I Became an Academy Overpowered Growth Genius – 6

EP.6 Mysterious Man (1)

Park Seo-yoon’s office located in Taesan Building.

She was reviewing the fight between Kang Seo-jun and Park Shin-hoo that took place that day, securing the alley CCTV footage.

“It’s not the movement of an ordinary student….”

Even upon a second viewing, the movements were unbelievably skilful.

What was peculiar was that the body displaying such a performance did not seem capable of it at all.

From textbook-perfect postures to precise techniques hitting vital points, well-balanced power control that was neither excessive nor lacking, and even a reflex speed that seemed to come out like an automatic response.

However, how could Park Shin-hoo, not to mention his followers, be single-handedly defeated by Kang Seo-jun?

At a glance, Kang Seo-jun’s body was far from the normal range, and his physique looked grotesque, as if all the muscles had melted away, leaving only fat.

It was logically incomprehensible.

“Ugh….”

She inadvertently bending her waist, grimaced at the side pain that stabbed when she did so.

The day of the fight between Kang Seo-jun and Park Shin-hoo.

Originally, she had no intention of intervening between them at all.

Calling someone to thoroughly beat up a person was an everyday occurrence for Park Shin-hoo, much like having a meal.

Although they weren’t close siblings, she had reluctantly gone to the test site under her father’s orders.

But the situation started to take a strange turn.

When she found her brother, they were already in a standoff with Kang Seo-jun, and Park Seo-yoon, not caring much, watched them from a distance until the end.

Despite Park Shin-hoo getting up and rushing multiple times, the situation did not change.

Park Shin-hoo, who had never lost to someone of his age, fell lifelessly to Kang Seo-jun’s fist, and the thugs, like followers, rushed in, only to helplessly hit the ground.

Finally, when Park Shin-hoo took out a weapon, Park Seo-yoon had no choice but to step forward.

Was her brother going to kill someone?

It was the opposite.

Some intuition told her that her brother was being pressured to do something.

No matter how much she disliked her brother, he was still her brother.

As an older sister, she had no choice but to save him.

That’s how she intervened and took Kang Seo-jun’s punch instead….

“Ugh….”

She didn’t regret saving her brother’s life, but that didn’t make the lingering pain any less.

“It’s been a day, and it still hurts. Maybe I should have taken that potion yesterday.”

Even with Park Seo-yoon’s exceptional recovery ability as an A-class hunter, the bruise from the punch she received yesterday still hadn’t healed.

“It’s definitely not the level of an ordinary student.”

If he could inflict this level of damage on her, Kang Seo-jun, an Awakener, would likely have at least A-class or higher abilities. However, the abilities he demonstrated during the entrance exam were only strong willpower.

“The rest is one point… F-grade, he said. But why does the intelligence score 8 again?”

Both his grades and appearance reflected the same pattern.

“Why would he hide his strength…?”

Kang Seo-jun.

The more she thought about it, the more puzzling he became.

“I shouldn’t have just let it go…”

The plan to approach him under the pretext of a reward on that day had become a failure due to Kang Seo-jun’s stubborn refusal.

Even the offer to give him a ride home was firmly rejected.

The refusal was so resolute and stern that it felt like a warning not to come any closer, and Park Seo-yoon couldn’t suggest anything further.

After parting ways with him and returning to the guild office, Park Seo-yoon immediately ordered her secretary to gather information on Kang Seo-jun.

There was nothing as unsettling as sharing the activity area with an enigmatic existence whose identity was unknown.

However, there was no significant progress.

All they found was his phone number, home address, and some past records.

The only thing noteworthy in his past was being from an orphanage.

“This… looks like a forged identity…”

The orphanage where Kang Seo-jun supposedly spent time had disappeared without a trace, and not only that, but there were also no records of his academic or work history, and not even the common health check records.

“This doesn’t make sense.”

Unless he had been confined to one place for a long time, such a history was implausible.

“What on earth is his identity…?”

It wasn’t even a cheap forgery made by criminals or illegal immigrants.

It was a meticulously crafted false identity with mana waves, fingerprints, and even iris patterns accurately recorded in the government’s database.

Or at least, it seemed like a false identity…

Regardless, having such a bizarre history indicated that he had some kind of background.

“To enter the academy from the underworld is strange… Why hide his strength…?”

The more she thought about it, the more complicated her thoughts became.

“Hng….”

In the end, Park Seo-yoon clutched her head and made a sound of frustration.

– Thump! Thump! –

At that moment, “Don’t, young master! This is inappropriate…!”

“Get lost!”

“Woah!”

