Chapter 20: Lanayru's Desert (2/2)
Vexalia's POV.
"Okay so my way forward is blocked, again." I summarized, trying to come up with a plan, "I thought you could climb?" Gorko pointed out, "Not in this situation..." I informed him as I tried sticking my claws in the wall, getting them snapped off again, and trying in the sand surrounding, it shifted when I tried climbing.
Distracted with the wall I jumped a little when Gorko poked me, "I think I got a solution for you." He started and showed me a map, "I found this in a chest back where the broken structures are, and it details that there's a path behind this wall that comes from a mining facility, you could use that." The goron suggested, pointing at the path.
Taking a careful look I nodded, "That could work, the problem is finding it, but I should be able to manage." I nodded taking this as the main plan, "Thank you!" I exclaimed before heading off to a path I saw on the map that would bring me back.
Stopping at the edge of the cliff where the path is supposed to be I saw a Goddess Cube up on a cliff, "...I can grow the sword back right?" I asked Fi in curiosity, "That is correct, why do you a-" Fi stopped when I charged the sword and tossed it at the Goddess cube, activating it, but also getting the sword to fall in the chasm, which wasn't a problem since I grew it out of my arm again.
"Mistress, you suck." Fi said after respawning in the new blade, "Whatever." I replied as I used the slingshot to shoot a timeshift stone, making the rails of a cart reappear, allowing me to walk across.
Back in the main part of the desert, I followed the only path I had avaiable and for the first time since getting here I ended up on top of the walls outlining the center of the desert, "This is new..." I commented, looking down at the sand from my now higher position, walking along I found some kind of device with a dial.
Checking it out it was clear it wouldn't work, luckily with a nearby timeshift stone I made it function again, along with one of the robots, "Hey there." I said to it, "You know what this is?" I questioned intending to move on if it wasn't useful, "That's the key to enter the mining facility." The robot explained looking over the dial, "How does it work?" I asked again now really interested.
"Right now it wouldn't work as there's no power, but reactivating the generators will make it work again." The robot explained, "Mistress, I believe that the power of the blade should be able to locate the position of the generators." Fi informed and I felt the sword vibrate slightly as something changed.
Looking at the blade an idea came to mind, "Hmm... If I'm the sword, I can do what the sword can..." I thought out loud before sitting down and concentrating, causing beetles to come out of my body in swarms.
Third Person POV.
First Power Node.
A cluster of bettles flew to where the presence of a generator was at it's highest, finding it in a building hidden behind a wall of sand, but it was locked behind a gate and clearly too worn to work, so the beetle scouted around a bit until they found and activated a timeshift stone.
Now functional, the beetles went to the generator and formed a blade, charging it just in case and thrust it in the slot and twisted it, activating and powering it fully.
Power Node 2.
Another cluster went to a set of statues propped against a wall and the detection function was going crazy in the area, so that left the only logic that the generator was behind a statue, so detonating a beetle for statue, each fell, one revealing the generator, one a timeshift stone, the last an amber thing that a beetle brought back while the rest did their thing activating the generator.
Power Node 3.
The last cluster went past a wall at the beginning of the desert, pulling a lever that activated a shortcut to the area and then went in the building since the generator was obviously there.
Again in a similar setup, the beetles activated a timeshift stone, both rejuvinating the generator and revealing chests hidden by sand, which contents were brought back, and then activated the generator, finally rendering the Key to the Mining Facility usable.
Vexalia's POV.
Calling all the beetles back to me I shivered when they all fused back into me, then I pocketed everything they brought back, "Now the Dial." I said as I put the sword into the slot and twisted each layer into proper position before locking them in.
With that done, I felt the ground shake as a giant building emerged from the middle of the area, "That must be the mining facility." I realized as I jumped over the pit in between the platforms and climbed up to the entrance.
"Mistress, how did you know how that worked and not how a key works?" Fi questioned in confusion, "This one was simple, I don't know what sorcery makes keys work." I explained to which Fi started muttered "I am learning frustration..." As I stepped foot in the facility.
