I Am Fugaku Uchiha

Chapter 70: Is my luck that bad?

A group of eight people were on their way to the border of Konoha. They consisted of Ino-Shika-Cho, Tsunade, Orochimaru, Fugaku, Uchiha Saike, and Shizune.

They set up a campfire as night approached. Fugaku gazed in the direction of Konoha with a distant look on his face. He was sad that he had missed the birth of his child in this world. He wished he could do more for his family.

He wondered if his child had been born by now. Was it a boy or a girl? He would be glad if it was a girl, but if it was a boy, would it be Itachi?

"Hey, what's on your mind?"

Tsunade asked him curiously. She sat next to him, leaning against a big tree.

"My child should be born today. I want to spend some time with him." Fugaku gave her a sheepish smile.

"Baby?" Tsunade, weird out.

"Lord Fugaku, why don't you go back to see your child? You can leave us here for a couple of days, right?" Inoichi Yamanaka, who was sitting across the fire,

"What? Is that possible?" he asked in surprise.

He thought himself stupid, and this makes more sense. He thought of himself as the commander-in-chief of the army in the morning.

How could he abandon his duty as the clan head? But then he realized he had Nara Shikaku with him, who was more than capable of holding the position.

Fugaku didn't think he was smarter than Shikaku in terms of intelligence, except for his advantage in future knowledge as a transmigrator.

However, he gazed at the dark night ahead and sighed. He had already covered a day's distance, and it seemed too late to turn back.

"Kekeke, it seems that Lord Fugaku is really thinking about the village."

Orochimaru asked with a wicked smile as he stared at Fugaku, playing with a kunai.

Fugaku wished he could tell them that the village meant nothing to him; he solely sought pleasure in leading the ninjas to war. However, he refrained from speaking his thoughts aloud.

"Of course, Konoha is my home. I must protect it."

He answered while feeling sickened by the lie. He only agreed because he thought Suna was the weakest village among the four villages'.

That's right, he knew information about the villages, and he was sure that Suna was the weakest.

There was a big contrast between Suna village and other villages, such as the fact they know for one tailed beast, while the other countries know for two each tail beast. Suna village lacks sealing and has a harsh environment.

They didn't have many elite ninjas. The Third Kazekage was dead. They had no leader. How come they are not the weakest village?

Tsunade sighed as she thought about her task. How could she do it? The old man had asked her to probe his intentions.

The bonfire was burning, and everyone was silent for a moment.

"Hey, I wanted to ask earlier. You brought this little girl to the war. Is that a good idea?" He asked as he broke the silence and looked at Shizune, the short-haired girl next to Tsunade.

They were going to fight on the frontlines of a battlefield. Why did she bring a child with her? The Uchiha Saike next to him was barely sixteen years old and already a chunin.

And Shizune? She is only ten years old now. Shizune heard Fugaku call her a little girl and pouted, looking annoyed.

"Medic ninjas don't have to fight on the front lines. Shizune's a better medic ninja than most medic ninjas." Tsunade.

But Fugaku knew that Shizune's medical skills were not the sole reason why Tsunade brought her with her. It's because of Kato Dan. Otherwise, a Genin had no place on the frontlines.

He sighed and turned his head back, acknowledging that the team's lineup was impressive, with two members being the Sannin. Plus, Ino-Shika-Cho—even without him, they could beat any Kage-level opponent.

But Orochimaru didn't know why, but he felt uncomfortable no matter how he thought of him.

It was the ninth day since Fugaku had left Konoha.

The blonde, Namikaze Minato, returned to Konoha with his squad.

"What? The clan head went to the front line?"

Obito was shocked when he heard the news from Megumi, who opened the door. He had been on a long mission, and he had hoped to learn how to activate the Sharingan.

But the clan head had gone to the frontline? How unlucky was he?

"Megumi, who is it?"

Mikoto asked softly as she held the baby and looked at the door.

She had recovered almost a week later. She could walk around with the baby in her arms.

Megumi answered respectfully, "It's the clan head's disciple, Obito."

"Oh? It's Obito; Fugaku went to the battlefield. You can come inside."

Mikoto invited him and smiled at Obito. Mikoto had a child, but she still liked Obito very much.

Obito was a cheerful kid, positive and upbeat, making him very likable. His face brightened up when he heard her call, and he went inside to see the baby in Mikoto's arms.

"Is this...the clan head's child?"

"Yes!!"

"So cute... What's his name?"

"Uchiha Itachi!"

" Oh? Itachi? That's a nice name. The clan head's son will definitely be strong when he grows up."

Obito said enviously as he looked at Itachi, who was cute as a baby, in Mikoto's arms.

"Obito, you are so sweet. You are talented too!" Mikoto.

"Ah, haha, not really..." Obito laughed happily and scratched his head. "It took me an afternoon to learn Phoenix Sage Jutsu from the clan head last time!"

He said so because he wanted to show off. It took him an afternoon to learn Phoenix Sage Jutsu.

"You learned it in one afternoon?" Megumi looked surprised when she heard him.

Mikoto was also surprised. Phoenix Sage Jutsu was harder to learn than Fireball Jutsu. It took her two days to learn it. How did Fugaku teach him?