– Thump! –

– Thump thump thump! –

A loud commotion erupted outside. Moreover, the noise was gradually getting closer to Park Seo-yoon’s office.

“Ugh….”

Park Seo-yoon let out a deep sigh.

– Thud! –

“Park Seo-yoon!”

Almost simultaneously, Park Shin-hoo forcefully opened the office door and walked in.

“Ugh… damn it….”

As if her mind wasn’t already complicated enough, now an annoying person had come to bother her.

– Thunk! –

He slammed his fist on her desk, leaving a deep mark on the recently acquired desk.

“How dare you just let Kang Seo-jun go like that?”

“Ah….”

He pointed to the bandage on his nose.

“Don’t you see this? You should have somehow caught him, even if you had to make up an excuse!”

“Ugh… damn it. Seriously, can’t you just handle it yourself? Is it something to brag about getting punched?”

“What?”

She infuriated, stood up abruptly.

“Consider yourself lucky it ended like that. You idiot. If I hadn’t intervened, you’d be at least a vegetable by now. Stupid brat.”

His expression hardened.

“What did you say?”

“Damn it, do you have any idea how much trouble you’ve caused? I should be the one angry right now, not you. Idiot.”

She glared at him and, in a fit of anger, swept her hair back.

“Acting like a rabid dog, biting anyone in your way. That’s why these things happen, damn it.”

“What?”

His face twisted in disbelief.

“Try saying that again. You little…”

She handed him Kang Seo-jun’s information as if stabbing it into his chest. After silently scanning the information, he casually remarked.

“Clearly, it’s a forged identity.”

And then he raised the corner of his mouth with a grin.

“You find this amusing? Why are you smiling?”

“Entering the academy with a fake identity is a violation. We should investigate and expel him immediately.”

Park Seo-yoon’s expression turned disdainful.

“Sigh… This guy is really something. Hey.”

The guy who almost died yesterday is clueless and wants to charge at him again.

“Don’t ever think about getting involved with that guy in a bad way.”

“What? Whose side are you on?”

“Obviously! Damn it!”

– Thud! –

Unable to endure the frustration, Park Seo-yoon slammed the desk.

“You damn well know whose side I’m on! Frustrating idiot! Show some gratitude when someone helps you!”

The relatively new desk made from high-quality wood obtained from a dungeon collapsed entirely.

Despite being an expensive piece of furniture, Park Seo-yoon couldn’t care less.

“Please. Know your place before acting. There are plenty of organizations larger than us, you idiot. Consider the opponent’s size and show some discretion in your actions.”

Pointing at Park Shin-hoo with her finger, Park Seo-yoon spoke.

“Sigh… Discretion?”

Park Shin-hoo briefly lowered his head and then looked at Park Seo-yoon with a mocking expression.

“You scared of that disabled guy?”

“W-What? Oh, damn it…! You don’t understand a thing about this guy!”

As if disgusted by Park Seo-yoon’s face, she walked to the window, turning her back.

In response, Park Shin-hoo taunted her while looking at her back.

“Do you know why you couldn’t get the Fruit of the Sun at the academy?”

“……”

“It’s because you always miss every opportunity by acting like a jerk. That’s why.”

“This guy is unbelievable!”

“So, step aside from the heir position and stay out of Dad’s sight. If you want to keep sitting in that position in the future, handle your work properly. Don’t make him come back for no reason.”

Park Shin-hoo tossed Kang Seo-jun’s information on the floor and turned away.

“Where are you going? Come here, you idiot! I’ve been tolerating you since you were a kid, but the more you grow, the more annoying you become!”

Park Seo-yoon, with the momentum to rip out Park Shin-hoo’s throat, walked forward, but several hunters who were observing the situation rushed in to intervene.

“Guild Master! Don’t do it!”

“Hey! Hey! What are you doing! Stop her!”

“Call more people! Quickly!”

Ignoring them all, Park Shin-hoo simply walked forward, not giving any attention to those trying to stop him.

As Park Shin-hoo walked, the sound of Park Seo-yoon’s scolding behind him gradually faded.

Upon entering the elevator, Park Shin-hoo immediately ignored the indoor smoking ban, lit a cigarette, and took a puff.

Exhaling a refreshing breath, he took out his smartphone and made a call.

[Yes. Young master.]

Before the call tone rang once, a deep-voiced man on the other end answered.

“I caught one. Kang Seo-jun. Report to the academy that there are suspicions about a forged identity. Also, have the connected police officers investigate.”

With a mouthful of cigarette smoke, Park Shin-hoo put on a facial expression as if savoring a sweet candy.
