I Became an Unknown Professor at the Academy

Chapter 148

The airport was enveloped in silence. Not only Kang Hanna and her students, but also the other passengers and the gathered reporters, all had a dazed look on their faces.

“Kang Hanna.”

A clear, though not loud, voice cut through the silence, causing everyone to snap out of their stupor and turn towards the source. A tall man, dressed entirely in black except for a pair of ridiculous glasses with swirling patterns, stood before them.

“Do you want to roll on the floor as well?”

“Wha… No! No, I don’t!”

Kang Hanna, startled by the strangely memorable voice of Baek Woo-jin, quickly responded.

Tap, tap, tap, tap.

His footsteps, as well as his voice, carried an air of dignity.

“Huh…”

Kang Hanna swallowed hard as she looked up at Baek Woo-jin, who had approached her without her noticing.

‘Wow, he’s really something.’

Just standing there, he exuded an intimidating aura that made her mouth go dry. He seemed to have a different aura than when they had met at the Academy.

“Stick to the schedule.”

“Okay… I understand.”

Kang Hanna took a deep breath and composed herself.

“Keep moving.”

“Yes, sir!”

The students, having regained some composure, responded with determination and followed Kang Hanna.

“Only Jayden, stay. The rest of the professors, move.”

The professors, who had been standing idly by, quickly followed the students as soon as Baek Woo-jin gave the order.

Jayden, who had been watching the rapidly departing group, approached Baek Woo-jin. He looked a bit tired, but his gaze towards the unconscious Josh Prince and the frozen reporters was indifferent.

“If you don’t have any specific requests, I’ll take care of it.”

Jayden looked down at the unconscious Josh Prince and spoke as if it was no big deal.

“Leave it to me.”

“Yes, there won’t be much of a fuss.”

Baek Woo-jin patted Jayden on the shoulder and slowly walked towards where the students had disappeared.

The tall man was gradually moving away. The reporters, having regained their senses, didn’t dare point their cameras at him. The airport police, who had arrived with the commotion, also watched silently as the man walked away.

Jayden, now alone, took out his smartphone from his pocket and walked towards the second prince.

The second prince, Josh, was inferior to the first prince, Arthur, in every way except for his legitimacy.

‘What an idiot. If you’re going to be stupid, at least be perceptive.’

Did the first prince really not know that Claire Bean Assen was attending this procession?

It was information that could be easily found by simply checking the list submitted to the association.

Yet, the first prince had not taken any action, which meant there was a reason for his inaction. Why didn’t they understand that?

“Yes, sir.”

“I’ll send an email, so please deliver it to the royal family as is.”

“Yes, sir. I’ll prepare it under your name.”

Jayden sat on his suitcase and moved his fingers.

While it was a noble greeting for a man to kiss a woman’s hand, what did it matter?

‘Might makes right.’

And even if this side didn’t make a move…

Tap, tap, tap, tap.

Jayden looked up at the sound of quick footsteps.

The royal guards, with the royal emblem on their chests, had surrounded them.

The guards stepped aside, and a well-groomed young man with blond hair stepped forward.

He had thick eyebrows and distinct facial features.

“It seems my brother has been rude.”

Arthur Philip, the first prince.

He bowed his head slightly.

‘I really don’t like this country.’

Jayden wanted to return to the hotel as soon as possible.

.

.

.

The lobby was adorned with ivory marble and red carpets scattered across the floor.

“I’ll send the schedule for tomorrow by email, so don’t go outside the hotel and rest. Dismissed!”

In the glow of the chandelier, the students pulled their suitcases towards the elevator.

“You look happy.”

“Ah, do I…?”

Baek Hana, at the front of the group, smiled faintly at Yoon Iseul’s question.

It was a smile that made the surroundings seem brighter for a moment.

Ding!

Six elevators opened simultaneously, and the higher-ranked students, with Baek Hana at the center, boarded one of them.

“Wow, there are so many buttons.”

Baek Hana blinked at the buttons for the 20 floors, and Yoon Iseul smiled gently and pressed the button for the 19th floor.

The elevator door closed, and it ascended without making a sound.

“Hana.”

“Hmm?”

“Are you going to change clothes and eat?”

“Ah, yeah. Food.”

Baek Hana nodded at Nam Seo-hee’s question.

“There’s also dessert, like cake and chocolate fondue.”

“Chocolate fondue?”

Baek Hana’s gaze shifted back to Yoon Iseul.

“It’s like dipping marshmallows into chocolate.”

Baek Hana’s throat moved as she swallowed.

Ding!

The elevator door opened just in time.

“Room 1901. It’s right in front of us.”

Unlike other floors with dozens of rooms, the 19th floor only had five rooms, and the one assigned to Baek Hana and her group was in the best location.

This was one of the signs that the hotel was going overboard with their hospitality, as other Academy students from different affiliations were already using the rooms.

Click.

When Baek Hana held her card to the door, the lock was released, just like in the dormitory.

