I am trapped in the same day for a thousand years

Chapter 2 - Tips

Chapter 2: Tips

Liu Le furrowed his brows tightly and reached out to flick the switch. In the pitch-black space, he accurately hit the LED light switch, instantly brightening the space. An old man with a large beard leaned in close to his ear and spoke.

“You old fart! Can’t you come up with some new lines? It’s been a thousand years! Are you not tired of this every day?”

The old man waved his hand dismissively, assuming an air of transcendence, dressed in a robe that seemed extraordinary, resembling a fortune-teller under a bridge.

“So long, and yet you still refuse?”

The old man, named Tianyuan, often referred to himself as Tianyuan the transcendent.

He possessed immense magical powers.

For a thousand years, Liu Le hadn’t been able to escape from the old man’s grasp.

“Be someone’s slave? Even if you give me another ten thousand years, I’ll never agree! I advise you to release me quickly! Otherwise, the day I find out who you want me to protect, I’ll kill him eight times a day!”

Liu Le’s emotions were extremely unstable, his expression appearing manic. Well, wouldn’t you go crazy after a thousand years?

“This is not accurate. Didn’t we make a bet at the beginning? And you called me a cheat! Damn it! Do you believe me now?”

The first half of his speech was still delivered with an air of transcendence, with a hint of the so-called grand celestial voice. But the latter half took on the demeanor of a rogue and a ruffian.

This guy claimed he wasn’t a cheat, but he was just a cheat and a ruffian! Liu Le couldn’t be bothered with him. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights in the 21st century, and I’m supposed to be someone’s slave? Go to hell! I’d rather die than comply! He was about to push open the door to embrace his new… same old day!

“In fact, you have already mastered the fundamental essence of Tianyuan’s teachings. As long as you step out of this pocket universe, there are few people in the world who can trouble you. But since you insist on helping this old man out, why are you so stubborn?”

Towards the end, Tianyuan couldn’t help but curse.

“Humph, life is precious, but freedom is even more valuable. If one must choose between dignity and either of the former, both can be forsaken!”

Tianyuan was truly on the verge of tears. After living for who knows how many years, he couldn’t withstand a little brat! Liu Le had been trapped for a thousand years, but Tianyuan was in the same boat. To test him, Tianyuan repeated the same question every day: Have you considered it carefully?

Enough of this nonsense!

“Kid, let’s negotiate again. Since you’re unwilling to be a slave, how about being a bodyguard for their family? Just the kind that protects them closely at all times.”

Huh?

Liu Le’s hand paused as he pushed the door, thinking for a moment before closing the door and finding himself a chair to sit on. He seemed ready for a discussion.

Tianyuan felt deeply aggrieved, tears welling up from the bottom of his heart. Why the hell did he have to deal with this brat every day? Why couldn’t he listen?

“If you’re a bodyguard? That’s acceptable. But you were taught by me, so why don’t you go?”

Tianyuan flicked some dust away, his mouth curling up into a smile. “The way of the transcendent is to be detached from worldly affairs, to forsake family and kin, destined for loneliness. You cannot get too close to others.”

“Damn it! Then why did you teach me? Am I never going to get married?”

Liu Le cursed, looking like he had been greatly wronged. Tianyuan’s mouth twitched. With all my knowledge and teachings, there are countless people who want to learn, and you’re still playing dumb?

“Humph, your meager knowledge is insignificant. At most, you and those around you might encounter a little trouble. Your abilities are more than enough to handle it.”

After Tianyuan finished speaking, he saw Liu Le giving him a skeptical look, almost causing him to spit out blood.

“Tell me one thing, am I supposed to protect that person for the rest of their life? How is that any different from imprisoning me? At least now I can go wherever I want!”

“That’s simple. As long as you solve their problems for them, you can leave freely.”

Tianyuan sighed, lifting his fluffy head, lost in deep memories. “Back then, in the cave, due to a small mistake, my life was in danger. Fortunately, I met a villager, he…” Liu Le rudely interrupted him, “The address!”

