Third-person pov:

A few days later.

Headmaster's office.

Snape entered the office and found the old headmaster standing over the pensive deep in thought. Dumbledore seems a little preoccupied for the past few days and with the sudden inquires about the state of the Dark Lord Snape found himself more than curious about such change in the old wizard.

"Nothing has changed" Snape said breaking the silence "The Dark Lord's mark is as faint as ever and I have been observing the loyal death eaters and they show no signs of his return, even his fanatics are clueless about his state."

All Snape got for his report is a slow nod from the old wizard. "You seem a little restless Headmaster" Snape probed a little.

"It is nice to see that you care about your dear Headmaster, Severus" The old wizard said with a chuckle.

Snape snorted at such ridiculous implication "I just think that I should be privy to things that make even you worry, after all it is my head that is on the line every time I spy for you. We both know that the Dark Lord and his followers don't take kindly to traitors."

Seeing that Snape won't let go Dumbledore sighed " A powerful magic artefact just seemingly disappeared from my office, seeing that Tom is the only one who has the slightest chance to steal from me without being detected, I already knew that currently Tom is in no position to do something like this but I had to make sure."

"What is it? Maybe I can find it for you. Dark Lord's followers know their way around stolen goods especially if it involves powerful magical artefacts" Snape offered.

Dumbledore just shook his head " I knew this day was coming, I have not been its master for quite a while now. Somethings have a way of eventually getting to their rightful place, there is nothing we can do about that now Severus"

Great! Once again the old wizard is no longer making any sense. If Snape had not witnessed Dumbledore's ridiculous magical powers first hand then he would have been sure that the old wizard has gone senile.

Snape brushed past Headmaster's nonsensical remarks "what of the prophecy? Have you figured out which of those three potter brats is the one who can end the Dark Lord once and for all?" Snape directly asked.

Snape has accepted the fact that nothing can happen between him and Lily, but just thinking about Lily marrying Potter and having children together still left a bitter taste in his mouth. But Snape has no choice in the matter it is because of his actions that Lily almost died at the hands of the Dark Lord that night.

Dumbledore sensed Severus's distress, even now the young man in front of him still couldn't forgive himself for his actions.

"I am still not sure Severus, it could be any one of three" Albus answered.

"You know! you just don't trust me with that information" Snape said harshly. "But don't worry I have figured that out myself, I know it is not Charlie, the boy was born after midnight. Rose is also not the one because while all three of the children were lightly injured that night only Harry had a lighting shaped scar, a scar that exactly matches the Ancient Rune of power and victory"

Dumbledore sighed "Severus we can have all kinds of different interpretations but the truth is when it comes to prophecies is that we can never be certain of anything. You have seen the consequences of messing with prophecy with your own eyes"

Hearing that all of Snape's anger melted away and all that remained was guilt. Albus felt bad for using Snape's own guilt against him but he can't take risks when it comes to their only hope against Tom.

Dumbledore has also reached the same conclusion regarding Harry, the boy is already showing his immense magical potential, just like Tom, the boy can already use magic consciously. Others might think it was just another instance of accidental magic but Dumbledore knows better than that.

Chamber of Secrets, Study.

Harry pov:

Harry entered the study with Ravenclaw's diadem following right behind him. The diadem is floating right behind Harry, he had just taken it out of the Room of Requirements so he can destroy it.

While he was in that room Harry also destroyed the vanishing cabinet that was in there. This way there is no way for death eaters to sneak their way into the school this time.

Seeing the diadem behind Harry the portrait came flying toward him. "How did you find Rowena's diadem? I thought this thing was lost because of her foolish daughter."

"Doesn't matter how I found it, I going to destroy it now, you might want to get back"

"What! You can't just destroy it, this thing is Rowena's life work, this and that hidden chamber of hers. This Diadem is touched by magic." The painting implored harry.

"Look I don't want to destroy it but the last visitor of the chamber made the diadem into a Horcrux, so I don't really have a choice" Harry explained to the painting.

Touched by magic is a term used to describe powerful magical artefacts that magic itself assisted in making. There are many artefacts in Hogwarts that are touched with magic like the pensive, the quill of entrance, book of admittance, goblet of fire, etc. All of these things work only because they are assisted by magic itself, no spell or ward can give the location of all magical children the moment they are born but the quill and book can.

Even the sword of Gryffindor is touched by magic, while all goblin silver can temporarily absorb magical properties but even those weapons are destroyed when they come in contact with basilisk venom. That's why goblins fought wars to get that sword back because no one can replicate the effects of an artefact that is touched by magic.

Ravenclaw's diadem is also touched by magic, while it can't increase the wearer's intelligence it is the only magical artefact that helps a wizard train in mind magic.

Seeing that the portrait refused to listen Harry explained the entire situation with Voldemort and his Horcruxes to the painting.

"Wait! I might have a way to destroy the Horcrux without destroying magical artefacts" the painting suddenly yelled.