“Wow…”

Baek Hana was amazed as she opened the door and stepped into the foyer.

The foyer was so spacious that even if the four people sharing the room stood in a line, they wouldn’t fill it up.

Click.

While Baek Hana was still marveling, Yoon Iseul used her shadow to turn on all the light switches in the room.

“Wow… You can see everything outside!”

Baek Hana quickly took off her shoes and stepped inside, looking at the glass wall.

Swoosh.

“…”

“I’ll carry it.”

Nam Seo-hee frowned at the shadow carrying Baek Hana’s suitcase but then relaxed and nodded.

“I don’t think it’s a good time for us to fight.”

“Unfortunately.”

Nam Seo-hee agreed with Na Joo-hee’s words as she watched Yoon Iseul approach Baek Hana.

.

.

.

The elevator doors opened, and Baek Hana and her group, now dressed in comfortable clothes, stepped out.

“The entire 5th floor is a restaurant…”

“That means there’s a lot of food.”

Baek Hana’s throat moved again as she swallowed.

“Hana, do you like the window seat?”

“Huh? Yeah, I do.”

“Let’s go.”

“Oh, yeah, sure.”

Baek Hana tilted her head at Nam Seo-hee’s unusually proactive behavior and followed her inside.

“Hey, Baek Hana.”

“Huh?”

As Baek Hana followed Nam Seo-hee inside, she heard a familiar voice and quickly turned towards it.

“Edyn?”

“Hey~”

Edyn, wearing a fluffy hoodie, approached with a cheeky smile.

“How did you get here?”

“What do you mean, how? I flew here, of course. Come on, let’s go. I’ve already reserved a seat.”

“Huh? Oh, okay…”

Baek Hana glanced back, and Edyn shrugged.

“The senior and the red-haired jerk are also here.”

“The… jerk?”

“If you don’t want to come, don’t. Come on, let’s go.”

Before Baek Hana could say anything, Edyn led her and Nam Seo-hee further inside.

“Good evening.”

“Hi.”

“Hello.”

They found their friends and prospective junior sitting at the window seat, which they had practically taken over.

“Did you come to cheer us on?”

“Yeah, I came for that and other things.”

Maria took a sip of champagne and stood up.

“We can talk while eating, so let’s go get some food first.”

“Huh? Oh, yeah!”

“I already found out what Hana likes.”

“Maria…”

“Hehehe~”

Maria laughed provocatively as Baek Hana, who was taller than her, hugged her. She passed by Yoon Iseul and Na Joo-hee.

.

.

.

“Thanks for coming.”

“It’s only natural for friends to support each other.”

Baek Hana smiled back at Maria, who was smiling cheekily as usual.

“But… it seems like a lot has happened while you were preparing.”

Baek Hana noticed Maria’s gaze shift towards Yoon Iseul and Na Joo-hee, and she briefly recounted the events that had occurred during the rift.

“That’s like feeding a pet…”

“Gah!”

Edyn couldn’t finish her sentence as a sharp pain shot up her leg, and she shuddered.

“So you’ve become close.”

“Yeah. Our first meeting wasn’t great, but the senior and Joo-hee are good friends.”

“Yeah, if Hana says so, then it’s true.”

Maria covered her mouth and smiled.

Baek Hana wasn’t too concerned, as it was a familiar sight, and she leaned closer to Maria’s ear.

“What about the Fairy?”

“Together…”

Maria stopped mid-sentence and closed her mouth.

“Hmm? Oh, don’t mind us. Continue your conversation.”

Jayden, who had stopped at the opposite seat, smiled kindly and sat down.

The blue screen expanded, and Maria laughed to herself as she saw Baek Hana staring intently at it.

The person sitting across from Jayden was none other than Baek Woo-jin.

‘That…’

Baek Hana, remembering what had happened at the airport, felt happy and fidgeted with her fingers. Her eyes then landed on a white object hanging from Baek Woo-jin’s jacket pocket.

A white cloth.

At first glance, it looked like a handkerchief, but Baek Hana immediately recognized what it was.

‘…A glasses cloth.’

It was the first gift she had chosen for him.

A soft smile formed on Baek Hana’s lips.

“Everything is a luxury brand, but what’s with that handkerchief?”

Na Joo-hee, who had become interested in Baek Woo-jin after today’s events, frowned as she examined him.

“The color doesn’t match at all… and it doesn’t even have a pattern.”

She didn’t mean any harm.

Na Joo-hee was just being honest about what she saw and felt.

Screech.

Baek Hana stood up from her seat and quickly left.

“What’s wrong?”

Na Joo-hee tilted her head, confused by Baek Hana’s sudden departure with a stiff face, just moments after she was smiling.

At that moment, Maria, who had been standing up to clear the table, smiled strangely and spoke.

“There’s a reason for everything.”

“Huh?”

Na Joo-hee furrowed her brow at Maria’s sudden, nonsensical words.
