I Became the Last Princess of the Brown Bear Kingdom

Chapter 356

“Well, did Maria have the child late?”

“Even so, considering she had a child, it seems we could see her until her mid-30s.”

“Having a baby in her mid-30s is almost considered late, right? But who cares? As long as she’s fine.”

“But isn’t she quite young?”

“She looks pretty young, in fact.”

“Maria II appears to be in her twenties, doesn’t she?”

“I gave birth a little late, but I did a lot of work with the Okhrana.”

Seeing her scratch her head with a ‘hee hee hee’ brings back memories of young Maria.

But worked with the Okhrana, huh?

If she served in the Okhrana, she must have a considerable amount of knowledge.

How old was she when she started with the Spetsnaz?

I wouldn’t ask, fearing the answer.

“In the Okhrana? Where did you mainly operate?”

“I worked in the Far East China branch, Your Majesty.”

“Oh, then you must be quite knowledgeable about Asia.”

If she worked in the Okhrana’s China branch, that department is responsible for continuously gathering information about fragmented China and creating strategies toward it.

She must know quite a bit if she worked there at a young age.

And considering her background in the Spetsnaz, Maria II seems quite remarkable.

I’ve hardly paid attention to the China side, so I’m curious about what Maria II has to say.

“Yes, Asia is practically a non-issue.”

“Why’s that?”

“Asia isn’t a problem at all. Is that it?”

“There’s significant friction between Israel, which occupies Shanghai, and the National Government, and there are even movements of conflict between the Israeli forces stationed in Hong Kong and the warlords.”

In Shanghai and Hong Kong?

Shanghai was originally given to Israel, so that makes sense. But Hong Kong—

Is it that they stationed Israeli troops there instead of the Treaty Army due to the return being delayed?

“Can Israel handle it?”

“Yes, while clashing in Shanghai, there have been several high-level meetings with the National Government, but it seems like the National Government has gained nothing from it.”

“I see. That’s not too bad.”

“The Israeli military has already repeatedly charged into the Chinese interior through localized conflicts.”

That place is becoming a mess.

“The Hong Kong side—”

“In Hong Kong, Israel was dispatched as ‘Peacekeeping Forces’ at the request of the Rome Treaty.”

Israel is acting as peacekeeping forces at the request of the Rome Treaty.

It feels like there will be significant clashes. Wait, is Israel intentionally picking fights?

It doesn’t seem like China is recklessly starting trouble.

“Is it China that starts the trouble first?”

“No.”

“Then we should assume that it’s Israel starting it.”

If you think about Israel, it makes sense.

Historically, Israel was known for being quite aggressive.

So I can understand that part.

They basically sent Israel to the East for this reason, didn’t they?

“Then it must be Israel picking fights first.”

Nodding my head, I couldn’t help but admire it—just like Israel.

Considering history, Israel tends to be quite belligerent.

The National Government couldn’t possibly give away Shanghai to another ethnicity.

“Yes, Israel is currently pursuing a long-term national project called Greater Israel.”

“Greater Israel?”

It reminds me of something like the Empire of Japan. Israel’s population is over ten million now, isn’t it?

I know there are still quite a few Jews migrating to Israel these days.

Much like before, if there wasn’t a Holocaust in history, the population of Israel seems to be notably large.

“Greater Israel is a project for Israel to occupy China.”

A project to occupy China by Israel.

Just hearing about it makes my heart race with excitement.

“The China occupation project.”

“For the China occupation project, we will relocate Israelis to compete against the Qing and the Regional Autonomous Government, gradually expanding our influence and slowly starting the occupation. For the southern Chinese governments, we will respond with military force and steadily extend our influence using immigrants against the Qing and the Regional Autonomous Government.”

Is it similar to what was done in Palestine in original history?

But would the Qing and the Regional Autonomous Government just stand by and watch?

“Will the Qing and the Regional Autonomous Government just watch?”

“Both are actually undergoing substantial reforms due to Jewish funding, and it seems the Regional Autonomous Government had a relatively easy time facing Jewish incursions due to their political structure. Additionally, the National Army has never once overpowered the Israeli troops during the Shanghai localized conflicts.”

The National Army wouldn’t be able to defeat Israel.

On top of that, they are also facing off against warlords. Considering the combat capabilities of the Israeli troops, they are not weak either.

For now, they are receiving the latest weapons, forming an alliance with the Rome Treaty, and the National Army is currently producing domestically.

Since local conflicts with the warlords are currently at a ceasefire, there’s no particular reason for us to sell more weapons, and warlords are poor, plus the National Government has fallen into disgrace recently on the international stage because of their last event.

This massive situation has made me think: If this escalates significantly, it might lead to a fight between Israel and China within China.

Whether Israel can handle the fast-breeding Chinese is another question. Perhaps they can given the fragmented state of China.

Suddenly, I envisioned a day when the vast lands of China were stained with Israel’s flag.

Oh, this might actually be interesting.

Let’s say they take over the Regional Autonomous Government led by Mao Zedong. That way, they’d already occupy some of China while experiencing something like the northern Song Dynasty.

Considering the size and population of the Qing, it might not be unreasonable to think they could consume it as well.

Essentially, a giant Israel would occupy northern China!

In a few decades, perhaps the vision of Greater Israel could truly come to fruition.

“But you haven’t been here for many years, right? You are quite in touch with the Okhrana’s updates.”

If she’s that knowledgeable, it means she’s kept connected to that place for a long time. Otherwise, this could be news from a few years back.

Either way, it signifies that Maria II’s abilities are quite impressive.

Perhaps even more than Maria’s.

Maria’s role was basically just to relay my words, acting as the “Kremlin spokesperson”.

Of course, she could have changed my words, and since I depended on Maria, it was essentially a significant position.

