I accidentally Married the Leader of the Noble Path

Chapter 19 - Feng Shui treasure land

Not long ago, Qin Nan had just killed a Tier 2 spirit beast, and now it seemed another one was lurking in the nearby mountains and forests.

After treating the injured villager and bandaging him up, Qin Nan handed him two large packs of medicine, instructing him to simmer them over low heat for an hour before drinking. “The taste will be bitter, so add some cane sugar if you want,” he advised.

When it came time to pay, the villager, short on money, handed over more than twenty copper coins and two packs of his finest cured meat as compensation.

Qin Nan didn’t mind. Villagers often had little money and typically offered goods to cover medical expenses.

Naturally, Qin Nan wouldn’t make things difficult for them. If he truly needed money, he could always sell medicine in Yangshun City.

Moreover, the goods the villagers provided were always of decent quality, ensuring Qin Nan didn’t lose out.

For instance, the two packs of cured meat he just received would pair wonderfully with rice, enhancing both flavor.

“Dear, don’t forget to use the cured meat when cooking later,” Qin Nan said.

“Got it,” Shangguan Rouyue replied. These days, she had taken over most of the cooking duties.

Despite her appearance as a pampered noblewoman, since marrying into the Qin family, Shangguan Rouyue had taken the initiative to handle all household affairs, big and small.

She truly embodied the saying, “Follow the rooster if you marry a rooster, and follow the dog if you marry a dog.” As expected of the wife he chose—she’s simply exceptional.

As for the spirit beast, Qin Nan wasn’t too concerned. He had already put the matter out of his mind.

Perhaps the beast had only wandered nearby once and had now moved far away.

After enjoying a delicious cured meat lunch, Qin Nan headed to the backyard.

Calling it a backyard wasn’t quite accurate—it was more of a plot of farmland. Rows of raised soil beds were clean and neatly arranged.

Vibrant green plants were thriving, their growth short but vigorous, each one unique.

These weren’t vegetables but medicinal herbs.

Qin Nan had discovered them while foraging in the mountains. He noticed that some herbs had great potential but struggled to grow due to the harsh environment.

So, he brought them home to cultivate.

Now, several plants had matured, a sign that Qin Nan’s cultivation efforts were a success.

Encouraged, Qin Nan decided to expand the herb field, aiming to grow more varieties. Someday, he might no longer need to forage in the mountains and could achieve self-sufficiency.

Looking at the lush and orderly herb field before him, Qin Nan felt a sense of pride.

He grabbed a hoe, ready to continue tilling the land and shaping it into his ideal form.

Just as he was about to start, Shangguan Rouyue called out to him.

“Leave such trivial work to me, hubby,” she said.

With a simple wave of her hand, the ground seemed to come alive, writhing and shifting. A rustling sound filled the air as nearby trees swayed.

The once-empty plot transformed rapidly. Soil beds rose, clean and orderly, while existing ones became taller and more defined.

The entire transformation took only moments.

Had Qin Nan done it manually, it would’ve taken at least a day.

But Shangguan Rouyue didn’t stop there. She raised her other hand, her eyes glowing with an otherworldly light as if grasping something invisible in the air.

The ground trembled even more violently, affecting the entire Niujiao Village. Every villager at home felt as if the earth had come to life beneath their feet.

At first, they thought it was an illusion, but it was all too real.

Even the distant mountains underwent subtle changes.

A mysterious purple aura descended, and a gentle breeze swept toward Niujiao Village, heralding something extraordinary.

Could it be an earthquake?

The villagers were both alarmed and bewildered, unsure of what to do.

Finally, Shangguan Rouyue lowered her hands, and the commotion ceased.

When Qin Nan looked at the herb field again, its size hadn’t changed, but its quality had undergone a complete transformation.

The soil was now rich and dark, exuding vitality. A new stream trickled alongside, flowing endlessly.

It felt like anything planted here would thrive and grow rapidly.

Qin Nan immediately recognized that Shangguan Rouyue had used mystical techniques to alter the land’s very essence.

Though the surface appeared unchanged, the addition of three intertwining ley lines beneath the field had dramatically increased its value.

Over time, these ley lines would further enhance the land, transforming it into a place of extraordinary fortune. Not only would it be perfect for cultivating medicinal herbs, but it would also become an ideal spot for cultivation.

Once it became a spiritual haven, the entire village would benefit greatly.

Previously, Niujiao Village hadn’t even had a single ley line. Now, with three, the change was monumental.

Such an incredible feat wasn’t something just anyone could accomplish.

Qin Nan realized once again that his wife was far more extraordinary than he had imagined.

“What exactly did you do, dear?” Qin Nan feigned ignorance.

“Nothing much, I just redirected the ley lines to make the land better for growing herbs.”

“Soon, this place will become a spiritual haven where cultivation will yield twice the results with half the effort.”

“In fact, I’ve been planning this for a while. It’s inconvenient to always go to the mountains to cultivate. Turning our home into a spiritual haven means even sleeping and breathing here will aid in cultivation. Isn’t that better?”

It was indeed a great idea. But for others, altering ley lines was an unthinkable, impossible task.

Yet Shangguan Rouyue had done it with ease, as if it were no big deal.

“What’s your current cultivation level?” Qin Nan asked curiously.

“That’s a secret,” Shangguan Rouyue replied, feigning mystery.

She wasn’t unwilling to tell him but worried that revealing her level might discourage Qin Nan and affect his motivation to cultivate.

Qin Nan had said he wanted to catch up to her and protect her. If he knew the vast gap between them, he might lose his drive.

To Shangguan Rouyue, it was better to let him maintain his current mindset and keep striving.

Little did she know, Qin Nan, a former demon lord in his past life, wouldn’t lose motivation over such a trivial matter.

Since she didn’t want to share, Qin Nan didn’t press her.

Aside from her cultivation level, he was also curious about Shangguan Rouyue’s identity and the sect she came from.

Someone capable of altering ley lines and creating a spiritual haven couldn’t be an ordinary cultivator. This was a world-shaking feat.

But Qin Nan could tell that she wasn’t keen on revealing her origins, so he wisely refrained from asking.

After all, her identity didn’t matter to him. She was his wife, and that was all that mattered.
