I Became a New Magical Girl Priest

Chapter 265

Watching the girls fight over me felt like an indescribable emotion.

No, of course, this isn’t that sort of story.

They’re fighting over my signature.

I scratched my head.

So… are they fighting just because of my signature?

It’s not like there aren’t enough signatures to go around; they’re just trying to get their hands on one a little faster, right?

They’re getting upset and reacting strangely over that?

“…I really can’t figure it out.”

As I leaned back against the training room wall, Ha-yoon, who was sitting next to me, shot me an odd glare for some reason.

“What’s up?”

“Nothing, just forget about it.”

Seeing her turn her head away like that makes me think she knows something, but I still have no idea what it is, so I decided to just keep my mouth shut.

Honestly, the sparring itself is kind of funny.

Even after everyone got close because of me, they ended up sparring against each other without causing any damage, right?

The biggest reason was that we all had different fighting styles.

I was the only one who had jumped in and hit everyone at least once. Even in Chae-yeon’s case, she claimed her position was special, so that made it a bit different, but still.

But now, they want to spar for a reason like that?

“Seriously, why?”

“….”

Chae-yeon, sitting beside me, was staring at me intently.

“You really have no clue, do you?”

“I mean, if you’re going to say that, give me some hints or something.”

“I want your signature, obviously.”

Jua chimed in.

So, I gave my signature—wait, never mind.

I don’t think I’m getting anything out of adding anything more to this.

I let out a deep sigh and watched as the two sparred.

They had both said they wouldn’t fight since their areas of expertise were different, but now that they were at it, it surprisingly turned into a fight.

At first glance, it looked like Seo-hee was struggling a bit more. Seo-hee’s fighting skills were impressive, but Yeon-woo was better at attacking from a distance.

Plus, I had fought alongside Seo-hee during the days of her fighting style—

Boom!

But Seo-hee wasn’t just going to go down without a fight.

“Oh?”

I had let out a sound of surprise without realizing it while watching Seo-hee’s punch.

Seo-hee fought with gauntlets on her hands. And those gauntlets, well, they weren’t exactly a traditional weapon. They referred to the metal part of the armor knights wear on their hands.

Of course, those iron knuckles can be a threatening weapon, and just plain metal gloves can serve as a perfectly good weapon too.

And, well, they were also a “wand.”

The term wand means using magic.

“Yikes!?”

Avoiding a fist flying towards her face, Yeon-woo jumped to the side.

“Heh.”

Seo-hee laughed.

“What the heck was that!?”

Even though it seemed like the punch wouldn’t even touch her, it actually did.

To be precise, it wasn’t the fist itself but some sort of afterimage of it. It was definitely an image, but if you got hit by it, it would really hurt.

That’s because it’s pure magic energy.

“It’s a technique I created based on watching you and Ji-eun spar.”

Seo-hee said that as she moved her fist again.

I could hear the air slicing as if something was moving incredibly fast.

Following the almost whip-like movement of her fist, a red afterimage rushed out to a length far greater than Seo-hee’s arm span.

“Ugh…!”

After dodging that punch a few times, Yeon-woo jumped back to create some distance. Seo-hee’s magic wasn’t bullet-like like Yeon-woo’s, so it seemed to lose power if she got a certain distance away.

Yeon-woo completely tossed aside her earlier composure and raised her wand in front of her face.

Then, glaring at Seo-hee, she swung it quickly in a series of four strikes.

“Yikes!?”

This time, Seo-hee let out a scream and leaned down.

Bam!

The expansive magic energy whooshed behind Seo-hee and hit the wall, making a noise. The wall didn’t break, but it looked like the force of the impact wasn’t that strong. My shotgun’s blast was probably stronger than that.

But this was a different kind of magic.

It was a way to spread a chunk of magical energy over a wide area to knock down the opponent’s body.

The magic bullets spread around like a shotgun wouldn’t make the opponent fall just because they got hit by a couple of small pieces. I mean, the idea of “dodging a shotgun” sounds absurd, but I did manage to do it in this world, so whatever.

Hence, Yeon-woo likely chose to maintain a much longer and wider spread of magical energy to create an impenetrable wall in front of her.

…In a way, both techniques stemmed from me.

There was a burning determination in Seo-hee’s eyes.

And the same went for Yeon-woo.

The same could be said for Jua and Chae-yeon, who were watching the unfolding “new techniques.”

“….”

Well—

Everyone being so energetic is great.

Though it feels like it might be a bit too much, it’s definitely better than when I first joined.

As I nodded to myself, the sharp gazes of the three girls turned back to me.

…..

Sigh, let’s not talk.

“So, you’re saying I helped you all so much that it was possible?”

After all the sparring was over, I finally got to ask about it.

We didn’t have anyone I could call a teacher. In this country, we were the first generation of beings like this, and so we had to come up with all the tactics and strategies ourselves.

We didn’t choose people based on specialties or qualifications; we just gathered kids with a bit of talent.

Thinking about it, all six of us could have been total brawlers, or the reverse, like Jua, who could exclusively perform long-range attacks.

It’d probably be enough to catch some combatants. But it would get tough if we encountered stronger aliens in many ways.

“Yeah, that’s right.”

Ha-yoon replied as if she were a representative.

“Before you showed up, we couldn’t even stick together.”

Seo-hee, who was sitting with her chair upside down and staring at me, said.

“Everything we did—getting together, researching our own fighting styles, and establishing our positions—was only possible after you joined us.”

“Well, I do appreciate it, really.”

Yeon-woo said.

Jua was enthusiastically nodding beside her while Chae-yeon just gazed silently at me.

Okay, I get it.

And that could also be why they wanted to exchange signatures.

It’s possible that the idols could be fans of other members in their own group… I’m not entirely sure about that, but the ones who think I’m the closest might care a bit about getting signatures before the others.

Was Ha-yoon reacting so sensitively because of that? She was my closest friend, and I gave my first signature to someone I met that day.

Ji-hye’s sensitive reaction could be similar.

…Well, I understand.

I get it, but honestly, I’m not sure if it warrants fighting like that.

The established order from all that intense sparring was Seo-hee, Yeon-woo, Jua, and Chae-yeon. Honestly, it turned out pretty much as I expected.

They fight well and their skills are good—it’s not really about that. Each has their own position. Especially in the cases of Chae-yeon and Jua, their positions are extremely skewed in one direction compared to their fighting skills.

Rather, if those two weren’t around, we might find it quite inconvenient to fight.

Before the fight, they all showed intense competitive spirit, but once the match results were determined, they looked satisfied trading signatures with each other.

No matter what happened, the signatures I made ended up circulating among my friends in order.

Except for one.

“But what about that one signature?”

Yeon-woo asked.

“Can we all meet up?”

“…No, I feel like if we all go together, they might be way too uncomfortable with it.”

Well, maybe not?

They might actually like it and lose their minds. They were that into Earth civilization.

Even though I had just debuted as a signer and they freaked out running around, I wonder how much they’d enjoy gathering all of our signatures together.

But even so, it would definitely be strange for magical girls to swarm to a normal person’s house… No matter what, the attention would probably be too much.

More than that.

I feel like I didn’t even get that person’s contact info.

All I know is their name and address. The info I have is way too extreme.

If I want to go find them, there’s only one way: go straight to their address without asking for permission.

“Isn’t that right?”

Yeon-woo’s smiling face looked really bright.

…..

Bright, right?

The others too?

Right, guys?

No, I honestly still have no idea what’s going on.
