Ease up! I can't even see what's going on outside!"

"Sorry, sorry!" Naruto apologized, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. "I'll loosen it up later. Don't worry, Kingsu, you'll be free again soon."

Kushina, who had originally planned to handle the sealing herself, watched in surprise as Naruto expertly used the Eight Sign Seal. She hadn't expected him to know such advanced techniques. Seeing this, she felt even more reassured.

Her work done, Kushina approached Naruto and wrapped him in a warm embrace. They spoke for a while about life, the village, and things she wanted him to know. Naruto listened, his heart full as he took in every word from this gentle, caring woman who was his mother.

After some time, though, Kushina wanted to leave the sealed space and see the outside world for herself. Naruto, feeling a bit guilty, hesitated. "Um... Mom… I think it's better if we say goodbye here."

Hearing Naruto call her "Mom" made Kushina pause. She could sense his reluctance and knew something was wrong. "Naruto," she asked gently, "are you being bullied? Don't worry. If anyone's mistreating you, your mother will take care of it."

Naruto's heart raced. There was no way he could let Kushina see what was really happening outside. But he couldn't keep her locked in the sealed space forever, either. Reluctantly, he allowed her to exit.

When Kushina stepped outside, she used the Transformation Technique to disguise herself as a young girl. Naruto and Kushina rejoined the group of students, who had already gathered together. As they walked, Kushina's expression softened with nostalgia.

"Ah, a survival exercise," she mused, remembering her own time in the village. "This takes me back to when I was your age…"

She trailed off, lost in thought.

Iruka, noticing Naruto's return, hurried over. "Naruto! Where have you been? Do you have any idea what just happened? What if there had been danger? You can't just wander off like that!"

Kushina smiled, seeing how much Iruka cared for her son. She felt a sense of pride and gratitude toward the teacher.

Iruka then noticed Kushina, still in her transformed state. He looked at her closely, a frown forming. "Naruto," he asked, "where did you find this little girl?"

Kushina quickly made up an excuse, trying to deflect his suspicion. But Iruka wasn't so easily fooled. He decided to take both Naruto and the disguised Kushina to the Hokage's office for further questioning.

As they walked through the village, Kushina's expression became more strained. She noticed the way some of the villagers looked at Naruto—how they avoided him, how some whispered behind his back. These weren't the warm, accepting gazes she had hoped for.

Kushina's frown deepened. Could it be that someone had deliberately concealed Naruto's identity? If the villagers knew who Naruto really was, would they treat him this way? Her thoughts turned to the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen. Had he kept the truth about Naruto hidden?

Her heart heavy with concern, Kushina vowed to get to the bottom of it.
