Hokage : My Nine tails are getting more and more

Chapter 45: Chapter 45 - Kurama's Frustration

"Hahaha, you can't beat me, can you, Fry?!"

Kurama's voice echoed with a mix of amusement and disbelief.

"Naruto, you can't defeat him?"

Kurama's tone was surprised as it watched the situation unfold. Naruto, however, wore a strange expression as he responded, "How strong do you think I am?"

"With a few sealing techniques, some chakra, and a half-baked Wood Style that's still in its early development stages?" Kurama replied, a bit more sarcastic than usual.

Naruto's words hit a sore spot, leaving Kurama frustrated. It was lying down, trying to relax, when suddenly a madman attacked it. The opponent had a sword that could shift shapes, sealing three of Kurama's tails in one swift move. Before it could even fully recover, another surprise attack came in the form of a shark—too quick for Kurama to react. Even after fleeing, it couldn't escape the relentless red giant pursuing it.

Kurama wasn't exactly in peak condition. It had been attacked, and its chakra was drained. If not for the sneak attacks, it might have had a chance to fight back.

But here it was—facing a red giant it couldn't handle, and worse, unable to even counter Naruto's sealing technique. It was a frustrating, humbling experience for the mighty tailed beast.

Naruto, riding on Kurama, was doing his best to manage the situation, but the attack from Uchiha Itachi was relentless. From a distance, Uchiha Itachi controlled Susanoo, summoning a spiritual weapon in the form of three red magatama. The magatama spun and were drawn in by a red chakra thread, pulled by Susanoo's massive hand. Without hesitation, Itachi launched the spinning magatama toward Kurama.

"Not good," Naruto thought quickly, realizing the danger. He immediately attempted to retreat, but it was already too late. Kurama sensed the overwhelming force of the attack and, enraged, decided to fight back.

"Am I supposed to be scared of you?" Kurama growled, opening its mouth to condense a Tailed Beast Bomb. However, since it had been drained of chakra, the bomb that formed was small and far less powerful than it could have been.

The Tailed Beast Bomb shot toward the magatama, but it was expertly dodged by Itachi's manipulation. The magatama, propelled by the chakra thread, flew directly toward Kurama. At the same time, the Tailed Beast Bomb struck Susanoo's Yata Mirror, shattering some of its chakra defense. The shockwave was immense, but it only caused minor damage to Susanoo's form.

Meanwhile, the magatama found its mark, hitting Kurama squarely in the back, sending it soaring into the sky with a massive explosion. The resulting burst of chakra created an intense flame—Madara's flames—scorching the sky above. The aftermath was fierce enough to leave Naruto temporarily shaken, though the damage to him was minimal.

When the chaos finally subsided, Kurama's colossal body fell to the ground with a thud. Uchiha Itachi, looking cold and calculating, approached Kurama's fallen form, his eyes filled with icy resolve.

Kurama, still reeling from the attack, weakly mocked Itachi, "The Uchiha clan, the Mangekyō… What a joke. If I were at full strength, I could wipe you out with a single swipe."

Naruto, still reeling from everything, watched as Itachi closed the distance, preparing to finish the job. "Uchiha Itachi, is there no other way you can talk this out?" Naruto interjected.

To his surprise, Itachi simply dismissed the taunt, dismissing Susanoo entirely. Itachi's exhaustion from using the technique was clear, as he collapsed, visibly struggling to maintain his composure.

Kurama, who had been barely clinging to consciousness, couldn't help but continue to mock the fallen Itachi, "You're just a sick boy. If I were at my prime, I'd end you with a single slap."

Naruto, somewhat awkward, urged Kurama to stop, "Kurama, you're in no position to say anything. Just rest already."

In truth, Kurama was frightened. Having been sealed for so long, it had barely any chakra left, making it more vulnerable than ever before.

It had spent one hundred and eighty years confined, and now, should the shinobi order collapse, it feared it might never find another Jinchūriki. Its only option would be to wait to be sealed in the Ten Fists Sword, where it would remain trapped for hundreds—if not thousands—of years, suffocating in the dark.

Uchiha Itachi, meanwhile, was trying to process everything. "What exactly is going on?" he asked, looking toward Naruto.

Naruto, still somewhat shaken, explained the situation. He and Kurama had reconciled, and after Naruto had freed Kurama, the two had agreed that the tailed beast would stay within the Land of Fire to maintain the balance between the five great nations.

Itachi, unfamiliar with the details, assumed that the presence of Kurama meant something had gone wrong in Konoha. After all, without a Jinchūriki, a large village like Konoha would be vulnerable. Realizing the importance of Kurama, Itachi made up his mind. He would seal the Nine-Tails in the Juken Sword and find a suitable Jinchūriki for it in Konoha.

As for Kisame, he had already been taken under Itachi's control through a genjutsu. However, with this new development, Itachi couldn't proceed as planned.

Itachi, after a brief moment of silence, sat down to rest, his physical condition deteriorating further from the overuse of Susanoo. Kurama, for its part, attempted to recover its chakra. Its powerful regeneration abilities were beginning to show results, and soon enough, it was standing tall again.

Once Itachi had regained some of his composure, he released Kurama's chakra from the Juken Sword. Kurama absorbed the chakra greedily, already on its feet and more alert than before.

Itachi, his voice still cold, spoke to Naruto. "Nine-Tails should not leave Konoha. The Akatsuki organization is after the tailed beasts."

"The Akatsuki?" Kurama was puzzled. It had been sealed for so long that it had no knowledge of the group, but the fact that it made Itachi anxious told Kurama all it needed to know about their strength.

Kurama's fear intensified. Despite its status as a powerful weapon, when faced with such formidable human opponents, it was merely a tool—vulnerable and at their mercy.

Itachi's words hung in the air as he prepared to leave, making his way toward the horizon. His eyes met Naruto's briefly, and the two shared a silent understanding. Naruto, although confused by the events, didn't feel the need to confront Itachi further. After all, the Uchiha was a complicated figure, and it was clear that his actions stemmed from a mix of duty and personal conflict.

After Itachi's departure, Naruto found himself caught in a whirlwind of emotions. He still couldn't fathom how Itachi had managed to defeat Kurama, even though it had only been a half-strength battle. The odds seemed insurmountable, yet here they were.

But instead of worrying, Naruto pushed the thoughts aside. He knew that the future held more challenges, and Kurama—though irritated and sarcastic—was still a powerful ally. The road ahead was uncertain, but at least for now, they had each other's backs.

Kurama's voice interrupted Naruto's thoughts. "Naruto, maybe you should just seal me away," it suggested nervously. "My presence is too noticeable. If the Akatsuki comes for me, I won't be able to handle them."

Naruto, however, refused to consider such a thing. He pulled aside his shirt to reveal the full sealing seal on his stomach. Kurama's eyes widened in surprise. There was something in the way it felt—like the sharp pang of jealousy and regret. It was almost as if Kurama had been replaced by something more permanent, something better than itself.

"I thought I was the one who mattered to you," Kurama mused, its voice taking on a melancholic tone. "And yet… here you are with a seal better than me."

Naruto could only smile as the oddity of the situation hit him. For the first time, he could feel Kurama's vulnerability. And as strange as it seemed, he had never felt closer to the fox spirit.