“What?”

“I said the address!”

“Let me finish.”

“Just get to the point! The address!”

Tianyuan’s face darkened.

Liu Le’s face darkened even more.

A thousand years! Every day, he had to see this old face of yours! Who would want to listen to you anymore? After receiving the note from the other party, Tianyuan waved away the dust, and the whole world began to fragment and disintegrate. Suddenly, a brand new world appeared in front of Liu Le.

He was back at the bar, looking at the clock on the wall.

12:01. Do I… have a tomorrow?

A thousand years felt like a moment, the repetition every day making it seem like just one day. The note in his hand told him that all of this was real.

Tears streamed down Liu Le’s face. He had waited for this moment for too long.

Covering his face and crying in pain, he wondered… why… why… Why did he have to end up in a bar! Looking at bottle after bottle, drink after drink, Liu Le’s tears flowed a little faster.

The three dollars and fifty cents in his pocket couldn’t give him any confidence.

The bartender watched Liu Le’s appearance and secretly put his hand on the alarm under the counter. Seeing him cry like this, he was probably unable to pay for his drinks, right?

This little move couldn’t escape Liu Le’s notice.

“Hey, buddy. Does our bar support installment payments? I’ll pay the three-fifty first…”

Liu Le felt guilty as he said this himself.

The other party naturally couldn’t show him any mercy. With a threatening gaze, he said, “What do you think?!”

It’s the first day I’m out of trouble. I can’t just get beaten up to celebrate, right?

“Ahahaha! I’m just kidding! You’re quite the joker!”

“Hmph, just as well.”

The other party didn’t joke at all with the threatening look they gave Liu Le.

Scratching his head, Liu Le’s brain was spinning rapidly. With a smile, he said, “Another drink, please.”

The bartender was smart this time and didn’t serve Liu Le any alcohol.

“Sorry, sir. You need to settle your previous tab before I can serve you.”

Liu Le felt extremely embarrassed. After all these years of coming to this bar every day, drinking away, he’s drunk so much for so many years, and now this happens. He finally got caught.

“You think I don’t have money? What a joke. Do you know where I stayed last night? In the adjacent… five-star hotel! Presidential suite!”

Liu Le shouted loudly, looking arrogant and overbearing. But the bartender looked at him with a threatening look, thinking, “You can brag all you want, but if you don’t pay, I’ll call the cops.”

Liu Le regretted it so much his scalp felt numb. He used to spend every day recklessly, never saving a penny. Now he’s pretending to be rich after staying in a presidential suite at a five-star hotel next door! “Uh, well, I indeed don’t have any money on me right now, but my girlfriend does! She’s at the adjacent hotel, room number 8888, her name is Tang Anqi. We had a little argument this morning and I didn’t take any money. You can send one of your guys to ask her.”

Shameless is shameless. First, get out of this current predicament, then talk! Although the bartender didn’t fully believe it, it wouldn’t hurt to ask. As long as the person is still in the hotel, he’s not afraid of any tricks. He told a staff member beside him, “Go ask at the hotel. I’ll keep an eye on him.”

The staff member left the bar, and Liu Le grinned and said, “Now, can you serve me a drink?”

The bartender, very unwillingly, made Liu Le a margarita.

As he drank this sweet cocktail, Liu Le felt incredibly anxious. Who knows if the person is still in the room, or if they’ll pay for the drinks even if they are? I can’t relax until I’m out of this situation. After a while, the bartender’s phone rang. It seemed to be a call from one of the bar’s staff. Seeing the other person looking very alert, Zhang Fan remained calm on the surface, elegantly asking the other person to answer the phone.

“Hello, what’s the situation?”

…”You got the money? Okay, then.”

…”Oh, I’ll pass on the message.”

After hanging up the phone, he said something that made Liu Le freeze.

“The lady said: consider this payment for the tip she gave you!”
