I am the Emperor of Humanity across the Multiverse

Chapter 148: Chapter 148: Sacrifice and Divinity?

The moment the ten "suns" rose, the entire battlefield seemed to freeze in time. The ensuing brilliance forced humans, elves, and dwarves facing south to instinctively squint, protecting their vision.

As for the believers and orcs who had yet to engage in the battle, their backs to the "suns," they turned after the flash, only to see towering firewaves a hundred meters high sweeping across the ground at incredible speed.

Survival instinct kicked in, and they chose to flee immediately.

Boom——Boom——!!!

In less than the blink of an eye, the shockwave, accompanied by a deafening explosion, engulfed the vanguard of Moydo's main forces. The intense heat of the flames purified most of the filth.

Fortunately, the indiscriminate fiery explosion only spread a kilometer or two from the center of the "suns," sparing the three-race allied forces entrenched in the battlefield.

As the aftershocks subsided, Dwarven Lord Dalein, mounted on a wild boar and wielding a warhammer, gazed at the towering mushroom clouds piercing the sky and couldn't help but exclaim in shock:

"Could it be that the Empire sent a Grand Mage? Or maybe another Elven King??"

Though Dalein was reluctant to admit that elves were superior to dwarves, aside from the human mages of the Empire, only an Elven King could cast such a high-level spell.

At that moment, Hixoton, lifting his helmet visor, rode up beside him and shared his thoughts:

"The Empire only has six Grand Mages, and casting a high-level spell of this magnitude would require significant preparation. As for other Elven Kings, I'm not sure.

But one thing I do know—we don't have the luxury of debating this right now. Queen Tina is under siege by monsters, and we must go and rescue her!"

With that, Hixoton donned his helmet again, leading his guards and volunteer cavalry in a charge to the south, shouting:

"The light has come! Everyone, charge with me! Rescue the Queen!!"

"Charge!!"

The war cry echoed across the battlefield like thunder, stirring the hearts of all races.

In fact, the sudden appearance of the ten "suns" had already boosted the morale of the allied forces to its peak, creating a rare opportunity to breathe. The cavalry, ignoring their exhaustion, charged again, while the elven archers seized the moment to take precise shots at the commanders among the believers and orcs. Meanwhile, the griffon knights destroyed the siege engines of the vanguard.

"Think you can take me while I'm distracted?" Dalein, having regained his focus, angrily swung his warhammer, shattering the knee of an orc attempting to ambush him. With another swing, he crushed the orc's head, then, laughing wildly, followed Hixoton on his wild boar, shouting:

"Charge! Haha! Let's rescue that riddle-loving Elven Queen! That way, the elves will owe us a favor... Haha! I can already imagine their defeated faces!"

"Hrumph!"

Dalein's massive wild boar roared alongside him, using its strong body and long tusks to ram and kill the followers of Moydo. His words inspired the dwarf riders on their mountain goats or similar creatures to accelerate, quickly catching up with Hixoton's advance.

On Tina's side of the battle, things were dire.

Her elven guards had nearly all perished, her white stag mount lay dead, and she was left to fight the encroaching monsters alone.

Clang!!

Despite her slender frame, the Elven Queen Tina held her sword in one hand, effortlessly blocking the double-handed hammer strike of the Blood General. The size difference between the two was staggering. Tina stood about 1.9 meters tall, while the Blood General was over six meters. With wingspan exceeding twenty meters and bat-like wings, it resembled a twisted and grotesque monster, like something straight out of a Doom universe—completely demonic.

Yet, despite this, Tina easily parried its blow. With a slight twist of her wrist, she deflected the hammer and, moving like a shadow, sped behind the Blood General, thrusting her sword into its lower back.

Szzzt!

The silver blade pierced through magical barriers and tough skin, and with a twist, she destroyed part of its internal organs.

"Roar!!"

In pain, the Blood General howled, flapping its bat wings frantically to escape into the sky, distancing itself from Tina. From this elevated position, it surveyed the battlefield below and realized its vanguard forces were on the verge of total collapse.

Those ten miniature suns had wiped out more than half of its army. It had brought nearly 300,000 believers and orcs, along with numerous giant beasts and siege engines. Without the sudden, unknown high-level magic, they would have already dealt with the allied forces outside the city and completed the divine expansion decreed by Moydo.

But now, their progress had been severely delayed. At this rate, it would fall behind the other generals.

Looking down, the Blood General saw that although the Elven Queen couldn't defeat all its brothers, she could easily outmaneuver them with her incredible speed and reflexes. When it noticed Hixoton and Dalein's reinforcements approaching, the Blood General decided to abandon its hammer, spread its powerful arms wide, and gazed devoutly towards the South Abyss:

"Lord! I offer my flesh, blood, and soul, along with those of my brothers, as a sacrifice to you! Grant us greater strength to help you destroy all obstacles!"

Its hoarse, fanatical voice echoed across the battlefield.

The black clouds covering the sky began to churn.

Boom. Boom!!!

Thunder suddenly roared, and from the swirling clouds, pillars of crimson light descended, dragging the Blood General and its brothers into them.

!

Witnessing this spectacle, even Queen Tina was taken aback, stepping back and quickly reuniting with the arriving Dalein, Hixoton, and their forces.

"By the gods, what kind of blasphemy is this..." Dalein muttered as he looked up.

"Does Moydo truly possess divinity?" Hixoton's faith wavered, and he found himself trapped in a storm of doubt and confusion.

Although the Lord of the Sand Sea had fought the followers and orcs for decades with courage, he was still only human. The events of the past few days, especially what he saw now, exceeded his capacity to comprehend, shaking both his mind and soul.

Hixoton couldn't help but question whether Moydo could be defeated, destroyed, or if the deity indeed had divinity.

The red light pillars above them defied any magical explanation, especially since they seemed to answer the Blood General's fervent plea as if some god had responded.

"Snap out of it!"

Tina, noticing the dazed and confused expressions of Hixoton and the human cavalry, quickly cast a silver magical barrier to shield them.

At that moment, the crimson pillars representing the sacrificial ritual vanished.

The Blood General, having fully sacrificed itself to Moydo, reappeared before them.

Its already massive frame had swelled to sixty meters tall. The horns on its head had grown more prominent, and its bat wings now emitted a dark red mist, resembling the "demon" from ancient myths.

"Roar!!!"

The transformed Blood General roared toward the heavens, announcing its arrival.

"Your Majesty," Dalein, controlling his trembling wild boar, approached Tina and, for once, respectfully asked:

"What should we do about that thing? You must have a plan, right? You're an elf who excels at magic, after all."

"..."

Tina didn't know how to answer, her expression growing grim.

However, when she saw eight more blazing "fireballs" breaking through the dark clouds above the Blood General, her eyes filled with disbelief and... anticipation?

The fireballs seemed controlled, accelerating and adjusting their trajectory until, at the very last moment, they slowed just before hitting the ground.

One of the "fireballs" landed a hundred meters away from Tina and her companions.
