I Am Fugaku Uchiha

"Hmm, it seems that Danzo-sama has given up."

He let the Root ninjas disperse, and Fugaku didn’t make any moves either.

"What do you want to do? Spit it out already," Danzo asked again.

His ninjutsu did nothing, which made him scared. Not to mention that he had only one Sharingan; how could that compare to his pair?

And he was the real deal—the head of the Uchiha clan. However, looking at his calm attitude, he knew that this kid was up to something.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have threatened him, knowing that he had a sharingan. Wouldn’t it be easier to report him to the Third Hokage? So he decided to test his theory.

"Actually, I didn't come today to punish you for your crime; I came to borrow the first Hokage’s wood release jutsu scroll. I wonder if Danzo-sama can do me a favor."  He asked as he dispersed the chakra armor and stared at Danzo with his red eyes.

He didn’t underestimate this shady guy; even if the chances were slim, he couldn’t afford to be careless for a moment.

As for Danzo’s Sharingan eye, he had already known it for a long time, so he didn’t feel much sentimentality at being attacked by someone who had stolen his clan’s member's Sharingan eye. Besides, Danzo still had some use, so he didn’t plan to kill him now.

Danzo hesitated. He did possess the ninjutsu scroll of the first hokage; as a high-ranking Konoha official, he could easily obtain the cells of the first hokage, let alone the scroll.

But he was also puzzled by Fugaku’s request. The wood release ninjutsu scroll? Without wood release, kekkei genkai, what was the point of looking at it?

He had examined it dozens of times, but it was still of no use to him. But he was wary of Fugaku’s increased strength after his half-year journey.

"Let me see it, and I’ll give it back to you tomorrow. Otherwise, I’ll tell the third Hokage about the child you brought back last night and the Sharingan, and then I’ll kill you here. You can try to stop me before the third hokage arrives, but I think you're still friends with hokage-sama, right?"

Fugaku noticed his hesitation and decided to pressure him. He wasn’t sure if the kid was Yamato, but he sensed something fishy from how stealthy Danzo was last night. He took a gamble since he had nothing to lose.

"What?" Danzo was shocked by Fugaku’s threat. He thought he had been very careful, but how did Fugaku know about the child he brought back? The wood release and the Sharingan were his trump cards to suppress the Uchiha and seize the Hokage position.

Should he try to detain him? He dismissed the idea as soon as it came to his mind. Fugaku had just fought him without a scratch and almost destroyed his base.

How could he stop him? And if he guessed right, the third hokage would arrive soon. Besides, Fugaku just wanted to have a look at the scroll.

Without wood release kekkei genkai, it was useless. With that in mind, Danzo clenched his teeth, glared at Fugaku, and threw a scroll from his pocket at him. This scroll was so important that he always carried it with him.

Fugaku grabbed the scroll and looked at it briefly, then closed it. "Thank you, Danzo-sama. You have my word; as long as you don’t interfere with the Uchiha’s affairs, the third hokage will never know about this. Well, goodbye."

He turned around and gathered chakra on his feet, leaping to the exit in a few jumps.

Kinoe watched him go in a daze. Then, the same incident that had taken place earlier flashed in his mind: Danzo, with a cold expression, came out to confront Fugaku, and Fugaku left in a cheerful mood. Danzo's brainwashing had no effect on him.

A few moments later

Fugaku smiled as he held the scroll in his arms, wrapped his arm around Mikoto’s waist, and headed home.

Danzo was sitting in the ruined root base in a gloomy mood. He hated being threatened by the Uchiha, who had always been his sworn enemy. He was puzzled by his own ninjutsu being strangely ineffective, and he was intimidated by his chakra-enhanced punch. He didn’t make any rash moves.

He had heard from the third hokage about the secret of Fugaku’s strength, but he dismissed it as a ridiculous tale. How could he believe that eating some exotic fruit could make someone so strong? He didn’t know that Kaguya had done the same thing with the Divine Fruit.

He angerly looked around at the shattered floor and walls, and He suddenly had an idea, and a cruel smile appeared on his lips.

"Uchiha Fugaku, do you really think I will not attack the Uchiha clan? Hmph!" he said.

He called out to his men. "You there."

"Yes, sir."

Four figures appeared, ready to follow his orders. Danzo didn’t even glance at them.

"Get some earth-style ninjas to fix this place. Fu, you and three others come with me."

"Yes, sir."
