Hokage : My Nine tails are getting more and more

Chapter 64: Chapter 65: It's Now!

Flashback

Orochimaru's previous attempt to overpower Naruto had failed due to the latter's incredible strength. However, Orochimaru wasn't one to retreat so easily. Instead of leaving, he remained hidden, lurking near Naruto's team, waiting for the right opportunity.

His goal was clear: to place the Curse Mark of Heaven on Sasuke and use his ambition for power to lure him into defecting.

Present

When Orochimaru noticed Naruto leaving the team, he knew his chance had finally arrived. But just as he prepared to act, an unexpected situation unfolded. Sasuke and Haruno Sakura found themselves in trouble.

The scene was chaotic, as if a large event had suddenly broken out. A surprising number of people had gathered in the area, including Orochimaru's own subordinates.

Naruto, who had initially left, quickly returned with Setsu. Without hesitation, he launched a black sphere of ninjutsu at Toth, one of Orochimaru's men.

The power unleashed was indescribable. It wasn't just big—it was monumental.

Orochimaru, hiding in the shadows, observed Naruto carefully, his brows furrowed in deep thought.

"Naruto in this state is troublesome," Orochimaru muttered. "I'll need a more precise opportunity."

Naruto soon drove away everyone except his Konoha comrades, successfully acquiring a second scroll for his team. With their mission complete, Naruto's team decided to head for the central tower.

As they traveled, Haruno Sakura couldn't help but glance at the girl beside Naruto—Setsu.

She felt a pang of jealousy. Setsu was undeniably beautiful, and Naruto treated her with a warmth that stung Sakura's heart.

"Naruto," Sakura finally asked, unable to suppress her curiosity, "who is she?"

Before Naruto could respond, Setsu stepped forward, arms crossed, and looked Sakura up and down.

"Oh, I know you," Setsu said with a sly smile. "You're the one chasing Naruto-kun but failing miserably." She chuckled darkly. "Pathetic."

Sakura's face flushed with anger. "Don't get cocky! I've spent more time with Naruto-kun than you. You're just a third party!"

Setsu laughed at the accusation. "A third party? Then what does that make you? The one who's always been behind?"

"Behind?" Sakura sputtered, her frustration mounting.

Naruto and Sasuke exchanged weary glances, watching the argument unfold.

It wasn't long before Sakura's anger boiled over, her face red with humiliation. She clenched her fists, her frustration evident, but she didn't dare lash out physically.

Naruto finally stepped in to end the squabble. "That's enough," he said firmly.

With tensions defused, the group made their way to the central tower. Upon arrival, they encountered Iruka's clone and prepared to wait for the remaining candidates to complete their tasks.

Meanwhile, Orochimaru, still lurking in the shadows, was growing increasingly frustrated.

"Sasuke is too well-protected," he grumbled. "Naruto's presence makes it impossible to act. And now that they've reached the tower, the window of opportunity has closed even further."

He was on the verge of giving up when a deafening roar echoed through the forest. The ground trembled, and an oppressive energy filled the air.

"What is this?" Orochimaru muttered, his sharp senses detecting the unmistakable chakra of a tailed beast.

He turned to see a massive figure in the distance—a colossal civet cat wreaking havoc. Candidates fled in all directions, their faces pale with fear.

"Has the One-Tail gone berserk?" Orochimaru's eyes narrowed. "What are the fools from Sunagakure playing at?"

At the Central Tower

Naruto's team, along with several others who had reached the tower, heard the commotion and stepped outside.

"What's that?" one candidate gasped, his voice trembling. "A... tailed beast?"

Panic spread rapidly among the gathered teams. The sheer size and power of the One-Tail, Shukaku, was overwhelming. Many turned and ran, hoping to escape the carnage.

Shukaku rampaged indiscriminately, driving candidates toward the central tower in a desperate bid to flee. Among the fleeing groups were Team Shikamaru and Team Neji.

Naruto, standing at the forefront, observed the chaos. "System," he thought, "if I take down Shukaku, will my score be upgraded to an S rank?"

[Ding~ Yes!]

Naruto's eyes lit up with determination.

"Alright," he muttered. "Let's do this."

Though the reason for Shukaku's sudden rampage was unclear, Naruto saw it as an opportunity.

Sasuke, standing beside him, asked nervously, "Naruto, what should we do?"

Naruto's response was calm but firm. "You all stay here and keep a safe distance. I'll handle this."

"Naruto, this is dangerous!" Sakura protested. "This isn't something you can handle alone!"

Setsu grabbed Naruto's sleeve, her face filled with worry. "Naruto-kun, Sakura's right. Let's leave this to the adults."

Naruto smiled reassuringly. "You've misunderstood. I'm not asking for help—I'm telling you to stay out of the way."

Without waiting for a reply, Naruto activated the Super Light-Weighted Rock Technique, allowing him to fly. He ascended into the sky, heading straight for Shukaku.

Setsu's panic grew as she watched him leave. She tried to follow but was stopped by Sasuke.

"Don't make things worse," Sasuke said coldly.

Setsu glared at him. "You're the one making things worse!"

Before Sasuke could respond, she added, "I can restore Naruto-kun's chakra. Can you say the same?"

Realizing the truth of her words, Sasuke reluctantly backed down, leading Sakura and the others to safety. Setsu, however, moved in the opposite direction, choosing to observe from the shadows.

From his hiding spot, Orochimaru saw Sasuke separated from Naruto and seized the moment.

"Perfect," he whispered, a malicious grin spreading across his face.

While Naruto engaged Shukaku, Orochimaru cornered Sasuke. This time, he didn't toy with him. Using his full power, Orochimaru marked Sasuke with the Curse Mark before retreating into the forest.

Sakura, horrified, dragged an unconscious Sasuke back to the tower.

Meanwhile

Naruto floated above Shukaku, assessing the situation. Below, Team Shikamaru and Team Neji were fleeing for their lives.

"Naruto!" Shikamaru yelled. "Get out of here! That's a tailed beast!"

Naruto ignored the warning. His expression hardened as he prepared to act. He summoned Adamantine Sealing Chains, targeting Shukaku.

At that moment, Tenten, still fleeing with her team, spotted Naruto in the sky. She pulled out a camera, snapping rapid-fire photos as she shouted, "Now!!!"

Her teammates, including Haruto and Neji, stared at her in shock.

"Are you seriously taking pictures right now?"