“I’m working hard to earn Your Majesty’s favor, just like Director Beria.”

Saying she’s trying to earn my favor.

That’s quite a commendable thing to say.

“Then I’ll ask. Your mother, the original Maria, said to divide Serbia and have me directly grant them a settlement. Do you think the same?”

They would be granted a settlement.

“That’s not a bad idea, but what if you added something to it?”

“Something more?”

Unlike Maria, does Maria II have something more fun in mind?

Children ought to surpass their parents.

If Maria II comes up with a better idea, then I would have to accept it.

Maria II smiled brightly at my question.

“First, propose a ceasefire to them. Tell them not to fight among themselves as Serbians.”

Oh, I get it. I think I grasp the meaning behind Maria II’s words.

“And then?”

I already know, but don’t you want to see how Maria II will proceed?

“Wouldn’t it be fun if a Chetnik shot at the Pro-Danube faction at the peace treaty event?”

Oh, that’s a decent plan! If done that way, it will only further divide the two sides.

It’s actually forming a pretty plausible picture.

Now that I think about it, Maria, isn’t there a chance that the British are mixed into your bloodline?

Serbian Autonomous Region, Belgrade

“Damn those traitors!”

“A traitor my ass! What traitor is there when there’s no country left!”

Right, what traitor can there be when there’s no country?

The fighting between the Chetniks and the Pro-Danube Militia grew fierce.

Moreover, it even gained momentum as it became known that the Chetniks were not merely a simple nationalist group sparked by a vaccine but a force yearning for independence.

“Want to become independent? Are you crazy?”

“Then, do you plan to live as refugees of a fallen nation?”

Refugees of a fallen nation.

That statement resonated with the Pro-Danube Militia, but in reality, it held no significant meaning.

In any case, the Danube Federation had already occupied half of Serbia and integrated many Slavs.

Why not just get along and make things better?

“I’d rather live as Danubian than rebuild a country that’s hated worldwide!”

“Yugoslavia will surely rise again!”

The rift between them began to deepen.

Around this time, the Tsar of Russia’s peace proposal was announced.

“Let’s call for a ceasefire. Must we fight amongst our own kind?”

Both the Chetniks and the Pro-Danube Militia were, after all, of the same nationality.

They just needed to find some common ground.

The Chetniks couldn’t outright reject the proposal. They knew the Rome Treaty was observing them even while they sought independence.

Then, if persuaded gently, it should be possible.

The Chetniks thought so, and the Pro-Danube Militia also intended to convince the Chetniks somewhat during the ceasefire agreement, but—

“Stop joking! This ceasefire is void!”

A spirited and hot-blooded Chetnik soldier (backed by the Okhrana) shot at the Pro-Danube Militia officials at the ceasefire meeting.

“Damn! You filthy Chetniks! From this day onward, you are no longer Slavs!”

“We’re the ones with the say here! You’ve tried to pin this on us after causing chaos!”

The two sides broke apart way too easily to unite.

On top of that, the Tsar of Russia publicly announced that only Serbians would receive Moscow residency.

“Serbia no longer exists. But the nation lives on, and Serbia was originally one nation with us Russians. We must provide special benefits and settlement funds for those of the old Serbian nation residing in Russia!”

Throughout this, the Chetniks had no intention of heeding the words of the Tsar of Russia, the main culprit of the fall of Yugoslavia, and the Pro-Danube Militia’s desire to live in Russia, the elder of the Slavic nations, clashed once more.

Ideologically, with such different thoughts, this was an obvious outcome.

And thus, a bloody war for blood began.

Greater Israel.

Israel’s plan to occupy China.

No, it was a terraforming plan for China by the Jews.

A plan aiming to occupy the land of China, which flows with milk and honey in the East.

The Tsarina yielded part of northern China but, naturally, there would be differences compared to the south that flows with milk and honey.

Since they gained Shanghai from the last Chinese intervention, they aimed to gradually undermine the National Government in southern China and send immigrants to the north to extend their influence over the Qing and the Regional AutonomousGovernments.

“Are you proposing that we relocate?”

“Honestly, we’re struggling to rebuild the cities. Is there any way we can’t do so?”

“Tsk tsk, can you just start a nation and go around building walls? Well, I understand.”

The problem is that’s the extent of it.

Unfortunately, the Qing and the Regional Autonomous Government didn’t catch on.

What country would push in immigrants to exert influence while opening borders and trying to seize territory?

Such acts are unheard of in Chinese history, and they thought the foreigners wouldn’t differ much.

However, while suspiciously wealthy Jews began to flow into the Qing and the Regional Autonomous Government in the tens of thousands, it raised some eyebrows.

“Um, is this okay?”

“Settlements have started to form?”

“They have even appointed their own governor, causing quite a stir.”

Somehow, borderlands began to fill up with Jews.

This was the result of calling Jews from all over the world.

And of course, the Qing and the Regional Autonomous Government protested against this—

“Oh, they are just immigrants, literally. We are busy with Shanghai and internal maintenance at the moment, so handling that part is impossible; instead, our government will directly fund that amount.”

“Oh, Jewish capital, is it? Sweet deal.”

With the news of receiving Israel’s capital, they were swept away. Meanwhile, Israel responded strongly to the National Government’s protests from Shanghai.

“Shanghai is legitimately Chinese territory. How dare you not only occupy it but also provoke us while expanding your territory?”

“Legitimately Chinese territory? Shanghai was acquired by European powers during the Qing Dynasty and has been handed over to us. This is our territory, and you initiated military confrontations first, so we were merely retaliating and fortified our positions.”

Shanghai served as a resting place for the Western powers in East Asia, and Israel merely took its part. Thus, Israel flatly rejected it.
