Chapter 349: Chapter 349 : Orion D. Ambrosius
After scanning the entire house and finding no sign of Elenora, Orion's gaze settled on her briefcase, left partially open amidst the chaos. A sinking feeling urged him forward, and he took a deep breath before stepping inside.
As he descended into the briefcase, he found himself in a place that shouldn't have been here—an expansive, grand mansion that he instantly recognized. The walls, the furniture, the towering, intricate architecture… it was all unmistakable, this looked much more new and well maintained to him right now but even then there was no doubt that this place…he knew this place. This was the same manor where he had first encountered Eric. Memories flooded him.
For few seconds, his mind just went blank. Questioning what just happened, didn't he just entered into the Briefcase which Elenra always had and used to protect. Then why he was in this Mansion?
His heart raced in disbelief. What was this place doing here, in Elenora's possession? How was it even possible?
'The fuck, I have been grinding my butt everyday to find Eric and this place is here, with Elena.' And then came anger, disbelieve, grieve, irritation, a small feeling of betrayal. His emotions were a complicated mess right now.
Questions spiraled in his mind. Had Elenora known Eric? Had she been hiding something all along? The shock settled in his chest, making it hard to breathe. But now wasn't the time to get lost in the confusion. He forced himself to push those questions aside; his focus was on finding Elenora.
Orion moved swiftly through the hallways, scanning every shadowed corner, every closed door. He passed rooms that seemed both familiar and unsettling, memories of his previous visit resurfacing with each step. Yet, this time, the silence was deeper, more chilling. He could feel a strange presence here, as if the place itself was haunted by the echoes of the past.
He called her name softly, listening for any response. But there was only silence. He checked room after room, hoping to find some sign of her, any indication that she was here and safe. But every room he entered was empty, untouched, yet somehow brimming with secrets.
Finally, he remember that this is not the only place in the mansion, if Elena was looking for a place to hide then there indeed was an hidden place here.
He thought and turn around, now heading straight to where he first fine that brick, that hidden room.
And sure it is, the room was there, though this time it had differnt magical seal securing it, it wasn't anything in front of Orion. With a wave of his hand, magic swirl around him and opened the door easily.
And what he found there, once again shook him to the core….
The room was dim, shadows casting over her pale form slumped against the wall. Her skin was ashen, and blood was pooling around her.
"Elenora!" Orion rushed to her side, eyes wide with concern. He knelt beside her, instantly checking her injuries, desperate to stop the bleeding. But as he reached out, she weakly raised a hand, signaling for him to stop.
"Orion," she whispered, her voice barely audible. There was a faint smile on her lips, though it was laced with pain. "Listen, please… I need you to do something for me…."
Elenora said with weak voice.
"I…I need something from you, just promise me one thing please…"
"No, anything you want but after I am done healing…," he was saying but she stopped him.
"No…listen, there is no time anymore. Even without this injury I did't had much time." Elenora said with a small smile on her face, making Orion confuse.
What was she talking about, Orion had no idea. Maybe she was blabbering, Orion was planning on too just ignore all her rambling and take her to his house and heal her. But just as he was about to do that he saw she slightly shifted and the he saw something's which further froze him. It was an child. A new born…
"Its a boy…" Elenora smile seeing Orion forzen and said.
"And you still plan on dying. Just quit wasting time and let me take you…." Orion once again said, now his resolve to save her was even more. But she once again shook her head.
"No, its for him that I have to do this. Those…vampires will not stop coming after me and him." She said and Orion just wanted to say, 'let them come, I will erase them before they even know what happened.' However, he couldn't do that, becuase she didn't let him.
"I knew I can't accompany him, I always knew. That is the fate. I don't have much time left Orion…" Elenora said and again he was about to refuse but only now that he realized that she call him Orion, not John.
"Credence told you ?" Orion asked with a little hesitation. He never told her his real name, even though she believe him to much, it was sa little embarrassing.
"Yeah, if not for him then I would have now died naming my son john, haha." even right now she was joking. Orion stop himself from rolling his eyes but then his mind click.
"You…" Orion reacted with a shock. Only now he realized what she meant. She was planning to name her child after him. Suddenly he felt something strange, a feeling he seems to lost for a long time. A feeling of being among family and friends. He don't remember his relationship with her being so good but this girl not only bring him as her only relative in her wedding but also name her son after him.
This were the bonds which he didn't even realized the had in this world, in this time. And now she is dying. Even if he save her, sooner or later he has to go away, back to his own time. Its truely was an strange feeling.
On the side, Elenora saw Orion in shock and said with a smile.
"Sorry, I was planning on surprising you, wanted to see your face. But guess this is a fine time as any…." Elenora smiled and said.
"He… is is Orion D. Ambrosius"
